Dear Original 5K Creator,
I'm
greygerbil on AO3, thank you for writing for me! Right from the start, I want to say you don’t have to do anything with my prompts, they’re just here in case you want some ideas. If it has my pairing and avoids my DNWs, I’m sure I’ll enjoy it! All ratings are great. I included a list of my general likes and smut likes which apply to all my requests. When it comes to kinks, you can include anything not listed under my DNWs.
Fic where the couple is not yet together but clearly in love, or on the road to getting together, or having their first time kissing/in bed together are great. However, so are established relationship fics. Whatever suits your ideas!
Some prompts may read like ideas for longer fics, but if you’re interested in them, please just grab a scene with the general idea out of the middle of those hypothetical longfics and write me that! I love fic of all length and don’t want anyone to feel like they have to go above the minimum word count. I just get excited writing prompts sometimes.
I generally also have no problem with gore, blood, and graphic violence.

Characters and Tropes
I have very few real preferences for characters except that I’d be happy if the men in the pairings were at least 25 years old or older (no limit at all in that direction!) because I enjoy characters who have had some time to gather life experiences. Physically, I mostly like male characters who aren’t super dainty, but anything from skinny to average to chubby to bodybuilder goes. Also, exceptions can of course be made for certain prompts or species – a traditional elf is probably not going to look like Conan the Barbarian.
Feel free to change the characters around to fit your setting and plot ideas. You can interpret my requested kings as chieftains or pharaohs, for example, so with a vaguely equivalent role they would have in a different cultural setting. Also, you can make the characters members of a fantasy or science fiction species, too, if that fits your setting, even if the prompt itself doesn’t specify it. Jaded Warrior King/The Charming Prince Who Is His Betrothed could also be an elves or aliens.
Generally, for pairings I prefer aliens who looks vaguely human: somewhat humanoid build, some recognisable facial features, genitalia that’s somewhat equivalent, though the alien could be intersex (in human terms) and/or from a species that looks closer to male humans and thus tends to be viewed as male by humans, but is actually monosex (if you want some visual direction, the playable species of SWTOR or the companions in Mass Effect would all be totally within range of not being too inhuman for my tastes). If you’d rather go with the true-and-tried ‘human but green’ trope from old sci-fi TV series, that would also be super fun.
I enjoy a/b/o, so you can add that to prompts if you like. I actually quite like omegas who are physically stronger than their alphas, but it’s not a must!
I’m into kidfic, mpreg and adoption stories, so if you want any of the requested couples planning a family, go right ahead, even if it’s not inherent to the prompt.
Settings
For historical fiction or fantasy settings, feel free to make up any number of countries for any time period or location in the world, use actually existing ones, or rewrite them to fit your needs (mpreg exists, homophobia doesn’t exist, gender equality was achieved 3000 B.C., for example), or just divorce it from our world entirely. I like high and low fantasy and everything in-between, Tolkien-esque fantasy or fantasy based in completely different mythologies and traditions. For historical or pseudo-historical fantasy settings, I’m especially into Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome (and all the places in its vast empire), Celtic Ireland, the European Middle Ages, the Italian Renaissance, general Age-of-Sail type stuff, Regency and Victorian England, Feudal Japan, and the Classic Period Maya. But seriously, if there’s something else you like or know about, go for it, even (or especially!) if it’s maybe not something one sees often as settings for tropey slash. If the setting is fixed in the prompt (‘Victorian Gentleman’ and such) you can also very much use fantasy or alternate history settings that just mimic the trappings of that specific period.
For science fiction, I basically love all types. I enjoy the sleek, 1950s inspired looks of gleaming white utopias (with or without adjacent seedy underbelly), cyberpunk ruled by evil megacorporations full of androids and hackers and augmentations, steampunk with air ships that sail the whole universe or the more grungy variation that is all about cranking the dirt and squalor of 19th century industrialisation up, hard-boiled military SF, sprawling space operas, or even comparatively mild “we invented space travel/aliens uplifted us and now we’re part of the interstellar alien community” stuff. You can also mix fantasy and science fiction with magic spaceships and kings that lead galactic federations and such. I also enjoy post-apocalyptic wastelands, but I’d prefer it if some first tendrils of society to have already emerged again, should you go past the end times.
And then, of course, there’s the good old everyday modern world. I have to admit I’m not super interested in mundane modern stuff and most of the pairings I chose probably don’t work too well with it. However, I enjoy urban fantasy with magic and werewolves and vampires, or “our world, but we met aliens/elves decades or centuries ago and now they work alongside you at the office” or something along those lines. Also, feel free to write ideas you will often find in everyday stories, like meet-cutes or other sweet/low-stakes plots like that, in crazy sci-fi or fantasy settings, I like that a lot, too!
Ancient Roman Gladiator Champion/His Closest Rival
Who are these two gladiators? Did they sell themselves into service? Were they convicted and sent there or are they even captives from the wars? Did they come together to the ludus or did they only meet there and perhaps have very different origins? Are they resigned to their life (and likely death) in the arena or trying to get out? Does one of them have more experience? Are they fresh rivals or has this been going on for years?
Feel free to be as historically accurate as you’d like. If that’s your thing, great! If not, I’m here for everything, including ancient Rome with magic or in space, or pseudo-ancient Rome from a totally different world or timeline, or with changes such as “same-sex marriages are allowed”. This also doesn’t have to happen in Rome itself, it could take place all over the Ancient Roman empire.
Older Ancient Roman Gladiator/Younger Ancient Roman Gladiator
Who are these two gladiators? Did they sell themselves into service? Were they convicted and sent there or are they even captives from the wars? Did they come together to the ludus or did they only meet there and perhaps have very different origins? If the older one has been there for a while, is he an undisputed champion of many years or mostly known for somehow still being alive when he probably shouldn’t be? That would still be a valuable skill for a younger gladiator to learn, after all. And what about the younger gladiator, is he still bright-eyed and hoping for glory or already not a fan of this whole situation? Or maybe he is the one with more arena experience? For the younger one, I’d ideally like him to be at least twenty, but he can also be a lot older as long as there’s still an age gap between him and the, well, older one. I have a preference for the older character bottoming for sex, but certainly doesn’t need to be every encounter. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Older Gladiator. If you do A/B/O, I’d prefer omega Older Gladiator.
Jaded Warrior King/The Charming Prince Who Is His Betrothed (M/M)
I like the implications of this tag a lot. Maybe a Jaded Warrior King might initially not feel like he has much in common with a Charming Prince, nor will he be ready to get wrapped around his little finger. However, the Charming Prince has his special ability in his name and I’m sure he has a few tricks up his sleeve to get the King to pay attention to him.
For the Jaded Warrior King, I would prefer someone over 30 years of age, who has had quite a few years to gather experience and generally collect reasons to grow jaded. I’d also like him not to be a totally needlessly expansionist Warrior King who solely wants to raze and conquer. Maybe in his culture being a warrior is just sort of the default, especially for nobles, or he’s had to defend his country in many and/or long wars. For the Charming Prince, someone 25 or older would be great. Does he come from the same or an equally warlike culture or is he maybe from a place where courtly manners are prized higher?
For smut, I would prefer the Jaded Warrior King to bottom. If you do A/B/O, I’d like omega Jaded Warrior King. If you include mpreg, I would prefer pregnant Jaded Warrior King.
Overworked General/Charming Courtier Who Is Good In Bed (M/M)
This prompt just has so many fun implications. Who are the general and the courtier? The general is obviously of quite a high rank, but is he also of high birth? Is the someone who always tends towards working too hard or is he just buckling down because there is no other way at the moment? And what about the courtier? Is he an important man by birth and/or rank or is it his charm (and… other skills) which stands out most about him? Are these two even from the same court? Has the courtier had his sights set on the general for a while and if yes, is it because he’s in love or because the general seems like a fun challenge? Or is their contact more spontaneous? I would love if there was some implication that maybe they’ll spend more than just one enjoyable night together and perhaps even have some feelings for each other.
For smut, I would prefer the General to bottom. If you do A/B/O, I’d like omega General. If you include mpreg, I would prefer pregnant General.
Loyal But Disillusioned Knight Who Was Betrayed By Last Liege/His Trustworthy New Liege (M/M)
I have a thing for characters who are very loyal and of course the hurt is acute when their trust turns out to be misplaced in the end and they get betrayed or discarded. I’m sure the Knight in this scenario will probably think twice about trusting another liege, or anyone, again, but then he meets this New Liege and perhaps only follows him at first because he seems like a decent man and then, more and more, he comes to respect and like him as a person, too, and a new bond is forged. And what does the New Liege think of the Knight? Does he know his history or does he only find out later? And who is this New Liege as a person, anyway? For smut, I’d prefer bottom Knight. For mpreg, I’d prefer pregnant Knight. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Knight.
