greygerbil on AO3, thank you for writing or drawing for me! Right from the start, I want to say you don’t have to do anything with my prompts, they’re just here in case you want some ideas. If it has my pairing and avoids my DNWs, I’m sure I’ll enjoy it! All ratings are great. I included a list of my general likes and smut likes which apply to all my requests. When it comes to kinks, you can include anything not listed under my DNWs.

Feel free to entirely erase the existence of canon relationships or break them up if they get in the way of the pairings I requested, whichever works best with what you’re trying to do.

Fic where the couple is not yet together but clearly in love, or on the road to getting together, or having their first time kissing/in bed together are great. However, so are established relationship fics. Whatever suits your ideas!

Some prompts may read like ideas for longer fics, but if you’re interested in them, please just grab a scene with the general idea out of the middle of those hypothetical longfics and write me that! I’d very much like to see my requested pairings in your style, but if you have a specific stylistic idea, that’s always super fun, too. SK8 the Infinity: Sakurayashiki Kaoru | Cherry Blossom tops Nanjo Kojiro | Joe

They’re like cat and dog and fight all the time, and yet you can immediately sense how important they are to each other. Whether you want to write them as long-term boyfriends or friends who have been pining for ages and only now figure it out, I’m happy about either. Fic set before, during, or after the show is all great. I’d prefer fic of them as adults, but prequel fic of them at school is also an option, though I’d like both of them to be at least eighteen years old if you’re going for smut. Flashbacks are always cool, though! I’d also be very interested in fic that happens in the years between them graduating school and being in the obviously quite established professional positions they are in during the show. For smut, I prefer bottom and sub Kojiro. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Kojiro. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Kojiro and alpha or beta Kaoru.

Kneeling

This is a favourite trope of mine for BDSM. Whether it’s for the purpose of giving a blowjob (or for any other sex act, of course), to show submission during a sex scene, or just something the sub is ordered to do while the Dom sits on the couch with a book in hand (potentially with his feet up on the sub’s shoulders), all is great.

The Dom tilting up the sub’s chin with his fingers, a sword, a riding crop, or whatever else is at hand is also great.

Kaoru gloating about the fact that Kojiro has to look up to him for once would be fun (because I love them, but these two are childish sometimes lol).

Collars

I love anything to do with collars. Whether it’s a spur-of-the-moment idea that they end up finding really hot or whether there’s some element to gifting the sub a collar that speaks to the stage of their relationship, either would be great. Of course, I also enjoy them playing with the collar, like tugging at it, tightening it a bit too much, directing the sub around by the collar, and so on.

Kojiro has to be professional in his day-to-day life, so he can’t really wear a collar around at work and such (or only if he hides it under his clothes), but with the wild style on Crazy Rock, he could totally add one to his “S” outfit without drawing too much attention. If Kaoru gave Kojiro that collar, did he tell Kaoru he would do so, or is it a surprise?

Or maybe they haven’t yet slept together, or at least not tried BDSM, but that new collar Kojiro is trying out for his outfit at “S” is doing things to Kaoru...

This is just very hot. Whether the Dom tells the sub to strip or this is something that arises from the situation (perhaps the sub just finished bathing or something), I would love to see it.

In many situations, describing Kojiro as ‘clothed’ is charitable, anyway. Maybe Kaoru plays on that? Half-seriously reminding him how little effort it takes to leave Kojiro undressed when he’s already undressed for his “S” outfit, and so on (you know Kaoru is secretly into it).

On the other hand, I bet Kojiro would also love to tease Kaoru if he knows this is a kink for Kaoru. You know he’s totally comfortable just striding naked into the living room on a bright summer day.

Bondage - Honor Bondage

Whether they do this because the Dom loves to test the sub’s obedience, or the sub enjoys proving how good they can be, or for another reason, I would love to read about it.

I also like the scenario that they stumble upon this kink because they just didn’t happen to have anything to do physical bondage with at the time, but then they realise they’re really into honor bondage, too.

Bondage - improvised bondage

This is also always fun! Are they spontaneously doing bondage in an unusual place, or did they just decide in a passionate moment that bondage was something they wanted to try? What do they end up using? Maybe they even end up liking what they did for its own sake (so, for example, they always use leather bands, but in this instance they only had old rope for actual farm work or a scarf or something, but somehow that ended up being hot, too, because it played into the scene or the texture made it all feel different).

Rope Bondage

I’m also very much into fic with classic rope bondage (feel free to interpret rope loosely here, as long as it fulfils the basic function of rope). Whether it’s really elaborate bondage or something simple like the sub getting their hands tied to the bedposts, all would be great.

Kojiro is quite a strong dude, so it’s probably unusual for him not to be able to muscle out of a situation. Does this make him nervous at first (and maybe was a reason he never tried it with anyone but Kaoru)? Or is it exactly what makes him so interested in bondage in the first place?

Kaoru is an artist and seems to like refined things, so I can totally see him being into shibari and either practicing on Kojiro or being already very good at it. Possibly there are also occasions where Kojiro wished Kaoru would get on with it while Kaoru was making sure the knots sit exactly right (did he actually get lost in the artistic process or was he teasing Kojiro?), but Kojiro still thinks it’s very hot.

Kaoru is so good at shibari that he actually instructs people sometimes at a discreet sex club. He might also be dressed up to protect his real identity a little more (some play on his “S” outfit or something totally different?). However, one night Kojiro happens to be there and whether Kaoru bothers with a disguise or not, Kojiro obviously recognises him immediately. Does Kaoru end up using him as a model, or show him some things in private? Or maybe they don’t make conversation about it at that point at all (maybe Kaoru doesn’t even notice him), but Kojiro cannot stop thinking about it and blurts out something about it the next time they are alone together.

Sex Toys - Wearing Them Under Clothes

This would be great, especially if it’s the kind where Kaoru ends up holding a remote. I bet he would have a lot of fun teasing Kojiro (while still probably knowing better than to make him ruin a customer’s meal or something, which Kojiro appreciates).

Did Kaoru design the sex toy himself because nothing on the market fit his exact specifications? Does it come with any special functions? (Is it somehow connected to CARLA... ?)

Kojiro seems unwise enough to get into a skateboard race with Kaoru while wearing a remote-controlled sex toy because they ended up squabbling again. Kaoru doesn’t want him to break his neck, but he will make things difficult for him to prove a point.

However, Kojiro teasing Kaoru with thirst trap pics showing the butt plug (or something along those lines) he is secretly wearing while Kaoru has to sit in meetings all day would be great, too. I bet Kaoru has something to say about that when they meet up in the evening.

Experienced Dom Character A Guides Character B Through First-Time Submission

Perhaps Kojiro had never seriously considered subbing before but when Kaoru suggests it or Kojiro realises Kaoru is a Dom, he is intrigued. Perhaps he’s wanted to, but because of some hang-ups regarding stereotypical masculinity and such, he ended up not doing it until Kaoru pushed him a little in a way Kojiro really only allows Kaoru to do. That, or maybe he’s always wanted to try, but when people want to sleep with him, very few of them think a big guy like him will sub (and they might not be interested in that), so Kojiro just never really had the chance.

How does the first time go? Is Kojiro nervous or very enthusiastic from the start? Does Kaoru start him off easy, or does their competitive nature rear its head here?

Does Kaoru get off on the idea that he’s going to train Kojiro to be his sub specifically, with no other Dom’s input? He wouldn’t actually mind if there had been others before him, of course, but in the moment it still makes him feel powerful.

Experienced Sub Character A Guides Character B Through First-Time Domination

However, I would also be interested in the reverse scenario where Kaoru has never Dommed before and Kojiro ends up introducing him to it. Maybe Kaoru was never that interested, but then he found out Kojiro has subbed before and suddenly he can’t stop thinking about it. Perhaps he was also a bit worried about some of the ideas that came into his head whenever he considered Domming (why would he want to hurt people, isn’t that bad?), but Kojiro reassures him it’s fine. That, or Kaoru as the beautiful, slender, refined artist he is tended to attract more dudes who wanted to Dom him, which wasn’t Kaoru’s thing, and so he ended up just not having the chance to Dom yet.

