I'm greygerbil on AO3, thank you for writing or drawing for me! Right from the start, I want to say you don’t have to do anything with my prompts, they’re just here in case you want some ideas. If it has my pairing and avoids my DNWs, I’m sure I’ll enjoy it! All ratings are great. I included a list of my general likes and smut likes which apply to all my requests. When it comes to kinks, you can include anything not listed under my DNWs.

Feel free to entirely erase the existence of canon relationships or break them up if they get in the way of the pairings I requested, whichever works best with what you’re trying to do.

Fic where the couple is not yet together but clearly in love, or on the road to getting together, or having their first time kissing/in bed together are great. However, so are established relationship fics. Whatever suits your ideas!

Some prompts may read like ideas for longer fics, but if you’re interested in them, please just grab a scene with the general idea out of the middle of those hypothetical longfics and write me that! I love fic of all length and don’t want anyone to feel like they have to go above the minimum word count. I just get excited writing prompts sometimes.

Dragon Age: Dorian Pavus/Ashur | The Viper

This is a pairing I’ve come to really appreciate listening to the ambient banter in the Store. Ashur calling Dorian a “brash rebel” and Dorian thanking him for it, Dorian apparently teasing Ashur so much Ashur won’t even believe him anymore when he does genuinely compliment him, the hints at their shared past (that also make Ashur sound very exhausted)... it’s all just so fun it made me wish we had gotten more of them. I see them with a little bit of an age gap, with Dorian maybe being about ten years older, but this isn’t necessary. I just would love to have more of these two characters bouncing off of each other. If you go with a blighted Viper, I’d like it if he got unblighted at the end of the game (which I think was vaguely implied for people affected with the new blight, which he is), should your fic touch on that part of canon. However, having angst about his potential/averted death is totally fine, I’d just like something that’s not totally bleak. If Dorian had past relationships in Inquisition, I would want these to be over. I prefer bottom and sub Ashur for smut. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Ashur. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Ashur and alpha or beta Dorian.

Courtship - Formal Courtship with the Intention of Marriage

Both Dorian and Ashur probably know all the rules of high Tevinter society courtship, they just haven’t had occasion to involve themselves in such things yet. I feel like they might actually have fun engaging with this stuff if they are not being pushed towards heterosexual marriages with breeding incentive.

Is one of them taking the lead or are they sort of courting each other?

Are there special rules on how to court members of the clergy? They can marry in Tevinter, but perhaps there are some extra things to consider, and Dorian is having a lot of fun playing along.

Courtship - Marriage Ball Held to Find a Spouse

Perhaps same-sex marriage is finally legalised in Tevinter or magic mpreg was invented (thus voiding the reason gay couples couldn’t enter the great magic breeding games), so Ashur’s family insists he has no reason not to look for a spouse now and throw a ball for him. Ashur agrees reluctantly and expects a dreadful evening until he spots Dorian, who will likely mercilessly tease him, but also help him get through the ball. But perhaps Dorian isn’t just there as moral support...

As above, if same-sex marriage is allowed, Dorian may even throw a ball for himself – seems like just the kind of thing he’d be into. What he didn’t expect was that Ashur turns up as a suitor.

Ashur may also decide that he may be ready to get married for politics (especially if he’s gay and same-sex marriage is now an option) and organises a ball for himself. When Dorian shows up, Ashur expects he’s just here to socialise, but it turns out there’s another reason.

For a prequel, Dorian ends up at a ball thrown for a younger Ashur by his family and recognises that he doesn’t seem very interested in choosing a wife. That doesn’t mean the two of them can’t have a good time away from prying eyes, though, so he tries his luck charming the young man.

I would love to see them dancing together, whether it’s in public (if possible in the setting) or somewhere private with the music from the main hall playing in the distance.

Marriage Contest - Tournament involving Combat

As above, perhaps marriage between two men was legalised or magic mpreg was invented (thus voiding the problem Tevinter society had with highborn gay marriage). Ashur’s family pushes him to take a look at potential husbands, or maybe, thinking Dorian isn’t interested, Ashur has even resigned himself to a political marriage. Only there is a surprise participant vying for his hand... And obviously, the same prompt would work the other way around, although in Dorian’s case he may have organised the tournament himself.

Or maybe the one who takes part in the tournament is not a surprise participant and rides with the other’s favour? That would also be cute!

Maybe the suitors have to best the one they want to marry! Dorian and Ashur are both impressive mages, so it could be quite the grand battle.