Older Decorated Knight/Younger Knight He Trained Who Is Now A Hero Too (M/M)
I really like the dynamic of this tag, where one person used to be the mentee, but is now just as, or almost as, or even more capable than their mentor. Did they meet in a formal setting (the Older Knight was the Younger Knight’s general or commander) or was it something that happened outside (they’re at the same court and the Older Knight took the Younger Knight under his wing because he saw potential)? I have a thing for top former mentee/bottom mentor, so if that made it into the story somehow if you write smut, I’d be delighted. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Older Knight. If you do A/B/O, I’d prefer omega Older Knight. I would appreciate it if the Younger Knight had been at least 20 years old when he first became the Older Knight’s mentee (so an older squire, or perhaps he wasn’t his squire, but he was still rather green or new to being a knight when they first met), but he can also have been a lot older as long as they still have an age gap.
Lighthousekeeper/Merman whose life he saves
Lighthousekeeper/Merman who saves his life (M/M)
Grouping these two together since they’re similar prompts. Who is the Lighthousekeeper? It tends to be a pretty lonely job. Was he basically banished there or did he choose it himself? If he went there willingly, was he always a loner or is he jaded for some reason? Or maybe this is a lighthouse that’s pretty close to a city or village and we see the Lighthousekeeper’s friends, too? And what about the Merman? Is he alone or is there a whole merpeople kingdom down on the ocean ground? I love all types of mermen, from the super pretty ones with long glittering swishy fishtails to ones that could come from horror movies. He could also be a merman who more resembles a shark or even an octopus or something else a bit out of left field. Whatever you find most interesting!
Human Man Who Just Moved Off Earth/His New Alien Neighbour With Tentacles (M/M)
The alien being specified to have tentacles definitely seems to indicate that smut might be afoot with this prompt and I’d very much be here for the Human getting up close and personal with his new Alien Neighbour. However, I would also love to read a story about the two of them getting to know each other and the tentacles just being one of the elements the Human finds fascinating about the Alien Neighbour. Also, what draws the Alien Neighbour to the Human? Does he instantly find him interesting or is it something that grows over time as he gets to know his neighbour? And where do the two of them live, anyway, what kind of place is it?
Jaded Alien Soldier Stationed To Protect Farming World/Cheerful Human Space Sheep Herder (M/M)
I love pairings where one half has gone through it and is kind of harrowed by their experiences, and the other is just the nicest ray of sunshine who reminds them by existing that the world and people are not all bad. How did this Alien Soldier come to be sent to the farming world? Are there humans or aliens trying to take over or steal from them, or maybe they have a problem with hostile animals or rogue robots running wild, so he has to work hard to keep the farmers safe? Or was it supposed to be an easy assignment to reward the Alien Soldier? What about the Space Sheep Herder? How did he come to be on this Farming World – was he born there or did he decide to go for that quiet life? What does he think of the Alien Soldier when he first appears? And what is a space sheep (I hope it’s inordinately fluffy)? For smut, I’d prefer bottom Alien Soldier. If you include mpreg, I’d prefer pregnant Alien Soldier. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Alien Soldier.
Older Pro Space Ship Captain/Younger Captain He Trained Who Is Now A Pro Too (M/M)
I really like the dynamic of this tag, where one person used to be the mentee, but is now just as, or almost as, or even more capable than their mentor. Are the Older Captain and the Younger Captain both humans or are one or both of them aliens? Did they meet in a formal setting (the Older Captain was the Younger Captain’s higher ranking officer) or was it something that happened outside (they’re smugglers or resistance fighters or space racers or run freight through difficult areas of space, and the Older Captain took the Younger Captain under his wing because he saw potential)? I have a thing for top former mentee/bottom mentor, so if that made it into the story somehow if you write smut, I’d be delighted. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Older Captain. If you do A/B/O, I’d prefer omega Older Captain. I would appreciate it if the Younger Captain had been at least 20 years old when he first became the Older Captain’s mentee, but he can also have been a lot older as long as they still have an age gap.
Male Human/Male Last Member of an Alien Species That Can Get Mpregnant By Any Species (M/M)
This has potential to go a lot of ways. How did the alien become the last of his kind? Is it something he grew up with or did whatever wiped out all the others happen recently? Or maybe he was in some sort of stasis for hundreds or thousands of years and was just recently thawed and had to deal with the loss of everyone? Is he someone who had shelved the idea of his species ever returning but then fell in love and thought about kids? Or maybe he is actively looking to repopulate and it starts as a practical arrangement for reproduction with the human and turns into more? And what about the human’s intentions? How did he get to know the alien? How did he fall in love? If it starts out as a pragmatic thing to him, too, what are his motivations for fathering children this way? And will the kids have any human features or is this a species that takes the seed from others and produces only its own kind? You could go before, during, or after the pregnancy here, all phases would be interesting. Pregnancy can be human-type or eggpreg. I would love bottom alien for smut if it comes to that, and omega alien and alpha human if you include A/B/O (I’d enjoy both species having A/B/O, but also if one of them is just a “regular” person and the other species has A/B/O).
Human Intergalactic Emperor/Alien Intergalactic Emperor He Marries To End The War (M/M)
It seems like the Human Emperor and the Alien Emperor were fighting this war, but did they start it or is it a drawn-out conflict they inherited from their parents/whoever ruled before them? Has it maybe been going on for several generations? And if they did start it, what made them decide to stop it? Is it a feature in both their cultures to make peace through marriage alliances or is one of them not used to that sort of thing, but is at this point willing to try everything?
Accounting Android/Security Guard Employed At The Same Company (M/M)
I find this one interesting because it could go so many ways depending on how much freedoms androids have in this world. I assume most workers don’t run into the Security Guard that much, since that becomes a job that’s more important after hours, so is the Android always still working because he’s just a diligent employee, or is he literally part of the company’s inventory and works 24/7? Or perhaps this is a company which needs a lot of security and the Security Guard is also around when most employees are? How did the Security Guard end up with the company, anyway? For smut, I prefer bottom android here.
Winning General/Respected Opposing General Who is Their Postwar Arranged Marriage Spouse (M/M)
The potential setting here is very ambiguous, as the role of general was something that basically existed under one name or another through most of history and still does in sci-fi canons, so go wild with whatever you like here. I really enjoy a lot of arranged marriage tropes and the motive of old enemies having to find common ground. Did these generals clash often during the war, maybe for years (or even decades)? Are they still strangers who mostly know off each other, or did they have occasion to get to know each other before the war ended, or before the war had even started? Are they of the same age and have a lot of experience, or is one of them (perhaps the Opposing General, since he’s had time to become respected) somewhat older while the other is a bit of a new upstart in the role? Do they have scars or even lasting injuries that the other caused?
Old Human Space General/His Alien General Old Friend (M/M)
I love the idea of two people who have known and liked each other for a significant amount of their lives finding out that their relationship could also happen on a different level, too. Have the Human General and the Alien General always fought on the same side? Maybe there was a first contact war of some sort in their youth where they were on different sides, but then afterwards they got to know each other? Why didn’t the relationship go further before – were both or one of them otherwise spoken for, but are now widowed/separated/divorced, which opens up options they hadn’t really considered before, or was it maybe simply a thing where they were never in the same place quite long enough or just always missed the right moment? And how do these old friends get together now?
Leader of Revolution in Cyberpunk World/Powerful Businessman Who Is Seduced To His Side (M/M)
This sounds like a great opportunity for a relationship between two complicated, interesting people. How did the Leader come to lead a revolution and is he already at a stage to wage massive war on whatever megacorporations are holding the country in their grasp, or is he still collecting his forces, or generally trying to create more of a shift in society than a fight? Did the Businessman only start to develop some morals when he met the Leader, or was he dissatisfied before, but figured you could only join the bad guys or sink in the sort of world they are in? For smut, I’d prefer bottom Leader here. If you include mpreg, I’d prefer pregnant Leader and for A/B/O omega Leader.
Leader of the Peasant Revolt/The Powerful Nobleman He Needs On His Side To Win (M/M)
This one sounds like a historical or fantasy setting, but I’m also open to a science fantasy version of this. Why does the Leader need the Nobleman? Perhaps he knows that he’s probably not going to manage to convince the collected (and well-armed) nobility of the kingdom to go for democracy instated by a peasant-turned-revolutionary, but he could get them to support crowning a Nobleman who would be less terrible to the commoners than the current king/queen is? Or perhaps whatever political system the Leader plans to install needs the support of the nobility and he does think he could get them to agree, but he needs someone powerful and well-respected to go for it first, and that’s the Nobleman? And what is in it for the Nobleman? Does he support the Leader’s cause from the start or is he someone more Machiavellian looking out for himself, who only slowly develops a few morals? For smut, I’d prefer bottom Leader here. If you include mpreg, I’d prefer pregnant Leader and for A/B/O omega Leader.
Leader of the Rebellion/His Right Hand Man (M/M)
This rebellion is rather unspecified, so it could happen in any sort of setting and I’m happy to see it, as long as the rebellion is shown to be still somewhat in the right and happening for understandable reasons. Did the rebellion start with the Leader or did he eventually take over because they needed someone to command? Are they rebelling openly and go into battle or are they using guerrilla tactics and slow strategies against a much larger foe? And what about the Right Hand Man? Was he part of the rebellion for a long while and worked his way up to meeting the Leader and becoming his trusted Right Hand Man? Did they already start out together? Or was it the Leader’s actions and charisma that first won the Right hand Man over for the Rebellion? For smut, I’d prefer bottom Leader here. If you include mpreg, I’d prefer pregnant Leader and for A/B/O omega Leader.