How does the first time go? Did Kaoru read up on things and does that end up helping him at all? Does Kojiro need to goad him into trying things or is Kaoru very forward? Is there a moment when Kaoru is hesitant to try something that might hurt Kojiro, but Kojiro can reassure him?

Dom Ashamed of Their Desires

Maybe the entire idea of Domming is a bit daunting to Kaoru – sure, he’s had sex before, and maybe a fuzzy pink pair of handcuffs was involved at some point, but this is real kink territory. Can Kojiro convince Kaoru to take the plunge? Maybe the fact that Kojiro thinks it’s cute Kaoru is worried about it, or just totally underreacts because he doesn’t think it’s weird at all makes Kaoru feel better, too.

Or Kaoru leans more towards the sadist side and his own desires tend to scare him. If it were only about bondage or dirty talk, that would be one thing, but that’s not where it stops for him. Does Kojiro notice Kaoru seems to be holding back (during sex in general, or when he Doms, if they already do that)? Maybe Kojiro convinces him to tell him what’s up and makes Kaoru feel better? It would be great if they could try out some of the stuff Kaoru is into, too.

Sub Ashamed of Their Desires

Perhaps Kojiro is somewhat conditioned to think that big strong men like him shouldn’t want to submit, or that it would be ridiculous somehow and no one would take that wish serious. Maybe it’s also just that he has never been into any harder kink before and he’s not even sure where to begin. That, or he’s very masochistic and worried that his desires would be too extreme even for someone who is into Domming. Can Kaoru get him to talk about these things? I would love it if Kaoru was supportive and enthusiastic about trying out what Kojiro wants, even if it is still couched in their usual squabbling (or maybe the way Kojiro knows that it’s fine is that Kaoru actually doesn’t tease for a little bit?).

Sub being made to admit sexual fantasies out loud (consensually but without prior negotiation)

Perhaps Kojiro is also ashamed about some specific fantasies or kinks he has and try as he might, Kaoru hasn’t been able to make him talk about them yet. However, there is a setting in which he gets to order Kojiro what to do, isn’t there? Perhaps this plays into some humiliation kink as well, or Kojiro is a bit more in the mood when he subs and finally dares to speak.

Kaoru reacting to the fantasies, either by immediately doing something simple Kojiro says he wants or by talking to Kojiro and just developing the fantasies further in a back and forth conversation, would also be very hot. (Also, I’m of course here for Kaoru putting one of the more elaborate fantasies into practice later, too.)

Sub with bad past experiences hesitant to try subbing again

I’m definitely fine with stuff that veers into abusive or even noncon here, so maybe Kojiro had his safeword ignored, or was even in a relationship where that happened several times, or continually found a partner pushing at his boundaries, or anything like that. That’s in the past now and Kojiro tried to brush it off and forget about subbing, but he also trusts no one on the planet more than Kaoru and Kaoru would like him to sub. However, to make sure things can work out well he’ll probably have to tell him about what happened. I’m sure despite all their squabbling, Kaoru will take it serious and make sure Kojiro is comfortable. (Alternatively, Kaoru already knows and is hesitant to ask about BDSM stuff because of it. How do they bring up the idea again?)

Maybe the bad experience was that Kojiro admitted his desire to sub to a lover/partner and was basically laughed out of the room because the other person thought someone as big and strong and self-confident as him should definitely not be into that sort of thing. This perhaps played into some conceptions about masculinity Kojiro already had and now he’s very hesitant to ever bring it up again. How does Kaoru find out? Does Kojiro eventually mention it, or let something slip by accident? Maybe Kaoru finds some porn Kojiro was looking at or a sex toy that points him in the right direction? One problem I could see here is that he might want to tease Kojiro, as that’s just how they are with each other, but Kojiro has a really negative reaction to that. I bet Kaoru and him could fix that situation, though, and Kaoru would be happy to Dom Kojiro, after all.

Dom breeds sub

This could be fictional breeding kink, where they are just playing out a scene, or an AU that is A/B/O or where Kojiro could get mpregnant for whatever other reason, where maybe they’re having a bit of kinky fun with the actual family planning.

Accidentally Ignored Safeword

Kaoru simply didn’t hear the safeword, or misunderstood it as something else, or there was some other miscommunication. However, when Kaoru doesn’t react, maybe Kojiro panics a bit, and instead of repeating himself he tries to free himself, or end the scene another way (depending on what they are doing)? Either way, I’m sure it’s something that’s shocking to both of them – Kojiro still dealing with whatever made him safeword to begin with, and Kaoru feeling very guilty that he failed to hear the safeword and trying to help Kojiro. Mutual comfort and reassurance here would be nice! Maybe they can come down together by doing something comforting (whatever that means for them)?

Aftercare

Aftercare is also a trope I really enjoy. What do they do? Just stay around and cuddle for a bit? Clean up together? Maybe eat something? Perhaps it’s something a little unexpected, like Kojiro enjoys cooking for Kaoru while Kaoru sticks around in the kitchen.

Just as much as the sub needing aftercare, I also like stories where the sub tends to be fine after a scene, but the Dom is the one who gets really nervous and unwell if he cannot make sure his sub is fine. This is especially interesting if the Dom didn’t even realise this at first (they were doing aftercare because they’re a good Dom!), but when it doesn’t happen for some reason, they notice it’s actually important for them, too.

Generally, fics where for some reason (important business call, etc.), they have to stop the scene without aftercare are interesting. The characters didn’t think it would affect them too badly, but one or both of them end up really unhappy with it. Delayed aftercare would be great!

BDSM AU - Dom thinks they're pining for another Dom-it turns out their crush is a Sub

If your nature is something that is revealed only during the late teenage/early adulthood years, then maybe everybody expected Kojiro, who is a bit of a late-bloomer, to end up as a Dom (likely including Kojiro), and Kaoru figures that there’s pretty much no chance for them to be compatible. However, it turns out that expectation was false.

Or maybe Kojiro panics when he finds out because it’s so not what he expected and then procedes to hide the fact even from his best friend. How long does it take them to untangle this?

A/B/O: Alpha in rut needs complete submission from omega

Is this something that just happens for alphas in general? Or is it something that’s inherent to Kaoru’s personality more than his nature and surprises Kojiro at first? Either way, Kojiro will happily indulge him (though he might still tease him about it afterwards).

A/B/O: Omega in heat needs complete dominance from alpha

On the flipside, maybe it’s Kojiro who really needs his alpha to dominate him during the heat. Is this something that’s common to all omegas, or something that’s more a personal factor for Kojiro? If it’s the latter, does he readily ask for it or does Kaoru need to coax it out of him because Kojiro is a bit ashamed? However it goes, I would love it if Kaoru fulfilled his wish.

A/B/O - Alpha Domming To Comfort A Neglected Omega

Obviously, Kojiro can easily get physical affection from random people and is happy to collect it, but maybe he hasn’t really allowed himself to give into his omega nature for whatever reason and so that part of him is pretty neglected. Kaoru knows how to deal with that, however.

Or maybe Kojiro was in a bad/neglectful relationship and now that he has disentangled himself from that, Kaoru and him are starting to explore romantic feelings. Kaoru is also really good at figuring out the things a neglected Kojiro needs – no wonder, since they’ve known each other for so long.

Granblue Fantasy: Benjamin | Aoidos and Justin top Valentin

Let’s get the whole band together! I really liked the vibe between these three from what little we got to see. Whether it’s Vicious Three in its short heyday or Justin and Valentin adjusting around the new Aoidos (and Aoidos dealing with recovering his memories and incorporating them into his personality), all would be good. I’d be happy for something that goes deeper into their personalities and relationships, or a plotty fic of them getting roped into Skyfarer or merc work, but for this exchange I would of course especially enjoy a focus on BDSM-related tropes and how that plays on their relationships, whether smutty or not, or just straight up BDSM-flavoured PWP.