Proposal - "We Could Be Dead Tomorrow So Let's Get Married Today"

Everything after the dragon attack on Minrathous could work for this; they truly live in interesting times.

This would become especially real during their stint in occupied Minrathous. Maybe they decide to get married in the Blight and the rubble, thinking it’s unlikely both of them will survive?

Maybe Ashur is even blighted and he wants to confirm their connection before the Maker while he still can. Or maybe he even wants to give Dorian a way to access his inheritance when he dies (maybe gay marriage isn’t legal, but if the Divine himself performed it, that would have some weight, right?). This would definitely make for a sombre wedding, especially since they can’t even touch each other anymore (although I wouldn’t say no to a glimmer of hope being included at the end when Ashur doesn’t die).

Proposal - Blurting Out Proposal Unplanned

Mid-combat is a good option for them! Maybe during some intense Venatori/darkspawn fighting, one of them ends up proposing.

Of course, an especially romantic setting could trigger a surprise proposal as well. What might that look like?

They are both experienced politicians and men who choose their words carefully, so I think either of them would be surprised if they ended up accidentally letting a proposal escape them!

Proposal - A who always playfully rejects B's repeated marriage proposals finally says yes

Since Dorian loves to tease him, Ashur fully doesn’t take his proposals seriously. But Dorian won’t stop, so maybe he eventually says yes to test him (since he wouldn’t actually mind marrying); or it’s a moment of weakness and he admits to Dorian that of course he would say yes and it’s a bit cruel of Dorian to keep teasing – except Dorian wasn’t actually teasing.

Perhaps Ashur is the one who keeps proposing and Dorian keeps rejecting him, since he has hangups from former highborn Tevinter boyfriends who didn’t want to seriously commit and he can’t fully trust Ashur won’t be the same. But, being with him for longer, he realises that Ashur might actually mean it.

Engagement - Engaged in Secret

Maybe Dorian and Ashur have been engaged for a while, but for political reasons, they have kept it a secret so far. It doesn’t mean they aren’t serious about it, though.

How do their friends react if they find out?

Elopement - Celebrate Victory with Spontaneous Act of Marriage

Post-ending of the game would be great for this, of course. You don’t get many victories as big as throwing a god out of your city.

This would also be very sweet in a story with Blighted (and now unblighted) Viper, too. They get to not only celebrate getting rid of the evil gods, but also that Ashur isn’t going to die.

Who performs their wedding? Maybe they run away to some tiny Chantry that’s still standing in an outer district and a very confused Sister or Brother ends up marrying the Divine to Dorian (who may or may not be the de facto Archon at that point already). Maybe they do have another cleric there who can marry them right in the Divine’s Manor, with a lot of spontaneous guests around. Or they just decide to abscond together, taking a moment all to themselves, and Ashur marries them himself.

Marriage Laws - Changing the Law so They Can Be Married

I think Ashur might approach Dorian or Mae (whoever is Archon) about support for changing the laws for Tevinter marriage, anyway – as the Divine, it is within his purview, after all. However, the fact that he would get to marry Dorian is certainly a plus. And if Dorian is the Archon, he may have a vested interest changing these laws himself, too.

The Divine and the Archon as the first officially married gay couple in Tevinter would be quite the statement as well (aside from being something they both wanted to do).

Wedding - Priests Perform Their Own Marriage Ceremony

Maybe this is something that is standard for clerics in Tevinter and obviously the Divine would do his part. What does the ceremony look like when one of the participants is also performing it? What changes does it entail?

Or maybe this is a rule that applies specifically to the Divine? Tevinter society is very stratified, so maybe clerics generally get married by higher-ranking members of the clergy, which means the Divine has to perform his own marriage ceremony because no-one outranks him.

Or perhaps this is just a result of the fact that the two of them eloped, or are getting married inofficially or secretly. Still, can’t get a better blessing for your marriage than from the Divine, right?

Wedding Night - Consummation

I do always love me some smut, so I would love to see their wedding night!

It’s probably not their first time together, but is it still unique somehow? I feel like Ashur would expect this (one would assume the Divine to put some weight on a religious ceremony), but Dorian can be a bit cynical/sarcastic and may be surprised by how romantic/special it feels.

I could see both Dorian and Ashur be the kind of person who prepares a naughty surprise for their new husband. Maybe one of them has a trick up his sleeve for the wedding night?

A delayed consummation because they fall into bed dead tired and only wake up the next morning would also be very sweet.

Forbidden Marriage - Married In Every Way Except Legally

If gay marriage isn’t legal in Tevinter, that still doesn’t stop them from considering themselves married.