Elf Alpha/Dwarf Omega (M/M)
For this, I’d love for the usual species stereotypes to still be there and for the Elf and the Dwarf to embody some of them: ephemeral beauty, grace, affinity for song, etc. for the elf; coarse, barrel-chested, bearded, and muscular, with mechanical or fighting talent etc. for the dwarf. Their personalities, of course, do not have to be super stereotypical and I would love to see what you do with these characters in the course of the story and how they learn to like each other. Classical fantasy and science fantasy are both very welcome here. For smut, I prefer bottom Dwarf.
Tall Strong Omega/Short Weaker Alpha (M/M)
A trope I love no matter the setting or character constellation. Feel free to superimpose this trope onto any of the other pairings that I requested if you want more prompts on who these people could be, but I’m also here for your own ideas. I would also love it if they had different roles/jobs that fit with their size; for example, the Omega is a Warrior/Soldier/Mercenary and the Alpha is someone who does paperwork, requisitions, or is more concerned with diplomacy? I have a few other ideas below, but up here is the general gist of what I’d love to read, and if you have your own ideas (superheroes, wrestlers, football players, etc.), please go for it. If you want to, you can also (for example) make the Omega part of an already bigger alien species and the Alpha a regular human, or the Omega a half-orc and the Alpha a hobbit or other such ideas that would further enhance their difference. For smut, I prefer bottom Omega.
King/His Loyal Male Knight & Baby That Comes Out Of The Ancient Egg The Knight Found On Quest
This is such a cute and interesting version of baby acquisition and I would love to read about how the King and the Male Knight deal with the egg and the child that emerges from it. Did they know that this would be a thing or is it a surprise? Are they already together or is this what brings them together? Is the baby a normal human baby or does it have dragon features or wings or something else that you might expect from a baby that came out of an egg?
Male Peasant/His Friendly Male Liege & Baby Born From The Ancient Egg Peasant Dug Up In His Field
This is such a cute and interesting version of baby acquisition and I would love to read about how the Peasant and the Nobleman deal with the egg and the child that emerges from it. Did they know that this would be a thing or is it a surprise? Are they already together or is this what brings them together? Is the baby a normal human baby or does it have dragon features or wings or something else that you might expect from a baby that came out of an egg?
Male Human Mercenary/His Male Alien Lover & Alien Babies Born From Abandoned Eggs Merc Found
This pairing I thought was quite sweet because they’re already implied to be together and might have thought about being parents before and then the opportunity is dropped in their laps – or maybe they haven’t, and it’s just something they realise they would like. Or they did plan on having children at some point, but this is really not a good time for it because they’re kind of living on the mercenary’s ships or running from people who want them dead or there’s an intergalactic war going on? However, maybe they do actually have a fairly stable home through the Alien Lover and parenting is something they realise makes them happy. I would like it if the eggs were clearly abandoned or the parents are gone due to calamity; the eggs could be lying in a village where everyone is dead, or have somehow survived in a place no one has been in for years (so that they don’t turn from abandoned into stolen eggs).

Gladiators
- One of them is cynical and jaded about the whole arena process, the other plays happily along with the arena spectacle, whether because he’s into it or because he’s sly. They figure they won’t get along and fight hard in the arena, but eventually realise they keep having a lot of interesting conversations and more.
- One of them is actually from a smaller ludus and only joins up with the other’s ludus later and he’s a big fan of the other gladiator. Does the other gladiator take him seriously from the start? Does he brush him off at first? Or maybe figure he’s just going to have a little fun in bed with him and not pay him much attention? But then he realises the other gladiator is not only a good fighter to do a show with in the arena, but also someone he could like.
- One of them really never planned to get close to an arena, but fate happened. The other one, an experienced gladiator, takes pity on him and teaches him not to die in his first fight. Turns out the newbie is also a good fighter and they make impressive rivals in the arena. Over time, a working relationship and more develops.
- The gladiators don’t get along at all at first and become rivals (also in the arena to the joy of the audience and everyone who makes money from their fights). However, behind the scenes they eventually start to sleep together (maybe starting out as enemies-with-benefits, maybe already in love) and get closer.
- Are they the same sort of fighter (for example they’re both provocatores) or a matching type of fighter (like retiarius and secutor)? How do their fights go in general?
- I’m all here for celebrated fighters in the big Colosseum, but I would just as much like to read about gladiators in some half-forgotten province that barely has a standing arena or a couple of bustuarii or other lower class gladiators. Any setting where gladiators may have appeared would be fascinating.
- It would be interesting to see a scene of the rivals facing off against each other! If they’re already lovers, that must be a very tense moment. Do they have a strategy? Or are they the kind of people who are incapable of talking about their feelings and so they can’t admit they want to protect each other and have to wing it?
- If they’re in a smaller arena where gladiators don’t get killed as often because it’s not easy to replace good showmen, maybe the two of them already have a whole system figured out.
- Maybe they are in a bigger arena, but they help each other put on a show that’s so good that the crowd votes for the defeated one to live.
- They had a strategy, but one of them accidentally wounded the other pretty badly. The loser is voted to live, but it’s not clear if they will (though I hope they eventually recover!). The other one is anxiously watching him on his sickbed. This would also work with either of them being wounded in a fight with a different gladiator.
- Alternatively, they don’t have a strategy because they are bad at talking and still pretend they don’t like each other, but one of them accidentally wounded the other pretty badly. The loser is voted to live, but it’s not clear if they will (though I hope they eventually recover!). The other one is anxiously watching him on his sickbed.
- Maybe one of them manages to get freed from the arena and buys out the other one’s contract – or buys them entirely if they are there as a slave or as a convicted criminal, the latter of which probably means bribes need to change hands to free them. Would like it if they were at least already friends at this point with an understanding that the one who freed them doesn’t actually own them now.
- Perhaps the two of them escape together, whether it’s during a full-scale gladiator uprising or just because they take an opportunity when they’re both outside the ludus together and run. I’d be happy to hear about their post-arena life as shepherds in Greece or something!
- A cynical older gladiator meets an eager young acolyte. He wants to be thoroughly annoyed, but the young gladiator is rather charming.
- The younger man is actually a fan of the older man. Does the older gladiator take him seriously from the start? Does he brush him off at first? Or maybe figure he’s just going to have a little fun in bed with him and not pay him much attention? But then he realises the younger gladiator is not only a good fighter but also someone he could like.
- The younger gladiator doesn’t know the older gladiator and really never planned to get close to an arena, but fate happened. The older one takes pity on him and teaches him not to die in his first fight. They develop a friendship.
- Maybe the younger gladiator is actually the better fighter (he could even have been at the ludus longer, though perhaps the older gladiator is just of the variation that stumbled through many fights by sheer luck over the years) and he helps the older one out?
- The older and younger gladiator don’t get along at all at first and become rivals (possibly also in the arena to the joy of the audience and everyone who makes money from their fights). However, behind the scenes they eventually start to sleep together (maybe starting out as enemies-with-benefits, maybe already in love) and get closer.
- Is the older gladiator the same sort of fighter (for example they’re both provocatores) or a matching type of fighter (like retiarius and secutor) who can teach the younger one directly? Does this prevent them from being paired against each other (for example if they’re both retiarii) or do their matching styles/them both being from a class of gladiators that usually fights the same class lead to them facing off in the arena?
- I’m all here for celebrated fighters in the big Colosseum, but I would just as much like to read about gladiators in some half-forgotten province that barely has a standing arena or a couple of bustuarii or other lower class gladiators. Any setting where gladiators may have appeared would be fascinating.
- It would be interesting to see them facing off against each other! If they’re already lovers, that must be a very tense moment. Do they have a strategy? Or are they the kind of people who are incapable of talking about their feelings and so they can’t admit they want to protect each other and have to wing it?
- If they’re in a smaller arena where gladiators don’t get killed as often because it’s not easy to replace good showmen, maybe the two of them already have a whole system figured out and fight against each other fairly frequently.
- Maybe they are in a bigger arena, but the more experienced gladiator subtly helps the younger one to put on a show that’s so good that the crowd votes for the younger one to live once the older one has defeated him.
- They had a strategy, but one of them accidentally wounded the other pretty badly. The loser is voted to live, but it’s not clear if they will (though I hope they eventually recover!). The other one is anxiously watching them in their sickbed. This would also work with either of them being wounded in a fight with a different gladiator.
Kings and Knights
- How did this betrothal come about? Maybe the King is trying to make peace with a contentious other kingdom, or making an alliance to help him in another conflict? Or perhaps this betrothal was sort of forced on him by his advisors because he’s old enough that they think he needs to get married and have children. (Whether this is by mpreg, or whether it is considered common in their culture to have a second parent in the house before you start adopting heirs.) Or hell, maybe the Prince’s parents have the King at knifepoint and are basically forcing the Prince on him in return for not starting trouble because they really want the connection.
- In what way is the King jaded? He’s a warrior, so he probably has seen a lot of battle and that may have left him with PTSD and/or a dim view on humanity. Has he maybe already lost a husband in battle or otherwise? Or he was married before, but it was an abusive/otherwise unhappy relationship (the King being nonconned would be fine to include here if you want to, but could also be that his husband was otherwise violent, cheated on him a lot, etc.)? Maybe his own friends or family members tried to betray him, or his siblings tried to kill each other in a bloody war for the throne that shook his trust in people he loves to the core, and he was left to pick up the pieces of a country ravaged by civil war? There are many possibilities!