For smut, I prefer bottom Valentin and have no preference between the other two. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Valentin. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Valentin and alpha or beta Benjamin | Aoidos and Justin (however, alpha or beta Valentin being “forced” (willingly) into the omega role by the other two would also be fun).

This fic can of course also include Benjamin | Aoidos/Justin, Justin/Valentin, or Benjamin | Aoidos/Valentin as long as it eventually turns into a closed triad; I just don't want anybody actively, purposefully cheating on somebody else, but muddled circumstances and we’re-pretending-we're-just-FWB-but-actually-pining is fine (as is two of them actively looking for a third, or just happening to find one, of course). Valentin does seem to be indestructible for some reason, so feel free to take a loose interpretation on the DNW “no debilitating mutilations for sexual pleasure”. If all his body parts stay attached and he’s not permanently disabled in some way, I’m totally fine with it (even if they do stuff that really should permanently disable a human being, as long as Valentin bounces back from it...).

So there’s technically three possible Doms this could apply to and at least two of them (jury’s out on Aoidos) lean towards the sadistic side. Benjamin was probably never worried about that because he’s always been pretty... idiosyncratic, but what about Justin? Was there ever a time when he hadn’t fully given in to his desires yet? Did meeting Benjamin and Valentin help him unlock that part of himself?

As for Aoidos, maybe he’s worried that his desire to Dom is him backsliding towards Benjamin. If Justin and Valentin could help him consolidate his desires in his new personality, that would be great. Is Aoidos still a sadist Dom (or at least as much of a sadist), or does he bring a new dynamic to the trio when he finally allows himself to follow his passions?

So as he gets drawn into the band, he also starts to let go of the shame.

Final Fantasy XV: Ignis Scientia tops Gladiolus Amicitia

These two are just a great friendship-to-relationship pairing that I’ll always like – brought together by a similar duty from childhood, they seem to have not only learned to get along, but actually developed a lot of affection for each other. From fic set before the game (though I’d prefer something after they are both of age here), during the game, in the ten year time gap, after the end of the game, in a “the war never happens” AU, or in an alternate future, all would be great (sidenote: I’m fond of Noctis not dying, whether it’s because of the Ignis DLC or because of handwave-y reasons in the original timeline – you can also exclude the timeskip here if it works better –, but it’s not necessary). If Ignis is blind in the fic, it would be interesting to see how this comes into play during BDSM, how they maybe change their approach to adjust for it (or build it from the ground up if they weren’t together/doing BDSM before). Aftercare is also a trope I really enjoy. What do they do? Just stay around and cuddle for a bit? Clean up together? Maybe eat something? Perhaps it’s something a little unexpected, like Ignis enjoys cooking for Gladio while Gladio sticks around in the kitchen.

Just as much as the sub needing aftercare, I also like stories where the sub tends to be fine after a scene, but the Dom is the one who gets really nervous and unwell if he cannot make sure his sub is fine. This is especially interesting if the Dom didn’t even realise this at first (they were doing aftercare because they’re a good Dom!), but when it doesn’t happen for some reason, they notice it’s actually important for them, too.

Generally, fics where for some reason (important business at the palace, etc.), they have to stop the scene without aftercare are interesting. The characters didn’t think it would affect them too badly, but one or both of them end up really unhappy with it. Delayed aftercare would be great!

I really like this tag because it implies a few interesting plot points. Why is the Omega King new to his job? Did his royal parent or older sibling die, or is he actually someone who was pretty low in the chain of inheritance and never expected to get the throne at all, but something wiped out everyone ahead of him? I especially like omegas who are a bit unusual (tall and/or physically strong), but there’s many ways to go with this. For the alphas, I’d be interested in whatever you come up with! If it’s not all of the Alphas, or just one of them who is ashamed, perhaps the Omega King and the other Alphas can make him warm up to the idea of giving in to his desires. How did they find out, anyway? Was it something the ashamed Alpha did or said?

Maybe the ashamed Alpha is even the one who brings the topic of BDSM to the table for the first time and suddenly everyone is intrigued? That might help him not feel so unusual in his desires.

Perhaps the Alpha Dom who feels ashamed does so because he’s more sadistic than the other Alpha Doms. How does this come out? Can the Omega King and/or the other Alphas convince him it’s fine? Perhaps while the other Alphas might not want to do it themselves, they sure enjoy watching the sadist Dom use their Omega King...

Perhaps all of the potential Alphas are a bit ashamed of their desire because the Omega King is a revered figure in the kingdom (for example a friendly high priest or celebrated warrior, thought to have the support of the gods) and Domming him seems somewhat profane. However, when the Omega King finally finds out what’s up with his husbands, he’s happy to indulge their desires.

Sub Ashamed of Their Desires

Perhaps the Omega King is used to having to defend his position fairly firmly, since people already might not want to take an omega king seriously, so the fact that he wants to submit in the bedroom is a great source of embarrassment to him. Maybe it’s also just that he has never been into any harder kink before and he’s not even sure where to begin to bring up something like that to his Alphas and whether it’s abnormal (especially if he went into the marriage a virgin, as he might have, particularly if this is a medieval-ish feudal setting). That, or he’s very masochistic and worried that his desires would be too extreme even for someone who is into Domming. Can his Alphas coax him to speak about his desires? It would be good if they reassured him he’s no less a king to them, if that is his worry... and also happily indulged him, of course.

Sub being made to admit sexual fantasies out loud (consensually but without prior negotiation)

Perhaps the Omega King is also ashamed about some specific fantasies or kinks he has and try as they might, his Alphas haven’t been able to make him talk about them yet. However, there is a setting in which they get to order the Omega King what to do, isn’t there? Perhaps this plays into some humiliation kink as well, or the Omega King is a bit more in the mood when he subs and finally dares to speak.

The Alphas reacting to the fantasies, either by immediately doing something simple the Omega King says he wants or by talking to the Omega King and each other and just developing the fantasies further in a back and forth conversation, would also be very hot. (Also, I’m of course here for the Alphas putting one of the more elaborate fantasies into practice later, too.)

Experienced Dom Character A Mentors Character B First-Time Domming Character C

Perhaps a new Alpha is accepted into the harem, or they all started out at the same time, but one Alpha so far hadn’t been included in BDSM stuff yet and now expressed interest after watching a few times or hearing other harem Alphas talk about it. I would love it if the new Doms is quite enthusiastic to learn (from one or several other Alpha Doms), and the Omega King makes a just as willing test subject.

Experienced Dom Character A Guides Character B Through First-Time Submission

Or Dom characters, as it were. Perhaps the Omega King had never seriously considered subbing before, but when the Alphas suggest it or the Omega King realises one/some/all of them are Doms, he is intrigued. Perhaps the Omega King has wanted to sub before, but because he feels that as a King, he shouldn’t submit more than an omega already does by nature (especially if people scrutinise his nature in the position), he doesn’t bring it up until he really trusts the Alphas. That, or maybe he’s always wanted to try, but he happens to be a fairly tall and strong omega and people who wanted to sleep with him did so specifically because they didn’t want a subby omega, so no luck for him.

How does the first time go? Is the Omega King nervous or very enthusiastic from the start? Do the Doms start him off easy, or is there a push and pull between them and the Omega King?

Do the Alphas get off on the idea that they are going to train the Omega King to be their sub specifically, with no other Doms’ input? They might not actually mind if there had been others before them, of course, but in the moment it still makes them feel powerful.

A combination of this prompt and the prompt above would also be fun. Maybe the Omega King is new to subbing, but one or more of the Alphas haven’t Dommed yet, either. The Dom (or Doms) who has experience introduces all of them.

Scenario - Domming A Touch-Starved Sub

Perhaps the Omega King hasn’t had the opportunity for any personal contact in a long while (he may be a private person, or someone who is quite intimidating, or before he became king, maybe he was a priest). Then he suddenly has an entire harem of Alphas. I bet they could help with this problem of being touch-starved.