Maybe one of them jokes, calling the other his husband at some point, and they realise it’s pretty spot on.

Not married legally could still mean married spiritually, even if it is perhaps in secret. Who better to decide if a marriage is real in the eyes of the Maker than the Divine, after all?

Secret Marriage - We Weren't Going to Tell Anyone but they Found Out Anyway

To make sure their marriage doesn’t cause a scandal, Ashur and Dorian have decided to keep it a secret for the time being, but Mae has a sharp eye and Ashur is good friends with Tarquin, who’d also eventually notice something is up. Their friends reacting to their marriage would be fun.

Perhaps their secret is revealed on a grander scale and causes quite a scandal in high society. How do they weather this? Does the Divine and Dorian’s good reputation with the lower classes (being Lucerni supporters, I assume they’d be popular) and Dorian’s charm win over the commoners to their side?

Gay marriage got legalised, so now Ashur has a lot of new pushy suitors (maybe it was already rumoured he was more interested in men). Dorian eventually can’t watch it anymore and asserts himself as Ashur’s husband, even though they hadn’t planned to tell anyone. But Ashur probably doesn’t mind people knowing the truth. (This obviously also works in reverse.)

Dorian’s father is dead, but him meeting Ashur’s family could be quite interesting as well – especially since it’s probably not the first time he’s run into most of them.

Established Marriage - Decide to Adopt a Child Together

There must be a ton of orphans after everything that happened in Minrathous and perhaps they eventually end up with one of them in their arms through happenstance, or actively seek out a child to adopt.

Or maybe Ashur assuages his family’s complaints about his having married a man by taking in one of his sibling’s/cousin’s kids as a permanent ward to raise, since Dorian and him were looking to adopt, anyway. (Similarly, I’m sure Dorian has relatives who would happily volunteer one of their kids to be raised by the Divine and his husband (who is potentially the Archon), since that would give them such a leg up and advancement is everythind in Tevinter.)

Arranged Marriage - Slowly Falling in Love with Spouse

After gay marriage is legalised, they agree to an arranged marriage because it’s a politically sound way to tighten the bonds of Ashur’s family to the progressive cause, or they want to present a united front as Divine and Archon, or a similar reason. They expected it to be a purely political connection, but it turns out they make quite a good pair...

Arranged Marriage - Mutual Pining

As above, the marriage was arranged for political reasons, so neither of them wants to overstep their boundaries, thinking they are the only one who is actually in love. When do they figure out their feelings are mutual?

Omegaverse - Omega Thought Infertile Gets Pregnant After Marriage

Ashur didn’t think he could get pregnant, so him and Dorian don’t pay any mind to protection. Turns out, there was apparently a very slight chance...

Maybe the Blight ended up changing Ashur’s body, so to both their surprises, after he’s cured, he can now (and did get) pregnant.

How do they deal with the news of Ashur’s pregnancy? I would like it if they did eventually enjoy the idea, but perhaps it takes a while (or maybe it doesn’t at all)? Maybe male/male couplings for some reason tend to produce less magic babies and they realise their child may face some problems as the offspring of two mages if they are no mage/a weak mage, but both of them also know they will love their child regardless.

Magic - Bringing Someone Back To Life Constitutes Marriage

There is a spell to bring the dead back to life if you can get to them quickly, but, traditionally or actually, it means you are considered intertwined in the Fade or something, so it’s not one that is used lightly or taught much. However, when one of them is killed in a fight (or, in Ashur’s case, maybe the Blight gets him just before everybody gets unblighted), the other ends up using the spell to save him.

Maybe the one who performed the spell feels apologetic he did this without asking, but the other does see that it would have been very hard to get consent from him while he was dead, so, you know, what can you do. They decide to just pretend it’s not a thing, but both of them are secretly pining...

Perhaps when the one who performed the spells tells the other what happened, he reassures him it doesn’t have to mean anything, but the other immediately kisses him.

Magic - Magical Marriage Required To Bring Prosperity And Growth To Ruined Land

I feel like the one time you probably need this kind of spell is after the Blight has fully eaten your capital city. It’s likely an old and complicated spell and Ashur and Dorian both volunteer to do it, since they have the power and are willing to fulfil the requirements, and maybe the Divine and/or Archon doing it might bring down some extra blessings, or at least they hope so. Since they both are ready to do it, it only makes sense to combine their powers. It’s just for Tevinter, right? (When do they figure out it’s not just for Tevinter?)