- What about the Prince? Does being charming come naturally to him and he’s just a very bright, likable person? Or is he a shrewd courtier? Or maybe a bit of both? Maybe he’s way down the line for inheritance and very soberly figured he would have to be as agreeable as he can be to get a good marriage? And is he excited for this marriage, or does the King maybe have a reputation for being unapproachable that makes the Prince hesitant?
- How does it go once the Prince is at his court? How does he work his way through the King’s armour? Does he manage to crack him with his charm, or is it perhaps something totally different that first starts to interest the King about him? And what good traits does the Prince start seeing in the King, despite his hard shell?
- The King and his Prince husband fighting together, or, if the Prince is not a fighter, the King protecting him from an assassin or something (and maybe getting hurt in the process) would be awesome. Generally, the King impressing the Prince with his fighting skills sounds great.
- I would love smut between them. Maybe the King isn’t quite used to having an attentive lover anymore and the Prince makes good use of that advantage. And maybe once the King has melted a bit, he really starts to get into their time together, too?
- Or maybe they have trouble connecting anywhere at the start... except in bed. What does that look like? And how does it go from there?
- The King being a bit of a workaholic and the Prince reminding him of the pleasures of life in general would be sweet.
- If the Prince was of the ‘superfluous 7th son’ sort, I’d love to see him getting to develop his talents at the King’s court, since maybe back at home they weren’t really properly appreciated. Maybe the King, being less touched by his charm, actually notices his other skills quicker than other people do, too? (Maybe it’s even something the Prince had already given up on, since he pegs himself as just being the charming one, but that the King recognises he’d be very good at.)
- The Prince helps the King out in a political situation and the King shows him his gratitude (in a romantic or smutty way).
- The Prince earning the King’s trust somehow – protecting him from an attack with his life, revealing a traitor in the King’s ranks, etc.
- Maybe the King really comes to enjoy the Prince’s charm, too, even though he’s not sure what the Prince sees in him, since he’s not all that charming himself. The Prince is quite honestly enamoured with the King’s good qualities, though.
- The courtier and the general are at the same court, but they’ve never had terribly much to do with each other. However, maybe they keep running into each other late in the evening when the courtier comes back from some social events and the general from work, or through some other circumstance. They start getting along.
- The courtier is encouraged as a joke by some soldier friends or nobles who have to deal with the general on a council to try to get the general to slow down a bit before he has a heart attack. It starts out as friendly teasing, but courtier actually thinks the general is pretty hot and not the worst person, either.
- The general and the courtier have a sort of acquaintance-with-benefits thing going on. However, eventually they fall in love and mutual pining happens. Does the courtier wonder if he’s only appreciated for his intimate talents? Does the general think the courtier has many playthings?
- The general has the right lineage and/or amount of clout for an ambitious but lowborn courtier who wants to marry up and maybe not bother much with his husband – and since the general is always working, that would suit the courtier well. The courtier figures he’ll just catch him with his charming temperament and convince him in bed, but ends up actually falling for the general in the process.
- As a reward for his achievements the lowborn general is offered the highborn courtier as a husband. Was the courtier convinced to do this or did he offer? Do they know each other or only know of each other?
- Perhaps the courtier was only seducing the general for fun at first, just to see if he could (because maybe no one else at court has managed yet), and because having a probably very fit soldier in his bed certainly doesn’t hurt, but then he falls in love. How does he convince the general he wants more?
- The general and the courtier meet at some festivity and the courtier charms the general into his bed. Afterwards, the general is quite smitten and quite embarrassed about it, feeling it’s unlikely the courtier has special regard for him. That certainty doesn’t make his feelings go away, though. Does the general try to court the courtier?
- The courtier is somehow thrown into a battlefield or a kidnapping or some other dangerous situation. General to the rescue!
- The general has to contend with some intrigue at court on top of all his work. The courtier, who is much better at these things, helps him out.
- How does the Knight end up with the New Liege? Did he choose to join him or was he basically forced to because the land/city he lives in was taken over or redistributed after a war?
- Perhaps the Knight attaches to the New Liege’s troops as a hedge knight or mercenary and even as the Liege offers him to become a permanent retainer (under better conditions), he refuses. The New Liege is confused and endeavours to find out more about this valiant but withdrawn stranger. In the process, they start to like each other.
- The Knight is forced to accept the New Liege as his liege, but while he’s respectful towards him and fights for him, he’s plainly somewhat distant. However, he’s talented and upstanding and the New Liege keeps him around a lot and so they get to know each other.
- Perhaps the New Liege was involved in a war for the country the Knight lives in (he could be the king, or just a lord). The war might have been righteous (in some fashion, at least, otherwise a trustworthy liege might not have participated), but the Knight is still worried that the commoners will be mistreated. However, the New Liege is a very fair person and wins the Knight’s loyalty with his good conduct.
- In any situation where the Knight resisted becoming fully attached to the New Liege at first, I would love to see the moment where he finally kneels before him and offers him his sword or his oath in earnest (or insert other customs to swear loyalty here), and the New Liege being fully aware how much that means.
- Maybe his old liege left the Knight (plus maybe some of his soldiers) to die so that he could flee unharmed from the forces of New Liege, without telling the Knight, of course. The Knight is shattered by this realisation as he looks death in the eye. However, the New Liege also realises what has happened and offers the Knight (plus anyone he has with him) to join him instead. This first act of mercy (especially if it’s also to people under his command) might make the Knight biased towards the New Liege.
- The New Liege proves to the Knight that he is trustworthy in some way, perhaps by protecting him when the Knight is wounded/unaware, or perhaps by being a good liege to his people even to his own detriment if need be. The Knight does not want to get attached, but the New Light seems to deserve it.
- The Knight deciding in a critical moment that he is going to be loyal to this New Liege, perhaps protecting the New Liege from a devastating hit with his own body, or giving his vote for him in front of someone important/powerful who knows the Knight but not the New Liege?
- I would also love to see a fic about the Knight’s inner struggle about not wanting to be hurt again, but slowly starting to trust (and love) his New Liege and how he finally convinces himself (or lets himself be convinced by the New Liege) to trust again.
- Was the Knight’s last liege “just” a liege he was very loyal to (also, of course, an important relationship) or perhaps also an old friend, relative, or lover, making the betrayal even harder to deal with?
- Loyalty kink is, of course, pretty much a perfect fit for smut involving these two. The Knight allowing himself to relax with the New Liege and/or servicing him would be great. However, the New Liege also being very into how much he can trust the Knight and wanting to give something back for how the Knight serves him (inside the bedroom and outside) would also be awsome.
- Since the Younger Knight stopped being a mentee and became a heroic knight himself, perhaps they lost sight of each other for a while and meet again years later? Maybe the Younger Knight already had a crush on Older Knight back in the day, but the Older Knight found him a bit too green or didn’t even notice. Now the Younger Knight returns and has really grown into a competent and experienced warrior and the Older Knight finds himself accidentally smitten.
- The Older Knight and the Younger Knight have worked together since the Younger Knight was his mentee and have become fast friends over the years. There may now also be a new emotion threading into their relationship, though (or the Younger Knight always had a bit of a crush, but now the Older Knight is starting to return it).
- The two of them jousting against each other, racing on horses, sparring with wooden swords. Maybe there’s a wager about what the winner can ask of the loser?
- One of them participates in a tourney and asks for the other one’s favour or gives them the crown as a means of courtship afterwards. (More likely the Younger Knight is doing it, since he might still like showing off more, but perhaps the Older Knight has always liked doing tourneys?). Of course, perhaps they also both participate in the tourney and basically fight for the right to crown the other and/or wearing eat other’s favours.
- Maybe the Older Knight is captured by someone and tortured/threatened with death. While he’s holding out for now, he’s pretty sure he’s not getting out of that one. Then the Younger Knight comes in and saves him. The Older Knight is worried the Younger Knight is disappointed in him, but the Younger Knight is just happy to have him back alive.
- The prompt above, but with the roles reversed! Maybe the Younger Knight also figured the Older Knight would be angry at him for still making stupid rookie mistakes after all this time, but the Older Knight is just glad to have him back.
- The two of them riding into battle together or going on a quest together or even taking on a diplomatic challenge of some sort would be great. Do the heightened emotions bring out their feelings?
- If this is a more fantastical situation where knights go off on quests all the time, I would love for them to go on a quest together and do heroic deeds (and get closer in the process).
- How would two well-known, respected knights court each other (or how does one court the other)?
- A stressful situation in a battle where one of them goes down and the other races in to save the other, or one of them (perhaps the Older Knight, thinking he’s had a longer life and it makes sense?) goes on a suicide run to save the battle, but afterwards is unexpectedly saved by the Younger Knight at the last second through a skilful manoeuvre?