Maybe the Omega King was also gone from court for a while on a diplomatic mission or for war, and when he returns he’s very eager to get to touch his Alphas again.

Scenario - Sub Has A Panic Attack After Accidentally Disobeying

Perhaps the Omega King is the conscientious kind and has been trying to do everything as is expected of him – fulfilling his new role as king in every administrative and social sense, and privately growing into his position as sub for his Alphas, and keeping all the rules and regulations straight. However, that isn’t always so easy and it all collapses on him in that moment. His Alphas trying to disentangle why he’s even upset and calming him down would be nice.

That, or the Omega King doesn’t think his bonds to his Alphas can be very strong, since they have to share him, so the fact that he disobeyed drives him to fear that their relationship is going to turn sour now. However, his Alphas have actually been happy with how things are going.

Normally obedient sub is disobedient

Perhaps the Omega King is usually well-behaved – either he just has a very agreeable personality, or he was on his best behaviour because he wanted his harem Alphas to like him. Then he comes to a scene angry or stressed out and that ends up making him disobedient towards his Alphas, perhaps eager to be broken down for once.

Do the Alphas stop the scene to talk through what is happening first (they don’t mind a bratty sub every once in a while, it’s just odd for the Omega King)? Or do they go with the flow and then later talk to the Omega King about what was going on, when he’s more relaxed?

I could also see this as something playful? Maybe after some time, if the Omega King was always very focused on rules before, he gets comfortable letting a more carefree side shine through on rare occasions and the Alphas really enjoy it (also because it means they get to punish him from time to time).

Dom breeds sub

Since this is A/B/O and the Omega King probably needs heirs, this is likely something that is expected to happen at some point, anyway, so why shouldn’t they have fun with it? Breeding kink definitely encouraged here.

Accidentally Ignored Safeword

The Alphas simply didn’t hear the safeword, or misunderstood it as something else, or there was some other miscommunication. However, when the Alphas don’t react, maybe the Omega King panics a bit, and instead of repeating himself he tries to free himself, or end the scene another way (depending on what they are doing)? Either way, I’m sure it’s something that’s shocking to all of them – the Omega King still dealing with whatever made him safeword to begin with, and the Alphas feeling very guilty that between the lot of them they failed to hear the safeword and now also trying to help the Omega King. Mutual comfort and reassurance here would be nice! Maybe they can come down together by doing something comforting (whatever that means for them)?

Aftercare

Aftercare is also a trope I really enjoy. What do they do? Just stay around and cuddle for a bit? Clean up together? Maybe eat something? Perhaps it’s something a little unexpected relating to hobbies or preferences they share? There’s also at least three, probably more people involved in this, so they might need different things for aftercare and could help each other.

Just as much as the sub needing aftercare, I also like stories where the sub tends to be fine after a scene, but the Dom is the one who gets really nervous and unwell if he cannot make sure his sub is fine (or even several of the Doms in this case). This is especially interesting if the Dom(s) didn’t even realise this at first (they were doing aftercare because they’re a good Dom(s)!), but when it doesn’t happen for some reason, they notice it’s actually important for them, too.

Generally, fics where for some reason (important royal business, etc.), they have to stop the scene without aftercare are interesting. The characters didn’t think it would affect them too badly, but one or several of them end up really unhappy with it. Delayed aftercare would be great!

A/B/O: Alpha in rut needs complete submission from omega

Is this something that just happens for alphas in general? Or is it something that’s inherent to one or several of the Alphas’ personalities more than their nature and surprises the Omega King (and potentially some of the other Alphas) at first? Either way, the Omega King will happily indulge his Alpha(s). If the other Alphas aren’t so affected, do they help the Alpha(s) in rut to dominate the Omega King?

A/B/O: Omega in heat needs complete dominance from alpha

On the flipside, maybe it’s the Omega King who really needs his Alphas to dominate him during the heat. Is this something that’s common to all omegas, or something that’s more a personal factor for the Omega King? If it’s the latter, does he readily ask for it or do the Alphas need to coax it out of him because the Omega King is a bit ashamed? However it goes, I would love it if the Alphas fulfilled his wish.

A/B/O - Alpha Domming To Comfort A Neglected Omega

As the king (and maybe in whatever role he was before), the Omega King is obviously very busy, especially if he is a conscientious type. He hasn’t really indulged his omega nature or his desire to sub much at all as a result. The Alphas help him out with that.

Or maybe the Omega King was in a bad/neglectful relationship (or perhaps even marriage – especially if he wasn’t always the first in line to become King, his marriage might not have been so carefully chosen). That’s over now for some reason (death of spouse, divorce if it’s a possibility, maybe the spouse also up and left). His Alphas start to figure out how to make him feel better.

魔道祖师 | Módào Zǔshī: Jin Guangyao tops Lan Xichen

The story of these two really hurt me deeply in the best way. It is such a sweet friendship, with Jin Guangyao honestly caring for Lan Xichen despite seeing most everyone else as pawns, and Lan Xichen being so convinced that the world is wrong about Jin Guangyao and unfair to him – and you know, in many ways they really are, but in the end, there were also too many crimes Jin Guangyao actually committed. For Qin Su, I would like it if her and Jin Guangyao had never met/gotten married, or if she had died at some point, or ran off with a guy/woman she fell in love with to have a happy life somewhere away from cultivation drama. For smut, I prefer bottom and sub Lan Xichen. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Lan Xichen. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Lan Xichen and alpha or beta Jin Guangyao. When it comes to BDSM, they’re of course in a time where you could hardly google good etiquette like you could today, so maybe they don’t even really have names for the things they’re doing, and don’t know what a safeword is, or anything like that. As long as it’s still consensual, I don’t mind at all. I’m also totally happy for Modern AUs here, too, though, if you want to explore a modern idea of BDSM for them.

If you’re going for a full redemption arc plus happy ending, I’d rather if the fic diverged from canon before Jin Guangyao kills Nie Mingjue (which I don’t think Lan Xichen could get over) and before Jin Guangyao kills his father. It could also be an AU where neither murder happens for Reasons, even if those Reasons are just Jin Guangyao being foiled/people dying on their own and he totally might have killed them if he’d gotten the chance (or he finds a way to kill his father that doesn’t involve also killing prostitutes, I’m really not actually bothered by him killing his father, just the other people that died as a result of Jin Guangyao’s canonical plan). Of course, if you’re not going for redemption, there’s also the possibility of the fic just being somewhat bittersweet, in that it happens after the murder of Nie Mingjue, but before Lan Xichen finds out about it.

This is just very hot. Whether the Dom tells the sub to strip or this is something that arises from the situation (perhaps the sub just finished bathing or something), I would love to see it.

Collars

I love anything to do with collars. Whether it’s a spur-of-the-moment idea that they end up finding really hot or whether there’s some element to gifting the sub a collar that speaks to the stage of their relationship, either would be great. Of course, I also enjoy them playing with the collar, like tugging at it, tightening it a bit too much, directing the sub around by the collar, and so on.

Bondage - Honor Bondage

Whether they do this because the Dom loves to test the sub’s obedience, or the sub enjoys proving how good they can be, or for another reason, I would love to read about it.

I also like the scenario that they stumble upon this kink because they just didn’t happen to have anything to do physical bondage with at the time, but then they realise they’re really into honor bondage, too.

Rope Bondage

I’m also very much into fic with classic rope bondage (feel free to interpret rope loosely here, as long as it fulfils the basic function of rope). Whether it’s really elaborate bondage or something simple like the sub getting their hands tied to the bedposts, all would be great.

Lan Xichen is quite a strong dude (especially that Lan arm strength, lol), so it’s probably unusual for him not to be able to muscle out of a situation if he really wants to. Does this make him nervous at first (and maybe was a reason he never tried it with anyone but Jin Guangyao)? Or is it exactly what makes him so interested in bondage in the first place?