Maybe Ashur and Dorian were already in a relationship, but neither expected the other to be so okay with the idea of marriage; after all, they both come from Tevinter high society, and Dorian did reflect in Inquisition on how that often means real relationships with other men aren’t considered to be on the table. How do they figure out they both want the commitment not only for the spell?

Magic - Ritual Spell Requires Marital Sex

Ashur or Dorian has to perform an important spell, maybe to draw the Blight out of the seas and land of Minrathous, or something else that would be a good enough reason that he would look to marry someone and sleep with them just to get it done. The other offers his help. Maybe both of them think it’s just for a good cause, but when they sleep together, it becomes obvious it’s more than that.

They’re already married, but now they have to have ritual sex (whether that involves costumes, drugs, dips into the Fade, messing with bloodplay (this is Tevinter, after all), etc.). They were ready to do it for a good cause, but it turns out, it’s actually quite fun.

Dragon Age: Tarquin/Ashur | The Viper

These two stole my heart over the course of the game. They’re such an old married couple, both with their clear affection for each other, but also their back and forth bickering. Whether you want to write about them realising this (probably as the very last people in the Shadow Dragon’s hideout) or would like to write an established relationship, or friends with benefits moving towards more, all would be great. If you go with a blighted Viper, I’d like it if he got unblighted at the end of the game (which I think was vaguely implied for people affected with the new blight, which he is), should your fic touch on that part of canon. Ashur has grown up in the upper crust of Tevinter society, so I’m sure he has been exposed to all the pomp and circumstance of formal courtship. When he sets his sights on Tarquin, maybe his instinct is to court him the way he has been taught? Whether that includes gifts, outings, formal declarations, maybe even magic (this is Tevinter, after all), or whatever else you can think of. How does Tarquin react? This is all highblood nonsense, after all, but I could see him being charmed despite himself, since Ashur is putting quite a bit of effort in.

But there’s probably formal courtship traditions for the non-highbloods, too. Maybe Tarquin is the one who wants to make it clear to Ashur he’d like to get married, so he starts courting him. Maybe there are even local Ventus traditions from his home that he knows and works on Ashur (something to do with the sea, or something more martial like ritual bride stealing, leading him to snatch up Ashur?)!

Courtship - Marriage Ball Held to Find a Spouse

For some reason (law change by the new Archon, discovery of magic mpreg, etc.), same-sex marriage is now possible and Ashur begrudgingly accepts that his family organised this ball for him and goes to have a look at potential husbands; or, perhaps, if he thinks he has no shot with Tarquin, maybe he even organised it himself, resolving to make a sensible political connection. Is Tarquin there as a Templar guard and ends up accidentally pulled into proceedings (or intervenes because he’s jealous), or does he unexpectedly show up as a suitor? Or, if this event was forced on Ashur, maybe Ashur invited him because they’re already together?

Or maybe this is a ball that is supposed to arrange a heterosexual marriage which Ashur was forced to participate in despite the fact that he knows he will not marry a woman (either because he’s gay or because he’s in love with Tarquin or both) and it’s just an awkward evening all around – except for the presence of Tarquin, who Ashur inofficially and secretly chooses as his ‘spouse’.

The prompts for this could even be a pre-canon thing where they don’t know each other yet, but Ashur falls in love with a dashing Templar (who was probably just there to guard the door, but somehow ends up charming the Divine).

I would love to see them dancing together, whether it’s in public (if possible in the setting) or somewhere private with the music from the main hall playing in the distance.

Tarquin doesn’t have the kind of family background to have a big tourney organised for his hand, of course, but maybe these sorts of tournaments for marriage are a Ventus tradition, since they’re a city shaped by its big military presence. So there’s tournaments where several people are looking for partners and contestants get to join in (whether these are serious marriage contests or often just end in one-night stands, both would be fun). Maybe Tarquin decides to take part, only semi-seriously or even actually thinking since he won’t get with Ashur, anyway, he might as well. Only then, Ashur shows up in armour.

Proposal - Attempts to Propose are Continuously Interrupted

These two are busy people in a busy time. Even at the Store, they are rarely by themselves. A proposal is a conversation you probably want to take ten uninterrupted minutes for, but they really don’t have them lately... how does the person who is trying to propose eventually manage to get it done?

Ashur dragging Tarquin up on a rooftop or some other barely accessible part of Tevinter architecture so he can finally propose to him in secret would be fun.

I could see Tarquin losing it and eventually telling everybody who nags them with smaller stuff or interrupts them for jokes or something (looking at you, Dorian and jokey Rook) to shut up before he proposes to Ashur in front of ecerybody.