Lighthousekeepers and Mermen
- I love the whole classical aesthetic that could go with these prompts, stormy grey beaches and the wind blowing in the old lighthouse and a lonely keeper wandering the rocky coast, all that stuff. If any of that makes it into the story, I’d be thrilled. However, I’d also be very interested to hear about a lighthouse on a warmer coast, maybe in the Caribbean, Africa, or Greece. And, of course, it doesn’t have to be a lighthouse in an actual existent country at all. If this is a fantasy story, maybe merpeople are an expected part of the job?
- Did the Merman get hurt by humans, maybe hunted for his pretty fins or accidentally caught by fishermen, or was he left stranded on a sunny day by a huge wave? Or was it other merpeople who hurt him?
- What happened to the Lighthousekeeper if he’s the one being saved? He is probably quite a good swimmer with that job, but maybe a storm toppled his boat or something? Maybe someone actually tried to kill him and dropped the body into the sea?
- Is the Lighthousekeeper a loner and only slowly starts to warm up to the Merman? Or is he smitten immediately?
- Do humans and merpeople know of each other’s existence and interact frequently – maybe the Lighthousekeeper has to deal with the Merman’s whole family and friends? Or do merpeople not usually reveal themselves to humans and are myths, or at the very least known to be very reclusive?
- What did the love confession between these two look like?
- Can they only have sex in the water or at the beach or does the Merman have some way to survive on land for longer periods of time? Would love something about them figuring out each other’s anatomy here. The Lighthousekeeper probably hasn’t slept with a merman before (or has he?), but is it the Merman’s first experience with a human? Or maybe the Merman playfully drags the keeper off his boat at some point to pretend-ravish him like the dangerous sea creature he is (maybe there’s legends about merpeople doing that sort of thing).
- I’d love a story about the Merman and the Lighthousekeeper deep into an established friendship or even relationship, too. What are the little things they do for each other? Maybe the keeper brings the Merman some human food he likes whenever he can, maybe the Merman drives the cute seals to the shore for the Lighthousekeeper to watch.
- The Merman and the Lighthousekeeper work together saving humans/boats who are lost or shipwrecked out on the sea close to the lighthouse (if merpeople aren’t known, the keeper later tells the rescued humans they must have imagined that fish-tailed man they figured they saw).
Aliens And Humans In Space
- The Human has never met the species of alien that his Alien Neighbour is before and is instantly attracted to him. The Alien Neighbour notices and decides he’s definitely up for a bit of fun. However, since they’re neighbours and the sex was good, the temptation to do it again is easy to give in to and suddenly they’re also hanging out together.
- The Human has actually lived in a pretty small town on Earth and has never been off Earth nor has met any aliens before. What made him move away? Does the Alien Neighbour take pity on this total newbie to intergalactic society and help him around the place? Do they get closer like that?
- Maybe the Human is someone a bit older and jaded who left Earth because he wanted to start a new life somewhere. He might not have had any ambitions to make friends, but you can’t really help running into your neighbours every once in a while, so things go from there.
- Has the Alien Neighbour also recently moved to this place and is still getting his bearings? What reasons did he have to leave where he was? Do the reasons help him relate to the Human?
- Maybe the Alien Neighbour has been there for a long while. Why did he come and why did he stick around? Does he help the Human to find his footing and tells him of all the best places to be?
- Or maybe this is the homeworld of this alien species. In that case, is the Human perhaps there as a researcher or because he took a job that needed his highly specific skills? That might make him quite interesting to the Alien Neighbour, especially if not too many outsiders live on his homeworld.
- They keep running into each other because they both live in a sort of chaotic house with a lot of difficult tenants and they always end up being the one helping their neighbours, breaking up fights, keeping people from throwing each other’s things (or each other) out of the windows, catching escaped pets and toddlers, and repairing broken banisters and stuff. The Alien Neighbour is quite happy to have someone else around who is helpful and they get along quickly.
- Staple trope, but the two of them accidentally adopt a stray cat or some stray alien pet together, since it keeps coming to both of them to get fed, and now they have reasons to talk.
- For smut, of course I would love an Alien Neighbour who uses his tentacles hentai-style and a Human who is very into that (or perhaps was a bit apprehensive at first, but then quickly learns of the advantages). However, I could also see an Alien Neighbour whose tentacles function more as extra limbs and so he can hold the Human down for sex without even using his hands (if he has additional ones, at least) if they’re both into D/s stuff; on the other hand, if you would like the Human to be a little more in control, a lot of tentacles make for a lot of places to grab the Alien Neighbour and restrict him (sort of like advanced hair-pulling). Or alternatively, if they’re more the fluffy kind, the Alien Neighbour can give the best multi-limbed hugs.
- Perhaps when the Alien Soldier first appears, the people on whatever colony on the farming world he’s attached to are a bit afraid: he might look pretty fearful and battle-hardened, he isn’t exactly a ball of fluff, and perhaps he’s a type of alien they’re not used to (and might be very tall/have fangs and claws/generally look more like he’s about to eat them rather than protect them). However, the Space Sheep Herder is completely unfazed and wants to make him feel comfortable in his new home.
- One his patrol route, the Alien Soldier always passes by the Space Sheep Herders house/pasture and they always talk briefly – just to assess the situation. Little by little, however, the Alien Soldier opens up to him.
- The Alien Soldier protects the Space Sheep Herder and/or his neighbours from an attack. He wins, but gets quite hurt in the process. The Space Sheep Herder comes by every day to check on him. The Alien Soldier probably says it’s unnecessary – with medical technology being as it is, he doesn’t also need hot soup and fresh fruit to heal. He doesn’t not eat it either, though...
- What made the Alien Soldier so jaded in the first place? Does he have PTSD from the wars that he fought in? Maybe he lost many friends over the years? All the fighting just got to him eventually? Perhaps he already came from a war-torn world? All of the above? He probably doesn’t tell many people, but eventually, he opens up to the Space Sheep Herder.
- The Space Sheep Herders sheep are let out of their barn by some prankster. The Space Sheep Herder is inconsolable and though the Alien Soldier knows he’s not too poor to simple replace some lost sheep, he spends a day running all over the place helping him find every single sheep because he can’t bear to see the Space Sheep herder sad.
- Or maybe the space sheep produce rather expensive, high-quality wool and are hard to raise, so it’s an achievement that the Space Sheep Herder has a whole herd. It also makes him a target for thieves, though. The Alien Soldier is not above taking down sheep-stealing space pirates.
- The Alien Soldier settling in on the world and, with the help of the Space Sheep Herder, integrating with local society would be fun!
- I would also like to see the Alien Soldier quietly pining away, thinking the Space Sheep Herder is just nice to him because he’s nice to everyone. However, while the Space Sheep Herder is generally friendly, he does have a special place in his heart for the Alien Soldier. How does the Alien Soldier figure this out?
- I’d love to see a date between the two of them, or maybe just a quiet evening where they hang out at the Space Sheep Herder’s or take a stroll along a safer patrol route.
- As for smut, I would love for the Alien Soldier and the Space Sheep Herder to get to relax and have fun together. Loving, gentle sex would be just as appreciated as wild, passionate sex. Since this is a farming world, sex in nature would also be a great idea. For a scenario involving a somewhat longer (sexual) relationship, I’d also be interested in the Alien Soldier always topping because that’s what he’s used to, but the Space Sheep Herder gently convinces him to try out bottoming and the Alien Soldier finds he really enjoys that with the Space Sheep Herder, too.
- Perhaps the two of them start out as FWB pretty early on, but then fall in love. Is the Space Sheep Herder worried the closed-off Alien Soldier won’t want more? Does the Alien Soldier think the Space Sheep Herder should find someone less broken than him? How can they get together?
- Since the Younger Captain stopped being a mentee and became a pro himself, perhaps they lost sight of each other for a while and meet again years later? Maybe the Younger Captain already had a crush on Older Captain back in the day, but the Older Captain found him a bit too green or didn’t even notice. Now the Younger Captain returns and has really grown into a competent pro and the Older Captain finds himself accidentally smitten.
- The Older Captain and the Younger Captain have worked together since the Younger Captain was his mentee and have become fast friends over the years. There may now also be a new emotion threading into their relationship, though (or the Younger Captain always had a bit of a crush, but now the Older Captain is starting to return it).
- The two of them racing each other in speeders! Whether they’re racing pros or that’s just something they do for fun because it’s adjacent to what they actually do. Maybe there’s a wager about what the winner can ask of the loser?
- If they’re military or mercenaries, maybe the Older Captain is captured by someone and tortured/threatened with death. While he’s holding out for now, he’s pretty sure he’s not getting out of that one. Then the Younger Captain comes in and saves him. The Older Captain is worried the Younger Captain is disappointed in him, but the Younger Captain is just happy to have him back alive.
- The prompt above, but with the roles reversed! Maybe the Younger Captain also figured the Older Captain would be angry at him for still making stupid rookie mistakes after all this time, but the Older Captain is just glad to have him back.
- The two of them teaming up! Maybe there are space ships that require two pilots and the two of them are uniquely suited to work together, or they’re flying two small ships next to each other and proving their skills.
- The two of them exploring unknown regions of space together, finding new planets, meeting new aliens... all the fun of space exploration!
- What does it look like when two ace space pilots go on a date?