Improvised rope bondage is also always fun! Are they spontaneously doing bondage in an unusual place, or did they just decide in a passionate moment that bondage was something they wanted to try? What do they end up using? Maybe they even end up liking what they did for its own sake (so, for example, they always use leather bands, but in this instance they only had old rope for actual farm work or a scarf or something, but somehow that ended up being hot, too, because it played into the scene or the texture made it all feel different). The Lan forehead ribbon also has a lot of potential in that kind of situation, of course...

Kneeling

This is a favourite trope of mine for BDSM. Whether it’s for the purpose of giving a blowjob (or for any other sex act, of course), to show submission during a sex scene, or just something the sub is ordered to do while the Dom sits on the couch with a book in hand (potentially with his feet up on the sub’s shoulders), all is great.

The Dom tilting up the sub’s chin with his fingers, a sword, a riding crop, or whatever else is at hand is also great.

I could see Jin Guangyao being especially into this – a sect leader of the gentry kneeling for him gives him a great rush of power. Lan Xichen is happy to oblige.

Dom Ashamed of Their Desires

Maybe the entire idea of Domming is a bit daunting to Jin Guangyao – sure, he’s had sex before, and maybe a fuzzy pink pair of handcuffs was involved at some point, but this is real kink territory. Or, in a canon timeline setting, he’s always been a bit dominant in bed, but he’s starting to realise that he’s far beyond most people. Can Lan Xichen convince him it’s fine? Maybe the fact that Lan Xichen thinks it’s sweet Jin Guangyao is worried about it, or just totally underreacts because he doesn’t think it’s weird at all makes Jin Guangyao feel better, too. That, or Lan Xichen is a bit surprised, but also very accepting and interested.

Or Jin Guangyao leans more towards the sadist side and his own desires tend to worry him (especially considering that if this is the canon timeline, he was an actual torture master at one point, which might make sadism appearing in his sex life feel very odd). Can Lan Xichen help him sort through his thoughts? Maybe he noticed that Jin Guangyao seems to be holding back (during sex in general, or when he Doms, if they already do that)? Jin Guangyao is uncomfortable with being found out, but Lan Xichen’s support is nice. I would love if they could try out some of the things Jin Guangyao is into.

I’m definitely fine with stuff that veers into abusive or even noncon here, so maybe Lan Xichen had his safeword ignored, or was even in a relationship where that happened several times, or continually found a partner pushing at his boundaries (and we know Lan Xichen is pretty forgiving, so they might have pushed very far), or anything like that. Afterwards, Lan Xichen figured subbing was just not for him. However, Jin Guangyao seems to want to Dom and Lan Xichen does trust him, right? But if this is to happen, he will have to tell Jin Guangyao. I’m sure Jin Guangyao will take it serious and make sure Lan Xichen is comfortable. (Alternatively, Jin Guangyao already knows and is hesitant to ask about BDSM stuff because of it. How do they bring up the idea again?)

Maybe the bad experience also was that Lan Xichen admitted his desire to sub to a lover/partner and was told that it wasn’t sexy from someone who is supposed to be this strong, steady leader. This perhaps played into some misconceptions Lan Xichen already had and now he’s very hesitant to ever speak about it again. How does Jin Guangyao find out? He is pretty clever, so he may just read it from Lan Xichen’s reactions in the bedroom. Perhaps Lan Xichen does eventually mention it, too, or lets something slip by accident? Maybe Jin Guangyao finds some dirty book Lan Xichen was looking at that points him in the right direction? How does Jin Guangyao bring it up?

Scenario - Domming A Touch-Starved Sub

The Lan aren’t exactly touchy-feely, so Lan Xichen probably doesn’t get a lot of casual physical affection and doesn’t know how to easily initiate it with friends or maybe even lovers, either. Fortunately, Jin Guangyao is there to help and perhaps he realises while they have sex just how badly Lan Xichen wants to be touched. Does he spoil him or does he make him work to get the physical affection he wants during the scene?

Scenario - Sub Has A Panic Attack After Accidentally Disobeying

So the Lan have an interesting relationship to the concept of rules and we all know about the punishments you can incur when you break them (even in a Moden AU, I assume their upbringing was very strict). Maybe Lan Xichen is also stressed or unhappy with something, and so all of that means him accidentally disobeying his Dom becomes a huge problem in his head, especially if Jin Guangyao seemed earnestly displeased for a bit. Jin Guangyao helping him calm down would be great.

Perhaps the things he fails at is a physical task and reveals that Lan Xichen has been sick and/or exhausted and/or otherwise weakened and hasn’t really told Jin Guangyao about it because he didn’t want to worry him (or hadn’t even admitted the extent to himself), which only adds to the anxiety.

Whether this is a Modern AU or the original timeline, Lan Xichen likely has a position that also needs him to keep everything under control, where a lot depends on him, which could additionally weigh on his mind. Perhaps it’s also that Lan Qiren and Lan Wangji are fighting about Wei Wuxian? Maybe he’s worried about something in the relationship with Jin Guangyao (perhaps even that he hasn’t been a good enough sub). I would love it if Jin Guangyao could make him talk about these things and untangle whatever knot of emotions led to the panic attack.

I really enjoyed the relationship between those two. Nie Mingjue does not seem to have many, or any other close friends, aside from Meng Yao, though that doesn’t last too long. What was it that made Lan Xichen different, made him fascinating to someone who, according to Jin Guangyao, is interested in nothing but decimating the Wen sect and his sabre? For smut, I prefer bottom and sub Lan Xichen. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Lan Xichen. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Lan Xichen and alpha or beta Nie Mingjue. When it comes to BDSM, they’re of course in a time where you could hardly google good etiquette like you could today, so maybe they don’t even really have names for the things they’re doing, and don’t know what a safeword is, or anything like that. As long as it’s still consensual, I don’t mind at all. I’m also totally happy for Modern AUs here, too, though, if you want to explore a modern idea of BDSM for them.

Maybe the entire idea of Domming is a bit daunting to Nie Mingjue – sure, he’s had sex before, and maybe a fuzzy pink pair of handcuffs was involved at some point, but this is real kink territory. Or, in a canon timeline setting, he’s always been a bit dominant in bed, but he’s starting to realise that he’s far beyond most people. Can Lan Xichen convince him it’s fine? Maybe the fact that Lan Xichen thinks it’s sweet Nie Mingjue is worried about it, or just totally underreacts because he doesn’t think it’s weird at all makes Nie Mingjue feel better, too. That, or Lan Xichen is a bit surprised, but also very accepting and interested.

Or Nie Mingjue leans more towards the sadist side and his own desires tend to worry him. He doesn’t actually want to hurt people who have done nothing to him, so why is it something he wants to do to his lovers? Can Lan Xichen help him sort through his thoughts? Maybe he noticed that Nie Mingjue seems to be holding back (during sex in general, or when he Doms, if they already do that)? Nie Mingjue feels that Lan Xichen’s support is very helpful. I would love if they could try out some of the things Nie Mingjue is into.

Sub Ashamed of Their Desires

Afterwards, Lan Xichen figured subbing was just not for him. However, Nie Mingjue seems to want to Dom and Lan Xichen trusts his old friend deeply. But if this is to happen, he will have to tell him about his past. I’m sure Jin Nie Mingjue will take it serious and make sure Lan Xichen is comfortable. (Alternatively, Nie Mingjue already knows and is hesitant to ask about BDSM stuff because of it. How do they bring up the idea again?)

Maybe the bad experience also was that Lan Xichen admitted his desire to sub to a lover/partner and was told that it wasn’t sexy from someone who is supposed to be this strong, steady leader. This perhaps played into some misconceptions Lan Xichen already had and now he’s very hesitant to ever speak about it again – especially to Nie Mingjue, who is so strong and proud himself. How does Nie Mingjue find out? He may read it from Lan Xichen’s reactions in the bedroom. Perhaps Lan Xichen does eventually mention it, too, or lets something slip by accident? Maybe Nie Mingjue finds Lan Xichen looking at one of Nie Huaisang’s dirty books for a little too long and that points him in the right direction? How does Nie Mingjue bring it up?