Ashur dragged Tarquin up on one of his stupid rooftops and here Tarquin is with the stupid Viper and unfortunately it’s stupidly romantic and even stupid Minrathous looks good from this angle. Which one of them succumbs to the mood and proposes?

This would also be very sweet in a story with Blighted (and now unblighted) Viper, too. They get to not only celebrate getting rid of the evil gods, but also that Ashur isn’t going to die.

Who performs their wedding? Maybe they run away to some tiny Chantry that’s still standing in an outer district and a very confused Sister or Brother ends up marrying the Divine to a Templar. Maybe they do have another cleric there who can marry them right in the Divine’s Manor, with a lot of spontaneous guests around. Or they just decide to abscond together, taking a moment all to themselves, and Ashur marries them himself.

Marriage Laws - Changing the Law so They Can Be Married

I think Ashur might approach Dorian or Mae (whoever is Archon) about support for changing the laws for Tevinter marriage, anyway – as the Divine, it is within his purview, after all. However, the fact that he would get to marry Tarquin is certainly a plus.

The Divine and his lover as the first officially married gay couple in Tevinter would be very sweet as well. Tarquin might not generally be a fan of pomp and circumstance, but I feel he might be here to help Ashur make a statement that he means business with his new law (also, to marry Ashur).

Wedding - Priests Perform Their Own Marriage Ceremony

Maybe this is something that is standard for clerics in Tevinter and obviously the Divine would do his part. What does the ceremony look like when one of the participants is also performing it? What changes does it entail?

Or maybe this is a rule that applies specifically to the Divine? Tevinter society is very stratified, so maybe clerics generally get married by higher-ranking members of the clergy, which means the Divine has to perform his own marriage ceremony because no-one outranks him. Five years ago, Tarquin sure didn’t expect to be marrying the only man in the nation who has to perform his own wedding...

Or perhaps this is just a result of the fact that the two of them eloped, or are getting married inofficially or secretly. Still, can’t get a better blessing for your marriage than from the Divine, right?

Wedding Night - Consummation

I do always love me some smut, so I would love to see their wedding night!

It’s probably not their first time together, but is it still unique somehow? I feel like Ashur would expect this (one would assume the Divine to put some weight on a religious ceremony), but maybe Tarquin is surprised by how romantic/special it feels?

A delayed consummation because they fall into bed dead tired and only wake up the next morning would also be very sweet.

Wedding Night - No Sex Just Tired Snuggles

It would be just as romantic for them just to collapse in bed together. After all, if this was a spontaneous post-victory wedding, they have just been through hell and back for weeks. On the other hand, if it was official and there was a whole grand ceremony for the Divine’s wedding attached, it was probably also pretty stressful.

The one who fell asleep first is sheepish the next morning, but the other one reassures them it’s fine.

Forbidden Marriage - Married In Every Way Except Legally

If gay marriage isn’t legal in Tevinter, that still doesn’t stop the fact that the two of them basically act like they’ve been married for 20 years, and their lives are growing pretty intertwined as well. Do they realise this or does someone point it out to them?

Maybe one of them jokes, calling the other his husband at some point, and they realise it’s pretty spot on.

Not married legally could still mean married spiritually, even if it is perhaps in secret. Who better to decide if a marriage is real in the eyes of the Maker than the Divine, after all?

Secret Marriage - We Weren't Going to Tell Anyone but they Found Out Anyway

To keep Tarquin safe and away from the highblood circus, Ashur and Tarquin got married in secret. However, how long can you really keep anything like that secret from Mae and Dorian? Their friends reacting to their marriage would be fun.

Perhaps their secret is revealed on a grander scale and causes quite a scandal in high society, but it eventually becomes clear they are actually quite a popular couple with the Tevinter commoners. They like that the Divine didn’t just keep his commoner lover on the side and Tarquin, as an ex-soldier and Templar, has their respect.

Gay marriage got legalised, so now Ashur has a lot of new pushy suitors (maybe it was already rumoured he was more interested in men). Tarquin loses his nerve watching this eventually and asserts himself as Ashur’s husband, even though they hadn’t planned to tell anyone. Turns out, Ashur is probably not even mad about it.

The two of them meeting each other’s families (or a focus on one of them meeting the other’s family) could be quite interesting as well

Established Marriage - Decide to Adopt a Child Together

There must be a ton of orphans after everything that happened in Minrathous and perhaps they eventually end up with one of them in their arms through happenstance, or actively seek out a child to adopt.