- A stressful situation in a battle where one of their ships gets blasted to pieces and the other races in to save the other, or one of them (perhaps the Older Captain, thinking he’s had a longer life and it makes sense?) goes on a suicide run to save the battle, but afterwards is unexpectedly saved by the Younger Captain at the last second through a skilful manoeuvre?
- Maybe someone, possibly someone who took part in wiping out the rest of the alien’s people, has vested interest in the alien not getting to give birth to children. The alien and the human have to get themselves to safety.
- I could also see the alien being a jaded soldier/mercenary type who accidentally gets pregnant and now has to try to fit that into his life somehow. Is the human the same type of person or someone from a very different strata of society? How do they handle this?
- Maybe the human is a soldier/mercenary/other type of person who might wander around destroyed planets who finds the alien hiding somewhere from the total destruction that wiped out everyone else and they fall in love.
- The alien hired the human or otherwise made some deal with him to get his genes to have kids. The human didn’t think it’d be any more complicated than that, neither did the alien. They didn’t count on getting along so well.
- The human was hired to do this by the alien and agreed because he had debts to pay. Against his will, the alien gets pulled into the human’s story (where did he get those debts?) and suddenly it’s not just business anymore.
- The alien has resigned himself to the end of his species, but him and the human find out by accident that yes, humans also count among those who can impregnate this alien species.
- The human is an archaeologists who frees the alien, found among the forgotten relics of an ancient civilisation, from his stasis. They get closer as the human helps him to adjust to the world. Alternatively, maybe it’s someone who just works at the dig site/archaeological facility, like a security guard or someone from the cleaning service, who makes a connection where the researchers couldn’t.
- The human and the alien have a meet-cute and get to know each other the normal way. Maybe the human is a simple guy who isn’t into intergalactic politics and all that and doesn’t even realise that he’s basically speaking to a unicorn until someone points it out (the alien probably just wanted to talk about something else than his sad, lonely, last-of-a-kind situation for once and was happy to have a friend/boyfriend who just generally seemed to like him).
- They just wanted to sleep together to make kids due to an arrangement between them. They didn’t expect it to be this hot.
- This alien species has better hormone balance during pregnancy if there are frequent sexual encounters. He asks the human if he’d help out with that, too, and the human is very willing.
- They’re a couple or FWB when they decide to get pregnant and have some very enthusiastic sexual encounters involving impregnation kink.
- If they have never been with someone of their respective species, the human and the alien exploring each other’s anatomy would be fun.
- The alien and the human are pining like a forest while pretending that this thing between them was totally just business.
- The pregnancy was an accident for an alien and human who were just FWB, but there are other feelings which have developed as well.
- The pregnancy is hard on the alien. The human, who just thought he’d be around for the sperm donation, finds himself caring way too much.
- The human gets hurt for helping the alien procreate by people who wanted to erase the alien’s species. The alien (if he’s a soldier/mercenary type) shows them that being pregnant doesn’t stop him from protecting people he cares about.
- The alien dealing emotionally with possibly not being the last anymore and the human helping along would be interesting.
- Pregnancy fluff is absolutely appreciated here.
- If this alien is a “thawed out after many years” type of last survivor, it would be fun for the human to show him the new world and learn about the alien’s people, too.
- A more hardened set of alien and human (soldiers/mercenaries/etc.) getting to slow down a bit and enjoy civilian life during the pregnancy would be great.
- If they are both emperors, then I assume their realms will merge now, or at least become closely allied so that a potential heir would eventually rule over both. That sounds like a lot of paperwork after the initial decision, to be honest. Perhaps these drawn-out discussions are when they get to know each other from a different side?
- The Human Emperor and the Alien Emperor have clashed on the battlefield in person many times, perhaps have even given each other scars or lasting injuries. How do they work on their relationship becoming more amiable? Or did they think they would just be strictly political spouses, but despite everything, they start to like each other?
- As above, but their frequent clashes have already given them a fascination and grudging respect for the other that they’re interested in pursuing further.
- The war was started by their parents (or other predecessors), but before that, the relationship between the empires was good. The Human Emperor and the Alien Emperor perhaps even knew each other as children or grew up in the same court and were childhood friends, or even had an early teenage puppy crush on each other, but then the war tore them apart. What is it like to be reunited after all these years?
- Perhaps there are people in one or both empires who want to keep the war going for one reason or another. An assassination attempt on one of them would be an interesting way to force them to work together, especially if they can’t be sure if their partner wasn’t also involved in the machinations that caused it (though I’d prefer it if they weren’t). Or maybe one also saves the other from the assassination and that’s how they first establish trust?
- Maybe they needed to end the war quickly because a third, more powerful foe has appeared. The two of them taking that enemy on together (whether on the battlefield or with diplomacy) would be great to see.
- I love couples with matching and couples with complementary skills! Maybe they’re both great warriors or skilled diplomats, or one is the former and the other the latter? Perhaps one is very good with numbers and economic matters and the other has better people skills and they realise this makes them very effective at ruling together? Maybe they’re both accomplished space ship pilots and bond over it? Anything like that would be fun.
- How different are their cultures? How much do they know about their respective cultures? That learning experience and the two of them navigating their different expectations would be great, whether it’s about small or big matters.
- With marriages like this, I also always love it when the people start out thinking it’s one hundred per cent a political matter and act accordingly, then fall in love and mutually pine because they are convinced the other doesn’t love them. How do they figure it out?
- But maybe they do decide to consummate the marriage for some cultural reason and it turns out to be a mind-blowing night that throws a wrench in their plans of a lukewarm political marriage because it opens the door to another path.
Humans and Robots
- The Android and the Security Guard talk almost every evening when most other employees are already home. Perhaps the Security Guard never understood how people can fall in love with robots, but after weeks and months of these chats, he’s beginning to really get it.
- The Android may not have considered love before, maybe he wasn’t even fully aware that he was sentient. However, his feelings for the Security Guard make him realise that he seems to have escaped his basic programming in this regard.
- If the Android is considered just another form of life and is a normal employee, I would love the two of them going on dates, figuring out how to navigate a human/android relationship, and just generally being a sweet couple.
- If the Android is company property but would really like not to work there, maybe the Security Guard eventually escapes with him and they run away together?
- Maybe the Security Guard is in security because he used to run with a tougher crowd back in the day (he was either a small-time criminal or a mercenary or something). Perhaps one night, these people from the past come to make trouble and the Android surprisingly manages to defuse the situation.
- The Security Guard gets hurt doing his job. It’s not that bad of an injury, but the worried Android insists on getting the first aid kit, disinfecting the wound, and so on.
- Or maybe it is a pretty severe injury and the Android sits over the Security Guard while they’re waiting for the ambulance. Perhaps one of them makes a confession in that emotionally charged moment?
- The Android is taken hostage or people are trying to kidnap him for all that juicy financial information that he’s carrying in his head. The Security Guard manages to free him.
- For smut, I would love to see the Android explore his sexuality with the Security Guard if he hasn’t had occasion to do so before, and the Security Guard being very happy to help. However, I could also see the Android having experiences already and the Security Guard being the one who is new to sex with a non-human. Is the Android for all intents and purposes human-like, or are there some differences?
Generals in Love
- Did the Winning General have a hand in making the match? I’d rather not have hard noncon/dubcon elements here, so if he did, did he perhaps do it to spare the Opposing General from a worse fate, like execution or marriage to a much worse match? Is the Opposing General aware of this or does he only learn about it during the course of the story?
- Maybe the Winning General is just as shocked as the Opposing General when the match is made. It’s an honour, of course, because the Opposing General is a highly respected man, but he did not expect this reward for his service.
- Perhaps it is simply tradition in their culture(s) that victors marry honourable foes and both of them are somewhat wary of the situation this will create, but expect it.
- If the war was a civil war or a war between former allies, perhaps the generals knew each other before the war and maybe even had a short relationship or FWB thing going on? What is it like to meet again now?
- Of course, I would love to see them interact. Do they already know each other as people or only as opponents? Were they aware that they get along quite well or is that a surprise?
- They both expected to enter a relatively cold political marriage, but end up being a very good match. How do they navigate this new relationship that becomes more intimate than they expected?
- They decided not to consummate the marriage on the wedding night and only pretend that they did, but as they get to know each other, they start to pine and wish that they had a reason to go into the other’s bed and prove to them that they would make a good couple (in this way and others). How do they figure it out?
- Both agreed for cultural/traditional reason that they want to consummate the wedding night if there is to be one, but they did not expect the sex to be this good. They didn’t plan on making this marriage anything but a political thing, but now they can’t stop thinking about this and they also like each other.
- Perhaps there is a new foe that the two generals now have to take on together and that is what turns their marriage from a tentative political thing into a real relationship as they have a reason to spend time and work together.
- Smut is always appreciated, of course, whether it is an unexpectedly hot wedding night or whether it’s passionate sex that follows prolonged mutual pining. If these two have slept together before the war, what is different now after all this time spent fighting? Do they go at it roughly like you might expect two soldiers to do, or are there unexpectedly tender moments?
- I’d also love for there to be hints in the story of how they influenced each other’s lives over the years, whether that’s them thinking back to battles they have fought together, owning things the other has gifted them and keeping them in high regard, significant life changes they made for the other or because of their advice, or things like their grown children (if they or one of them has some) thinking of the general that isn’t their father almost as of an uncle.