Scenario - Sub Has A Panic Attack After Accidentally Disobeying

So the Lan have an interesting relationship to the concept of rules and we all know about the punishments you can incur when you break them (even in a Moden AU, I assume their upbringing was very strict). Maybe Lan Xichen is also stressed or unhappy with something, and so all of means that him accidentally disobeying his Dom becomes a huge problem in his head, especially if Nie Mingjue seemed earnestly displeased for a bit. Nie Mingjue helping him calm down would be great.

Perhaps the things he fails at is a physical task and reveals that Lan Xichen has been sick and/or exhausted and/or otherwise weakened and hasn’t really told Nie Mingjue about it because he didn’t want to worry him (or hadn’t even admitted the extent to himself), which only adds to the anxiety.

Whether this is a Modern AU or the original timeline, Lan Xichen likely has a position that also needs him to keep everything under control, where a lot depends on him, which could additionally weigh on his mind. Perhaps it’s also that Lan Qiren and Lan Wangji are fighting about Wei Wuxian? Maybe he’s worried about something in the relationship with Nie Mingjue (perhaps even that he hasn’t been a good enough sub). I would love it if Nie Mingjue could make him talk about these things and untangle whatever knot of emotions led to the panic attack.

Normally obedient sub is disobedient

Maybe someone really annoyed Lan Xichen, maybe he’s just had an extremely bad week, but for some reason he just feels like he needs Nie Mingjue to break him down (whether this is a conscious thought or more an unconscious wish). Does Nie Mingjue stop the scene and make him talk about it first, because it’s so unusual, or does he go with the flow and ask later, when Lan Xichen is more relaxed?

I could also see this as something playful? Maybe after some time, Lan Xichen gets comfortable letting a more carefree, less rules-focused side shine through on rare occasions and Nie Mingjue really enjoys it (maybe also because it means he gets to punish him from time to time).

Experienced Dom Character A Guides Character B Through First-Time Submission

Perhaps Lan Xichen had never seriously considered subbing before, but when Nie Mingjue suggests it or Lan Xichen realises Nie Mingjue is a Dom (or tends to be very dominant in bed, if this is the canon timeline and there’s no words for it), he is intrigued. Perhaps Lan Xichen has wanted to, but was too ashamed because of his strict upbringing, and so he only confesses to Nie Mingjue because he trusts him so much. That, or maybe Lan Xichen has always wanted to try, but when people want to sleep with him, very few of them think a tall, strong guy like him will sub (and they might not be interested in that), so Lan Xichen just never really had the chance.

How does the first time go? Is Lan Xichen nervous or very enthusiastic from the start? Does Nie Mingjue start him off easy or do they end up wading into deeper waters right away?

Does Nie Mingjue get off on the idea that he’s going to train Lan Xichen to be his sub specifically, with no other Dom’s input? He wouldn’t actually mind if there had been others before him, of course, but in the moment it still makes him feel powerful.

Scenario - Domming A Touch-Starved Sub

The Lan aren’t exactly touchy-feely, so Lan Xichen probably doesn’t get a lot of casual physical affection and doesn’t know how to easily initiate it with friends or maybe even lovers, either. Fortunately, Nie Mingjue is there to help and perhaps he realises while they have sex just how badly Lan Xichen wants to be touched (perhaps he already had an idea, too, since he has known Lan Xichen for a long while). Does he spoil him or does he make him work to get the physical affection he wants during the scene?

Dom breeds sub

This could be fictional breeding kink, where they are just playing out a scene, or an A/B/O AU, or another AU where Lan Xichen can get mpregnant for whatever other reason, where maybe they’re having a bit of kinky fun with the actual family planning. (If it is just a fantasy, I’d prefer if they could adopt heirs or this is a Modern AU or something – basically, I wouldn’t want it to have a sad undertone of ‘we can’t be together because sect leaders eventually need to marry to have heirs’; that is, unless a magic/unlikely mpregnancy does result from it, after all, then I’d be fine with it!)

Accidentally Ignored Safeword

Nie Mingjue simply didn’t hear the safeword, or misunderstood it as something else, or there was some other miscommunication. However, when Nie Mingjue doesn’t react, maybe Lan Xichen panics a bit, and instead of repeating himself he tries to free himself, or end the scene another way (depending on what they are doing)? Either way, I’m sure it’s something that’s shocking to both of them – Lan Xichen still dealing with whatever made him safeword to begin with, and Nie Mingjue feeling very guilty that he failed to hear the safeword and trying to help Lan Xichen. Mutual comfort and reassurance here would be nice! Maybe they can come down together by doing something comforting (whatever that means for them)?

Aftercare

Aftercare is also a trope I really enjoy. What do they do? Just stay around and cuddle for a bit? Clean up together? Maybe eat something? Perhaps it’s something a little unexpected, like Lan Xichen plays some simple songs or Cleansing on his flute while Nie Mingjue listens.

Just as much as the sub needing aftercare, I also like stories where the sub tends to be fine after a scene, but the Dom is the one who gets really nervous and unwell if he cannot make sure his sub is fine. This is especially interesting if the Dom didn’t even realise this at first (they were doing aftercare because they’re a good Dom!), but when it doesn’t happen for some reason, they notice it’s actually important for them, too.

Generally, fics where for some reason (important sect business, etc.), they have to stop the scene without aftercare are interesting. The characters didn’t think it would affect them too badly, but one or both of them end up really unhappy with it. (In a time where BDSM rules aren’t a thing yet, they may realise that the cuddling they have always instinctively done after playing rough somehow seems to be an integral part of the process.) Delayed aftercare would be great!

BDSM AU - Dom thinks they're pining for another Dom-it turns out their crush is a Sub

If your nature is something that is revealed only during the late teenage/early adulthood years, then maybe everybody expected Lan Xichen, who is a bit of a late-bloomer, to end up as a Dom, and Nie Mingjue figures that there’s pretty much no chance for them to be compatible. However, it turns out that expectation was false.

Or maybe Lan Xichen hides the fact because he is worried the Wen would try to dominate him or attempt to force him out of his position for being a sub; it could also be to protect Dom Lan Wangji, who does not want to be a sect leader, but would be first in line if Lan Xichen’s sub nature were revealed. When does he tell Nie Mingjue? They’re good friends, so perhaps he eventually confides in him? Or is it revealed against his will, either to Nie Mingjue or to everybody?

A/B/O: Alpha in rut needs complete submission from omega

Is this something that just happens for alphas in general? Or is it something that’s inherent to Nie Mingjue’s personality more than his nature and surprises Lan Xichen at first? Either way, Lan Xichen will happily indulge him.

A/B/O: Omega in heat needs complete dominance from alpha

On the flipside, maybe it’s Lan Xichen who really needs his alpha to dominate him during the heat. Is this something that’s common to all omegas, or something that’s more a personal factor for Lan Xichen? If it’s the latter, does he readily ask for it or does Nie Mingjue need to coax it out of him because Lan Xichen is a bit ashamed? However it goes, I would love it if Nie Mingjue fulfilled his wish.

A/B/O - Alpha Domming To Comfort A Neglected Omega

Lan Xichen has not really allowed himself to give into his omega nature for whatever reason (he is hiding, he is afraid it will make him look weak, in the canon timeline there was a full war going on at some point and no time) and so that part of him is pretty neglected. Nie Mingjue knows how to deal with that, however.

Or maybe Lan Xichen was in a bad/neglectful relationship and now that he has disentangled himself from that, Nie Mingjue and him are starting to explore romantic feelings. Nie Mingjue is also really good at figuring out the things Lan Xichen needs – no wonder, since they’ve known each other for such a long time.