Or maybe Ashur assuages his family’s complaints about his having married a man (and a Soporati at that!) by taking in one of his sibling’s/cousin’s kids as a permanent ward to raise, since Tarquin and him were looking to adopt, anyway.

Arranged Marriage - Mutual Pining

Maybe Elgar’nan’s minions coerce the Divine into a marriage with a lowly Soporati Templar from the Archives to humiliate him, since he’s so fond of commoners and slaves. Well, Ashur is somewhat distressed about this, but for entirely different reasons, as he’s been interested in Tarquin for a while. Similarly, Tarquin is also pining. Since this marriage was arranged basically by force, neither of them wants to overstep boundaries... when do they figure it out?

For some arcane religious reason, Ashur has to marry a regular Templar because every however many years, that is how the Tevinter Chantry ties itself back to the Templar Order. This could be pre-canon, or even pre-Ashur being the Divine, but it could also be tied to his Divine status, or could already be during his time as the Viper. Somehow, Tarquin ends up being the choice (perhaps this is the result of a lot of politicking landing on a candidate that at least won’t displease anyone? Or he threw his hat in the ring to make fun of the process and somehow ends up picked?). How do they navigate this marriage? How do they end up falling in love, and maybe eventually even realising they’re interested in each other?

Omegaverse - Mating Run Ends in Marriage

Nobody has been able to catch Omega Ashur so far, since being the Divine means also being the Grand Enchanter and he should be quite the impressive mage. However, when Ashur sees Tarquin at the starting lines, well, suddenly his motivation to escape is a lot lower...

I feel like Ashur would make Tarquin work for it a bit, but is there maybe a strategic stumble in his run somewhere?

Or maybe Ashur planned to let himself be caught, but Tarquin actually has a trick up his sleeve and catches him before Ashur planned for that to happen.

Omegaverse - Omega Thought Infertile Gets Pregnant After Marriage

Ashur didn’t think he could get pregnant, so him and Tarquin don’t pay any mind to protection. Turns out, there was apparently a very slight chance...

Maybe the Blight ended up changing Ashur’s body, so to both their surprises, after he’s cured, he can now (and did get) pregnant.

How do they deal with the news of Ashur’s pregnancy? I would like it if they did eventually enjoy the idea, but perhaps it takes a while (or maybe it doesn’t at all)? Or maybe Tarquin is worried Ashur will feel in two minds about it, since male/male couplings for some reason tend to produce less magic babies and/or because Tarquin is a Soporati who obviously doesn’t fit into the breeding plans of Ashur’s family. However, Ashur reassures him he doesn’t care at all if their child is a mage (and will fight his family about it).

Magic - Bringing Someone Back To Life Constitutes Marriage

There is a spell to bring the dead back to life if you can get to them quickly, but, traditionally or actually, it means you are considered intertwined in the Fade or something, so it’s not one that is used lightly or taught much. However, when Tarquin is killed in a fight, Ashur ends up using the spell to save him.

Maybe Ashur feels apologetic he did this without asking Tarquin, but Tarquin does see that it would have been very hard to get consent from him while he was dead, so, you know, what can you do. They decide to just pretend it’s not a thing, but both of them are secretly pining...

Perhaps when Ashur tells Tarquin what happens, he reassures him it doesn’t have to mean anything, but Tarquin immediately kisses him.

Magic - Magical Marriage Required To Bring Prosperity And Growth To Ruined Land

I feel like the one time you probably need this kind of spell is after the Blight has fully eaten your capital city. It’s likely an old and complicated spell and Ashur volunteers to do it, since he has both the power and is willing to fulfil the requirements, and maybe the Divine doing it might bring down some extra blessings, or at least they hope so. And, well, Tarquin also wants to bring prosperity and growth to the ruined land, so he volunteers to help. It’s just for Tevinter, right? (When do they figure out it’s not just for Tevinter?)

Maybe Ashur and Tarquin were already in a relationship, but Ashur didn’t expect Tarquin to be so okay with the idea of marriage, especially if it ties him publically to the Divine and forces him to interact with highbloods, so he thinks this is a big sacrifice for him. Turns out, Tarquin is ready to deal with that if it means getting to be with Ashur.

Magic - Ritual Spell Requires Marital Sex

Ashur has to perform an important spell, maybe to draw the Blight out of the seas and land of Minrathous, or something else that would be a good enough reason that he would look to marry someone and sleep with them just to get it done. Tarquin offers his help. Maybe both of them think it’s just for a good cause, but when they sleep together, it becomes obvious it’s more than that.