- Are they the same age and used to roughly be at similar stages of their life at similar times? Or maybe these two used to have a significant age gap (met when the Human General was thirty and the Alien General was twenty or so), but now that they’re, idk, 65 and 55, it really isn’t that relevant anymore – though the Human General might still tease the Alien General about it sometimes.
- These two don’t seem to be retired yet, so of course, like always with battle couples, I would love to see them planning and fighting battles together, whether on the ground or in space! Do they have complementary skills? Maybe one is an ace pilot and the other one a great gunner? Maybe they’re just both really good with a laser gun and still fight on the front lines? Maybe one is a master strategist and the other an amazing on-the-field leader? Whatever it is, I’m sure they can still show the whippersnappers how it’s done.
- The two of them figured they would be living out their last years until retirement in relative peace, but then a new foe comes around the corner and suddenly it’s all out space war again. In this tumultuous time, these two realise their feelings for each other.
- Or maybe retirement is actually an option and the Human General or the Alien General decides that they’re going to move closer to the other if they have been stationed on different planets or otherwise far apart before. This is a new experience for them and the proximity actually makes them realise how much closer they’d like to be.
- Do aliens and humans age differently? Maybe the Alien General’s species is built so that they barely slow down at all until right before death, so the Human General is having a little trouble keeping up at that point. The Alien General might tease him, but he always takes care not to make the Human General strain himself too much.
- On the other hand, I’d also like to see both of them slowing down a little and maybe picking up some interests that aren’t warfare together. This could also open their eyes to a new way of seeing their friend.
- Smut would be great, of course. I’m assuming both of these men have a fair bit of experience and would be happy to treat the other person to a demonstration. Are there significant differences between alien and human biology and how do they work around them or even make use of them in the bedroom? I would love to see them exploring each other, too, and using the close knowledge they have of the other person to make sex even better, while also being happy to learn new things.
Revolutionaries and the Men who Love Them
Leader of Revolution in Cyberpunk World/Powerful Businessman Who Is Seduced To His Side (M/M)
- Is the Businessman being literally seduced to the Leader’s side? Maybe the Leader is a pragmatist who decided the Businessman is an important cog in the machine that he wants control of. However, as he gets closer to him, unwanted feelings start creeping in.
- Perhaps the Businessman also knows he’s being seduced on purpose and is just toying with the Leader at first, but eventually he realises that the Leader was still very effective because the businessman is in love.
- However, I could also see this being a more figurative idea of seduction, where the Businessman is perhaps seduced by the Leader’s bold ideas and ideals and strong personality, something he otherwise cannot find in the crapsack Cyberpunk world they live in.
- I would love it if being the Leader of a Cyberpunk revolution also meant doing community outreach and helping people and basically being not as much of a dirtbag as the CEOs and corrupt politicians and gang leaders who otherwise rule the world. Perhaps the Businessman cannot but help admire the Leader’s dogged helpfulness.
- How does the Businessman help the Revolution? He’s powerful, so he may decide that it’s best for him to stay in the system and change things from there. His involvement with the Revolution has to stay hidden at that point, just like his relationship with the Leader.
- Perhaps the Businessman does break away from whatever megacorporation he’s working at and him defecting and loudly going in for the Leader causes a lot of uncertainty among business types and helps the Revolution because he was actually a very important man.
- The Businessman could also use his likely considerable skills and connections to get the Revolution more money and some structure.
- The two of them debating philosophy, economics, the human condition over drinks, whether in a seedy bar or at the Businessman’s penthouse.
- In a physical altercation, the Leader is probably a lot better equipped to deal damage than the Businessman. He beats up some people who came to kill him, the Businessman, or other revolutionaries (or just wanted to cause trouble for innocents and the Leader won’t stand for that) and the Businessman can’t help being in awe of the Leader’s strength and skill.
- Hurt/Comfort with the Leader having to heal after such an attack as in the above prompt and the Businessman making sure he gets the best care.
- Smut would of course work very well here, especially if the Leader is seducing the Businessman on purpose and bringing all his skills to the table. However, I would also like to see the loving and/or passionate sex that unfolds afterwards or in case there was never any sexual seduction going on and they just ended up accidentally falling for each other. Since this is Cyberpunk, perhaps the Businessman has some fancy implants that could be helpful for sex, too? Or perhaps the Leader also has some, though they’re probably considerably less high-end.
- Why are the peasants revolting? Perhaps they have been starving for years because of oppressive tithes/taxes or the king conscripts them for unnecessary wars or the king’s men are mistreating commoners regularly. And how did the Leader rise up? Maybe his family/friends were killed and/or his farm burned by a brutal lord or knights and he had nothing left to lose? Maybe it was just a reaction to the general injustice and because he’s proactive he suddenly found himself leading the charge?
- How has the Nobleman reacted to the peasant revolt? If he’s considered an even somewhat likely ally, he probably didn’t come down as hard as others. Does he have his own reasons to be dissatisfied with the king, too? Does he have sympathy for the peasants, or at least shrewdly understands that you get better results and less revolutions if you don’t work your people to the bone?
- If the Leader can offer a crown or a seat on whatever council he’s trying to instate as a ruling power, the Nobleman would have a good reason to go for it. Maybe that’s his initial motivation, or maybe he’s immediately taken with the courage and skill of the Leader? Or does he first consider him a thug and a means to an end, but then comes to sympathise with his plight and find him interesting as a person?
- As the Leader and the Nobleman hash out the details of their arrangement, they start to get to know each other better.
- Perhaps the Leader knows they need support desperately and the Nobleman seems to still be on the fence, so he makes an attempt to seduce him? The Nobleman is intrigued, though probably too clever to go for it, but he might decide to turn the tables on the Leader to make him manageable... except as they both try to manipulate and seduce the other, they both accidentally fall in love.
- The Leader and the Nobleman fighting side by side would be great. Does the Nobleman have any talent as a knight? If yes, it should be interesting to see him adapt to fighting alongside someone who has no formal education carrying a sword.
- Or maybe the Nobleman is more of a diplomat and schemer and the Leader is the fighter between them. The Leader saving the Nobleman’s life in some situation, perhaps even getting hurt himself as he does, would be exciting.
- Perhaps to make sure that the Nobleman doesn’t forget to keep the peasants in mind once he’s on the throne, it’s decided by the other top personnel of the revolt that he should marry the Leader.
- Smut of any sort is very appreciated here. Are they still trying to impress and/or seduce each other in bed or kind of watching their backs because they’re fascinated with the other, but don’t trust them yet? Or do they only start sleeping together once they are in love? I’d also love to see the shift from one to the other and how that changes their sex life. Also, perhaps the Nobleman is of the hedonistic sort and has a lot of peculiar experiences that he shares with the Leader? Or the Leader does things that for some reason or another are not culturally appropriate to do/have done to you for a nobleman (imagine a culture where, for example, blowjobs are considered crass or something like that) and the Nobleman very much enjoys it.
- When the Right Hand Man first met the Leader, he expected to be disappointed, but in fact, the Leader was even more winning in person than he had been from afar/from holovideo/from other people’s stories. The Right Hand Man wants to help his cause, but he’s undoubtedly also smitten.
- The Leader is used to holding the reins and somewhat sceptical of having a Right Hand Man at first. However, the Right Hand Man proves how clever and useful he can be and, in the process, also makes the Leader personally interested in him.
- The Leader and the Right Hand Man fighting or doing diplomacy together, generally being competent and very into each other because of it.
- I imagine in most settings that are martial, the Leader would have to have some fighting talent to be as respected as he is, but maybe his Right Hand Man is more of a man-behind-the-curtain type of personality who deals with logistics? I’m sure the Leader would very much appreciate such help and talents, even if the Right Hand Man perhaps wonders if his lack of prowess makes him less interesting to the Leader (it does not).
- The Leader probably has to uphold morale and appear strong and without concern before almost everybody, friend and enemy alike. With the Right Hand Man, he can be a little less careful. He probably does not do it from the start, though, so I’d also like to see the first time when the Right Hand Man accidentally catches the Leader letting down his guard and then proves to the Leader that he doesn’t always have to be perfect for him.
- The Leader is ambushed or leads an attack. He comes out the victor, but it’s a hard-won fight he left with a lot of wounds and bruises. While people were still watching him, he keeps it together, but he breaks down when he’s with the Right Hand Man, who does his best to pick up the pieces and help him without causing a panic among the rebellion.
- The Leader pulls them out of an almost impossible situation or turns a seemingly sure loss into a victory. The Right Hand Man just being absolutely into his competence and at once proud and inspired would be great.
- I would love passionate sex between the two after a dangerous battle or attack that they both made it out of alive against the odds. The two of them having sex after a long time of being friends and/or leader and right-hand-man would also be great, just seeing that need for each other which the pining probably caused. If you want to do something more character-focused, maybe the Leader does feel the need to be in some way still what the Right Hand Man expects of him and thus doesn’t fully relax during sex so he can still play his role (and/or perhaps he never bottoms because he figures he needs to be the strong leader, or never says when anything hurts, etc.), until the Right Hand Man figures him out and eases his concerns.