I know it was unlikely, but I kind of wanted things to work out for them. After all, they all independently of each other struck up friendships in the first place, so there’s enough there that each of them sees in the others to make a real triad relationship. However, if you would like to instead look at that moment in canon just after they become sworn brothers, or lengthen the time before Meng Yao leaves Nie Mingjue so that they have time to be together there (as long as Meng Yao is eighteen), that would also be great. For Qin Su, I would like it if her and Jin Guangyao had never met/gotten married, or if she had died a natural death at some point, or ran off with a guy/woman she fell in love with to have a happy life somewhere away from cultivation drama.

Nie Mingjue and Jin Guangyao helping him calm down would be great.

Perhaps the things he fails at is a physical task and reveals that Lan Xichen has been sick and/or exhausted and/or otherwise weakened and hasn’t really told Nie Mingjue and Jin Guangyao about it because he didn’t want to worry them (or hadn’t even admitted the extent to himself), which only adds to the anxiety.

Whether this is a Modern AU or the original timeline, Lan Xichen likely has a position that also needs him to keep everything under control, where a lot depends on him, which could additionally weigh on his mind. Perhaps it’s also that Lan Qiren and Lan Wangji are fighting about Wei Wuxian? Maybe he’s worried about something in the relationship with Nie Mingjue amd Jin Guangyao (perhaps even that he hasn’t been a good enough sub). I would love it if Nie Mingjue and Jin Guangyao could make him talk about these things and untangle whatever knot of emotions led to the panic attack.

Normally obedient sub is disobedient

Maybe someone really annoyed Lan Xichen, maybe he’s just had an extremely bad week, but for some reason he just feels like he needs Jin Guangyao and Nie Mingjue to break him down (whether this is a conscious thought or more an unconscious wish). Do the two Doms stop the scene and make him talk about it first, because it’s so unusual, or do they go with the flow and ask later, when Lan Xichen is more relaxed?

I could also see this as something playful? Maybe after some time, Lan Xichen gets comfortable letting a more carefree, less rules-focused side shine through on rare occasions and Jin Guangyao and Nie Mingjue really enjoy it (maybe also because it means he gets to punish him from time to time).

Dom breeds sub

This could be fictional breeding kink, where they are just playing out a scene, or an A/B/O AU, or another AU where Lan Xichen can get mpregnant for whatever other reason, where maybe they’re having a bit of kinky fun with the actual family planning. (If it is just a fantasy, I’d prefer if they could adopt heirs or this is a Modern AU or something – basically, I wouldn’t want it to have a sad undertone of ‘we can’t be together because sect leaders eventually need to marry to have heirs’; that is, unless a magic/unlikely mpregnancy does result from it, after all, then I’d be fine with it!)

Accidentally Ignored Safeword

Nie Mingjue and Jin Guangyao simply didn’t hear the safeword, or misunderstood it as something else, or there was some other miscommunication. However, when the two don’t react, maybe Lan Xichen panics a bit, and instead of repeating himself he tries to free himself, or end the scene another way (depending on what they are doing)? Either way, I’m sure it’s something that’s shocking to all of them – Lan Xichen still dealing with whatever made him safeword to begin with, and Nie Mingjue and Jin Guangyao feeling very guilty that they failed to hear the safeword and trying to help Lan Xichen. Mutual comfort and reassurance here would be nice! Maybe they can come down together by doing something comforting (whatever that means for them)?

An interesting twist here for a point in the relationship where Nie Mingjue and Jin Guangyao are somewhat hostile could be that Nie Mingjue and Jin Guangyao didn’t hear Lan Xichen because they were fighting/bickering. Maybe this spurs them on to actually try to solve some of their problems instead of simmering in hostility? Because in the end, both of them didn’t want to hurt Lan Xichen, nor did they want to make the other hurt Lan Xichen or see them in pain over having done so, and realising that is probably a good basis.

Aftercare

Aftercare is also a trope I really enjoy. What do they do? Just stay around and cuddle for a bit? Clean up together? Maybe eat something? Perhaps it’s something a little unexpected, like Lan Xichen plays some simple songs on his flute while Jin Guangyao and Nie Mingjue listen.

Just as much as the sub needing aftercare, I also like stories where the sub tends to be fine after a scene, but the one of the Doms is the one who gets really nervous and unwell if he cannot make sure his sub and his co-Dom are fine. This is especially interesting if the Dom didn’t even realise this at first (they were doing aftercare because they’re a good Dom!), but when it doesn’t happen for some reason, they notice it’s actually important for them, too. (Both Doms reacting like this would also be interesting!)

Generally, fics where for some reason (important sect business, etc.), they have to stop the scene without aftercare are interesting. The characters didn’t think it would affect them too badly, but one or several of them end up really unhappy with it. (In a time where BDSM rules aren’t a thing yet, they may realise that the cuddling they have always instinctively done after playing rough somehow seems to be an integral part of the process.) Delayed aftercare would be great!

A/B/O: Alpha in rut needs complete submission from omega

Is this something that just happens for alphas in general? Or is it something that’s inherent to Jin Guangyao and/or Nie Mingjue’s personality more than his/their nature and surprises Lan Xichen (and potentially the other person) at first? Either way, Lan Xichen will happily indulge him/them (and if either Jin Guangyao or Nie Mingjue is an alpha who is more chill, or a beta who is unaffected, they might tease a bit, but maybe eventually help the alpha in rut dominate Lan Xichen, too).

A/B/O: Omega in heat needs complete dominance from alpha

On the flipside, maybe it’s Lan Xichen who really needs his alphas to dominate him during the heat. Is this something that’s common to all omegas, or something that’s more a personal factor for Lan Xichen? If it’s the latter, does he readily ask for it or do Jin Guangyao and Nie Mingjue need to coax it out of him because Lan Xichen is a bit ashamed? However it goes, I would love it if Jin Guangyao and Nie Mingjue fulfilled his wish.

A/B/O - Alpha Domming To Comfort A Neglected Omega

Lan Xichen has not really allowed himself to give into his omega nature for whatever reason (he is hiding, he is afraid it will make him look weak, in the canon timeline there was a full war going on at some point and no time) and so that part of him is pretty neglected. Jin Guangyao and Nie Mingjue know how to deal with that, however.

Or maybe Lan Xichen was in a bad/neglectful relationship and now that he has disentangled himself from that, Jin Guangyao, Nie Mingjue and him are starting to explore romantic feelings. Jin Guangyao and Nie Mingjue are also really good at figuring out the things Lan Xichen needs...

The story of these two really hurt me deeply in the best way. It is such a sweet friendship, with Jin Guangyao honestly caring for Lan Xichen despite seeing most everyone else as pawns, and Lan Xichen being so convinced that the world is wrong about Jin Guangyao and unfair to him – and you know, in many ways they really are, but in the end, there were also too many crimes Jin Guangyao actually committed. For Qin Su, I would like it if her and Jin Guangyao had never met/gotten married, or if she had died a natural death at some point, or ran off with a guy/woman she fell in love with to have a happy life somewhere away from cultivation drama. For smut, I prefer bottom and sub Lan Xichen. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Lan Xichen. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Lan Xichen and alpha or beta Jin Guangyao. When it comes to BDSM, they’re of course in a time where you could hardly google good etiquette like you could today, so maybe they don’t even really have names for the things they’re doing, and don’t know what a safeword is, or anything like that. As long as it’s still consensual, I don’t mind at all. I’m also totally happy for Modern AUs here, too, though, if you want to explore a modern idea of BDSM for them.

If you’re going for a full redemption arc plus happy ending, I’d rather if the fic diverged from canon before Jin Guangyao kills Nie Mingjue (which I don’t think Lan Xichen could get over) and before Jin Guangyao kills his father. It could also be an AU where neither murder happens for Reasons, even if those Reasons are just Jin Guangyao being foiled/people dying on their own and he totally might have killed them if he’d gotten the chance (or he finds a way to kill his father that doesn’t involve also killing prostitutes, I’m really not actually bothered by him killing his father, just the other people that died as a result of Jin Guangyao’s canonical plan). Of course, if you’re not going for redemption, there’s also the possibility of the fic just being somewhat bittersweet, in that it happens after the murder of Nie Mingjue, but before Lan Xichen finds out about it.