They’re already married, but now they have to have ritual sex (whether that involves costumes, drugs, dips into the Fade, messing with bloodplay (this is Tevinter, after all), etc.). Tarquin was ready to help Ashur for a good cause, but it turns out, it’s actually quite fun.

Cyberpunk 2077 (Video Game): Male V/Delamain

Okay, so a taxi service is certainly kind of a new one for me as far as characters I love go, but Delamain and his relationship with V are great. I really like his perspective on humanity and how he purposefully sought out a job where he has a lot of contact with humans and their chaos because he enjoys adapting to it, and also that he seems to have a concept of beauty and some philosophical thoughts on humanity. V also seemed quite impressed with Delamain and considering how many bad things happen around and to V, Delamain seemed like a bright spot in Night City.

From non-lethal to highly dangerous, I’m happy for any interpretation of V that’s not on the road to becoming full cyberpsycho, with any look and origin you prefer. I’m not into major character death, so if you’re setting it post-ending, it’d be great if Mr. Blue Eyes could find a way to keep V alive, or if V found a different way to cheat the 6 month time limit (this doesn’t have to be part of the story, you can just handwave it). As for Delamain, I’m happy with him being Delamain V.2 (Reset), Delamain Jr. (Merge), Excelsior (Destroy), or for V to find a way to keep Delamain V.1 intact while also releasing his other personalities, in case you’re setting it after Don’t Lose Your Mind.

I prefer Delamain to bottom and sub, but considering his state, those roles might not even be applicable considering he doesn’t have a human body. He can get an android one, though! Or not, both is fine! The only thing I’m not really interested in is objectophilia/sex involving the cars too directly (sitting in the car to jerk off to be close to Delamain, or playfully touching or patting the cars outside of sex would be perfectly fine, though). If you wanna do A/B/O and V is an alpha or a beta who is into omegas, maybe Delamain adjusts his potential mechanical body accordingly to be closer to that of an omega.

Courtship - Unconventional Courtship that Ends in Marriage

I feel if you’re courting a taxi service AI (or if you are a taxi service AI courting someone), it can really only be unconventional. What does it look like?

If Delamain was split off from his other personalities and they are still around, maybe V asks them about what he could do to court Delamain? Do they have any useable ideas?

Delamain taking V on a VIP tour around Night City could be fun. What special ameneties does the Courting Package have?

A ‘traditional’ date could be cute, too – whether Delamain has an android body, or whether V somehow makes it happen with one of his little drones or a car instead.

Proposal - "We Could Be Dead Tomorrow So Let's Get Married Today"

This is V throughout the game, but even afterwards, if he hasn’t yet figured out a solution. Delamain has also experienced that he is not quite as stable a creature as he may have thought before, so even though he probably does take failsaves after his personality split to prevent this from happening again (whatever identity of him got through), he might also see the value of not waiting forever.

Proposal - Blurting Out Proposal Unplanned

Maybe one of them proposes in the middle of V using all those self-defence options the Delamain possesses (or some other combat situation)!

Of course, an unexpectedly romantic moment could trigger a proposal as well.

V probably wouldn’t have proposed in front of Johnny (whether he’s around because they managed to attract him from V, or still in V’s head) if he’d thought about it, but well, it was unplanned...

Outside of when personalities are trying to tear out of him, Delamain is probably not used to doing anything that he didn’t actually plan to do – he is an AI, after all. However, we’ve seen he can be an emotional AI as well, so perhaps he’s the one proposing unplanned.

Proposal - Attempts to Propose are Continuously Interrupted

Could be because they’re in combat, but also, maybe Delamain is being distracted by his various customers in the taxis, or he and V are at the Afterlife and V’s acquaintances keep interrupting, maybe Johnny is distracting V (inside his head or, if they managed to separate, outside) – anything like that, they are both busy people!

Maybe Delamain eventually drives V to a secluded spot? Or alternatively, V drives a Delamain car to a secluded spot so they can get some alone time.

Proposal - Over The Top But Heartfelt

V figures, better too much than too little. Delamain has probably seen a lot of impressive proposals in/by his taxis, since that would be a good occasion to book them, so he has something to live up to! Alternatively, maybe V always liked the idea of doing something more bombastic.

Delamain might figure V would like something special, or perhaps he is indeed working off the things he has witnessed in/by his taxis and uses that as a baselines for his extravagant proposal.