A/B/O
- Have the Elf and the Dwarf perhaps always known each other? The Elf could be a noble and the Dwarf the smith’s son/later smith himself who grew up in elven territory or always visited with his father/mother to show their wares. Or perhaps the Dwarf is a mercenary hired by the travelling Elf for protection? He could also only just have moved close to the Elf’s city/village/forest dwelling place and the local elves are all quite intrigued with the newcomer (though of course none would ever think about lying with a short, sturdy, hairy Dwarf omega... well, none but one). Or is the Elf perhaps an ambassador to a dwarven court and the Dwarf owns a tavern where the nobles like to drink or is one of the royal guards? Or could they even both be princes?
- I’m sure there’s some cultural differences between elves and dwarves, concerning, well, everything, but also the A/B/O matters. How do they navigate them? Are they very interested, do they tease each other, do they try out all their differing customs?
- Differing court ship rituals! Either as a source of romance or as a source of (hopefully eventually resolved) confusion. Something like that the Elf might recognise that a pretty brooch handed to him is a hopeful gift, but perhaps the Dwarf does not quite grasp why he now constantly finds a single white flower placed on his anvil/machine room panel.
- Maybe these two are married to each other for diplomatic purposes. How do they get used to each other? How does the wedding night go?
- Perhaps these two meet not at home, but in a war setting. The Elf could be an archer or a bard and the Dwarf is a warrior or a smith following the army. Are they quick to grow friendly with each other or are they competitive?
- Maybe the Elf comes from a very reclusive group who has never seen much of dwarves and vice versa; or dwarves have just recently left their underground homes to explore topside for the first time. Is it perhaps not the way of elven omegas to fight and the Elf is quite shocked (and intrigued) to find out about the Dwarf’s nature when he sees how he handles a weapon?
- Perhaps the Elf and the Dwarf had a short, passionate tryst and then separated again and the next time they meet, the Dwarf is pregnant. The Elf decides he wants to stay around and through this longer contact, they actually realise they really like each other.
- For smut, I love the usual A/B/O staples of heat and rut sex, but would also really appreciate the two of them getting together outside of these emotional high times. For a first time, them being interested in the other’s physique, likely having never been with one of their species before, would also be fun. Perhaps there are also some other differences than just looks, like male dwarven omegas perhaps having a vagina in addition to their penis where male elven omegas do not, or vice versa?
- The Omega is a security guard and the Alpha is a librarian. The Omega keeps carrying book stacks for the Alpha in hopes that he will notice him, the Alpha figures the Omega thinks he’s too weak to deal with them.
- The Omega is a mercenary and the Alpha is the person who keeps hiring him. Maybe the bodyguard jobs are sometimes a bit unnecessary, but the Alpha just likes having him around... (But an instance where they become very necessary and the Omega heroically defends the Alpha would also be appreciated, of course.)
- The Omega comes from a fearful-looking, tall alien species that has only just made first contact with humans. He’s tasked to trail the human Alpha, a somewhat frightened researcher who was allowed to live with the aliens. How do they start to get along?
- The Omega is a Knight and the Alpha is a nobleman/king. The Alpha is good at ruling but not that great with a sword. He has Omega for that and though other people do sometimes mock him because his retinue is headed by an Omega who the Alpha can’t even beat in a sparring match, they usually don’t laugh anymore when they had to face the Omega in a fight or tourney for the first time.
- The Alpha is a distinguished university professor in a Victorian or Steampunk setting, the Omega is a working class man who he keeps running into at the shop/who helps around the university/who repairs the Alpha’s old mansion. They are endlessly attracted to each other, but the Omega doesn’t want the Alpha to think he just wants rank and money from being with him, and the Alpha doesn’t want the Omega to think that he wants to wield his rank and money to get him. Can they figure it out?
- The Omega and the Alpha are arranged to marry and each are worried that the other one won’t think they are attractive. Do they figure out on the wedding night that they are really into each other or does it take some more mutual pining to get there?
- Generally, a trope I’d enjoy here are the Omega and Alpha needlessly mutually pining because they think for some reason that the other one would prefer a more stereotypical omega/alpha, and eventually figure out there was no reason for it.
- However, it would also be fun to see an Omega and an Alpha who go a bit against stereotype, but where one or both of them are totally confident regardless and mercilessly flirt with the other, who is very up for it.
- For smut, I enjoy the A/B/O staples of heat sex and rut sex. The Omega riding and (lovingly) manhandling the Alpha would be fun, but I’d also enjoy the Alpha managing to handle the Omega despite his lesser physical strength and wrapping him around his finger.
Pairings with Egg-Children
King/His Loyal Male Knight & Baby That Comes Out Of The Ancient Egg The Knight Found On Quest
This is such a cute and interesting version of baby acquisition and I would love to read about how the King and the Male Knight deal with the egg and the child that emerges from it. Did they know that this would be a thing or is it a surprise? Are they already together or is this what brings them together? Is the baby a normal human baby or does it have dragon features or wings or something else that you might expect from a baby that came out of an egg?
- Was the Knight on a random quest and got this egg as a reward for something he did? Does he know that there’s a baby in there or does he bring it back to his King thinking it’s just pretty/looks valuable and would make a good gift?
- If they don’t what the egg contains, the King and Knight could reasonably expect that such an old egg would long be dead and just keep it as a pretty keepsake. Then, suddenly, the egg starts cracking.
- Maybe the King has heard a story about these mysterious ancient eggs and he sends his Knight to find out what’s going on there. The Knight manages to find one and as they still puzzle over it, the baby comes out of the egg.
- Or the King knew that there was a baby in there and he judges that adopting a mythical egg baby would probably count as an heir to people (even if it is not blood related), so that would leave him free to spend his life with the Knight instead of having to marry.
- It could be all the kings and queens of that country have been egg babies and acquiring one of these special eggs is what’s needed to get an heir or heirs of your own. The King sends his most trusted Knight to find the egg and the they sit with bated breath as they wait for it to hatch.
- The two of them dealing with the child that destiny dropped in their lap and figuring out how to parent, which also brings them closer.
- Maybe they are trying to find out how these ancient eggs even came into being and if there are more children in magic eggs waiting to be born.
- Perhaps this is a situation where magic has vanished from the world a long while ago, but this baby can actually do some random magic and will probably grow into a strong mage. I’d definitely be into the magic egg being a sort of harbinger of the return of magic to the universe.
- On the other hand, it’s also totally fine if this is just the egg that was someone’s magical experiment or belonged to some extinct species and the baby is special to the King and Knight mostly because they see it as their child.
- The Peasant is surprised to find a very pretty-looking egg in his field. Since it looks valuable, he brings it to his friendly Liege. The Liege things that the Peasant should keep it, the Peasant thinks it’s a bit too valuable for someone like him to just have sitting around. They might discuss this for a few days (they certainly don’t mind the excuse to see each other...), the Nobleman offers to sell it for him, the Peasant still thinks it’s too pretty and the Nobleman should keep it, and so on, until suddenly, the egg cracks and reveals a baby.
- Perhaps the Peasant has heard about babies in eggs like this before and recognises what the egg is. Excited, he runs to the Nobleman, knowing that he has wanted an heir for a while and a mythological ancient egg baby would be accepted as such by almost anyone. The Nobleman is very touched by the present and wants Peasant to also be around to raise the child.
- As above, but maybe they’re already together and the Peasant knows that if the Nobleman had an heir like this to raise, they could stay together.
- On the other hand, it’s also totally fine if this is just the egg that was someone’s magical experiment or belonged to some extinct species and the baby is special to the Peasant and Nobleman mostly because they see it as their child.
- The Mercenary finds these eggs and realises they’re eggs of the kind his lover’s species has, so he brings them home thinking his lover can keep them save until they find a good place for them. However, while they’re still trying to do that, the eggs hatch and the Mercenary and his Alien Lover get attached.
- Even if they’re not the same alien species as his lover, perhaps the Mercenary knows his lover is good at keeping things alive and wants him to have a look to see if these are salvageable. Turns out they very much are, they hatch very soon.
- Maybe the Mercenary basically brought these eggs home for dinner because he didn’t realise they were alive, but then they start hatching and the Mercenary and his Alien Lover realise it’s a very rare or even extinct species of alien. (Do not actually have them eat any of the eggs, please, lol.)
- Are the babies relatively helpless like human babies, or does this species of alien crawl all over creation as soon as they are out of the eggs?
- The Alien Lover and the Mercenary decide that they should probably find a stable place to stay as long as the kids are still very young, at least. The two of them deciding to make a home for themselves and the realisation that they really do want to stay together and all that comes with its would be really nice.
- What does the Alien Lover do, anyway? He is dating a mercenary, after all, so I can’t see him being to squeamish. Maybe he runs a bar in some mercenary hub city and the children’s lives probably won’t be super normal, as they’ll grow up crawling under the tables and watching one of their dads get paid for stealing or shooting criminals, but it would be interesting to see a very non-traditional family like that, too.
- However, maybe they also decide that they wanted to get the Mercenary out of his business before he inevitably got shot at some point, anyway, and then the scary Mercenary, his likely no less calming husband, and their adopted alien babies start a new life among somewhat concerned regular people a couple of star systems over.