Lan Xichen is quite a strong dude (especially that Lan arm strength, lol), so it’s probably unusual for him not to be able to muscle out of a situation if he really wants to. Does this make him nervous at first (and maybe was a reason he never tried it with anyone but Jin Guangyao)? Or is it exactly what makes him so interested in bondage in the first place?

Improvised rope bondage is also always fun! Are they spontaneously doing bondage in an unusual place, or did they just decide in a passionate moment that bondage was something they wanted to try? What do they end up using? Or, in a canon timeline setting, he’s always been a bit dominant in bed, but he’s starting to realise that he’s far beyond most people. Can Lan Xichen convince him it’s fine? Maybe the fact that Lan Xichen thinks it’s sweet Jin Guangyao is worried about it, or just totally underreacts because he doesn’t think it’s weird at all makes Jin Guangyao feel better, too. That, or Lan Xichen is a bit surprised, but also very accepting and interested.

Or Jin Guangyao leans more towards the sadist side and his own desires tend to worry him (especially considering that if this is the canon timeline, he was an actual torture master at one point, which might make sadism appearing in his sex life feel very odd). Can Lan Xichen help him sort through his thoughts? Maybe he noticed that Jin Guangyao seems to be holding back (during sex in general, or when he Doms, if they already do that)? Jin Guangyao is uncomfortable with being found out, but Lan Xichen’s support is nice. I would love if they could try out some of the things Jin Guangyao is into.

Sub Ashamed of Their Desires

Perhaps Lan Xichen is somewhat conditioned to think that powerful people like him shouldn’t want to submit – doesn’t that make him a bad leader? –, or that it would be ridiculous somehow and no one would take that wish serious. Maybe it’s also just that he has never been into any harder kink before and he’s not even sure where to begin, especially since his upbringing was rather restrictive (which only adds to the shame). That, or he’s very masochistic and worried that his desires would be too extreme even for someone who is into Domming. I’m sure Jin Guangyao could tease his troubles out of him once he notices something is up with Lan Xichen. I would love it if Jin Guangyao was supportive and enthusiastic about trying out what Lan Xichen wants.

I really enjoyed the relationship between those two. Nie Mingjue does not seem to have many, or any other close friends, aside from Meng Yao, though that doesn’t last too long. What was it that made Lan Xichen different, made him fascinating to someone who, according to Jin Guangyao, is interested in nothing but decimating the Wen sect and his sabre? And how did someone as clement as Lan Xichen befriend the hot-tempered heir of the Unclean Realm? When Nie Mingjue isn’t currently trying to kill someone (usually Jin Guangyao), Lan Xichen doesn’t even seem too bothered by his temper at all, and he seems to genuinely enjoy his company as well. I would love to see anything, from childhood stories (perhaps with clandestine first kisses), to their time as young men, to fighting in the war, to a fix-it were all works out differently and Nie Mingjue doesn’t die. Maybe Lan Xichen is also stressed or unhappy with something, and so all of means that him accidentally disobeying his Dom becomes a huge problem in his head, especially if Nie Mingjue seemed earnestly displeased for a bit. Nie Mingjue helping him calm down would be great.

Perhaps the things he fails at is a physical task and reveals that Lan Xichen has been sick and/or exhausted and/or otherwise weakened and hasn’t really told Nie Mingjue about it because he didn’t want to worry him (or hadn’t even admitted the extent to himself), which only adds to the anxiety.

Whether this is a Modern AU or the original timeline, Lan Xichen likely has a position that also needs him to keep everything under control, where a lot depends on him, which could additionally weigh on his mind. Perhaps it’s also that Lan Qiren and Lan Wangji are fighting about Wei Wuxian? Maybe he’s worried about something in the relationship with Nie Mingjue (perhaps even that he hasn’t been a good enough sub). I would love it if Nie Mingjue could make him talk about these things and untangle whatever knot of emotions led to the panic attack.

Aftercare

Aftercare is also a trope I really enjoy. What do they do? Just stay around and cuddle for a bit? Clean up together? Maybe eat something? Perhaps it’s something a little unexpected, like Lan Xichen plays some simple songs or Cleansing on his flute while Nie Mingjue listens.

Just as much as the sub needing aftercare, I also like stories where the sub tends to be fine after a scene, but the Dom is the one who gets really nervous and unwell if he cannot make sure his sub is fine. This is especially interesting if the Dom didn’t even realise this at first (they were doing aftercare because they’re a good Dom!), but when it doesn’t happen for some reason, they notice it’s actually important for them, too.

Generally, fics where for some reason (important sect business, etc.), they have to stop the scene without aftercare are interesting. The characters didn’t think it would affect them too badly, but one or both of them end up really unhappy with it. (In a time where BDSM rules aren’t a thing yet, they may realise that the cuddling they have always instinctively done after playing rough somehow seems to be an integral part of the process.) Delayed aftercare would be great!

An interesting twist here for a point in the relationship where Nie Mingjue and Jin Guangyao are somewhat hostile could be that Nie Mingjue and Jin Guangyao didn’t hear Lan Xichen because they were fighting/bickering. Maybe this spurs them on to actually try to solve some of their problems instead of simmering in hostility? Because in the end, both of them didn’t want to hurt Lan Xichen, nor did they want to make the other hurt Lan Xichen or see them in pain over having done so, and realising that is probably a good basis.

Aftercare

Aftercare is also a trope I really enjoy. What do they do? Just stay around and cuddle for a bit? Clean up together? Maybe eat something? Perhaps it’s something a little unexpected, like Lan Xichen plays some simple songs on his flute while Jin Guangyao and Nie Mingjue listen.

Just as much as the sub needing aftercare, I also like stories where the sub tends to be fine after a scene, but the one of the Doms is the one who gets really nervous and unwell if he cannot make sure his sub and his co-Dom are fine. This is especially interesting if the Dom didn’t even realise this at first (they were doing aftercare because they’re a good Dom!), but when it doesn’t happen for some reason, they notice it’s actually important for them, too. (Both Doms reacting like this would also be interesting!)

Generally, fics where for some reason (important sect business, etc.), they have to stop the scene without aftercare are interesting. The characters didn’t think it would affect them too badly, but one or several of them end up really unhappy with it. (In a time where BDSM rules aren’t a thing yet, they may realise that the cuddling they have always instinctively done after playing rough somehow seems to be an integral part of the process.) Delayed aftercare would be great!

A/B/O: Alpha in rut needs complete submission from omega

Is this something that just happens for alphas in general? Or is it something that’s inherent to Jin Guangyao and/or Nie Mingjue’s personality more than his/their nature and surprises Lan Xichen (and potentially the other person) at first? Either way, Lan Xichen will happily indulge him/them (and if either Jin Guangyao or Nie Mingjue is an alpha who is more chill, or a beta who is unaffected, they might tease a bit, but maybe eventually help the alpha in rut dominate Lan Xichen, too).

A/B/O: Omega in heat needs complete dominance from alpha

On the flipside, maybe it’s Lan Xichen who really needs his alphas to dominate him during the heat. Is this something that’s common to all omegas, or something that’s more a personal factor for Lan Xichen? If it’s the latter, does he readily ask for it or do Jin Guangyao and Nie Mingjue need to coax it out of him because Lan Xichen is a bit ashamed? However it goes, I would love it if Jin Guangyao and Nie Mingjue fulfilled his wish.

A/B/O - Alpha Domming To Comfort A Neglected Omega

Lan Xichen has not really allowed himself to give into his omega nature for whatever reason (he is hiding, he is afraid it will make him look weak, in the canon timeline there was a full war going on at some point and no time) and so that part of him is pretty neglected. Jin Guangyao and Nie Mingjue know how to deal with that, however.

Or maybe Lan Xichen was in a bad/neglectful relationship and now that he has disentangled himself from that, Jin Guangyao, Nie Mingjue and him are starting to explore romantic feelings. Jin Guangyao and Nie Mingjue are also really good at figuring out the things Lan Xichen needs...