Engagement - Engaged in Secret

Delamain isn’t actually supposed to be a person because otherwise he could be classed as an illegal immigrant, right? So flaunting that he has a fiancé may not be a good idea. That, or V doesn’t want his enemies to know about his connection to Delamain. Still, they do very much consider themselves engaged.

Elopement - Celebrate Victory with Spontaneous Act of Marriage

V comes back from Arasaka, or V finds a way to heal himself, or any of V’s smaller victories in the game would work here!

Perhaps the victory is also splitting Delamain off his wayward personality without destroying him as a result. That might certainly make them think about wanting some sort of official confirmation for their relationship.

Elopement - First Time in Public After Eloping

If V is a Night City Legend, he could probably engineer things so that Delamain would be allowed to start showing up as his ‘boyfriend’, whether still in taxi or drone form or with an Android body. That would be an interesting new husband to bring to the Afterlife...

For a smaller scale, V’s friends would probably be a little surprised hearing who (and what) his husband is, especially if they weren’t aware of the relationship before or figured it was more of V experimenting with something weird.

Wedding Planning - Choosing an Engagement Ring

How does the person who is picking the ring go about choosing? Delamain would probably end up choosing something quite classy for V if he’s picking out the ring, but on the other hand, V’s outfits can be very eccentric if you want them to be, so maybe for a more ‘avant-garde’ V, Delamain leans into that?

Picking an engagement ring for Delamain could certainly be a challenge, especially if he has no android body yet or V wants to give him something he can “access” as an AI, or wear on a taxi. Does he have any ideas?

Obviously, the two of them choosing something together would also be great!

Wedding Ceremony - Interrupted by Villains

V has made a lot of enemies, so this could easily happen. Who is attacking and how do V and Delamain get rid of the unwanted guests?

Or maybe someone is trying to mess with Delamain and DDoSing him during the wedding or something like that. V has a little netrunning experience – or he could just find whoever is doing it and deal with them in the real world.

I would find it very entertaining if they just resumed the wedding after the villains are taken care of. I feel like most people who’d show up at their wedding wouldn’t be too upset by a small hiccup like that, anyway.

Wedding - First Legal Marriage Of Its Kind

Maybe Night City Legend V pulled some strings to get Delamain a legal identity, or Delamain was able to make that happen. This positions V as the first person to officially marry an AI. What are the reactions like?

Wedding Night - Consummation

Smut is always great! Consummation could mean a lot of things for them and I’m interested to see what you come up with. One fun idea ideas might be that Delamain got an android body finished right before the wedding, so this is their first time with a human(ish) Delamain.

Many ways this could come about! Maybe they go through an agency, but in Night City, I feel like you could also just happen upon orphans, one of which V and Delamain accidentally befriend. Also, depending on V’s background, he might hear about a kid from back home/with the Nomads who needs a place.

Maybe this “child” is even a nascent/errant bit of code of a new AI that Delamain happens upon and decides to take under his wing and V gets involved.

Secret Marriage - We Weren't Going to Tell Anyone but they Found Out Anyway

Maybe V and Delamain wanted to keep things quiet so Delamain doesn’t get pulled into V’s battles (he does certainly make enemies), but V has a pretty high profile at this point, so info gets out, anyway. How do they deal with it? Perhaps Delamain doesn’t mind and is quite willing to deal with whatever trouble may come, anyway, if it means being officially V’s partner?

It could also be a situation where only V’s friends find out. What are their reactions?

Forbidden Marriage - Married In Every Way Except Legally

Due to Delamain’s difficult legal (and existence) status, getting officially married isn’t possible – but it’s really not necessary, either, since they’re still basically married.

I do love characters having that moment where they suddenly realise “oh yeah, I guess we’re sort of married, the way we act”, so something centred around that would be great as well.

A non-legal wedding ceremony would also be cute.

Fake Marriage - While Mutually Pining

For some reason, V and Delamain have to pretend to be married – maybe V takes Delamain’s android to some function he’s infiltrating, maybe V gets them marriage papers so Delamain doesn’t get classed as an illegal immigrant, or anything else like that. And they do make a pretty convincing couple, which is so hard not to notice when you’re pining... do they figure it out in the end?

Ritual Bride Stealing

I feel this could be kind of fun. Maybe it’s a tradition that Nomad V knows from back home or that has started to spring up in some Night City districts, or just something they saw in a documentary and found interesting. Can Delamain lure V into one of his taxis and bring him to HQ? Or maybe V hijacks one of Delamain’s cars and thus “steals” the bride? Maybe he absconds with one of Delamain’s drones? But Delamain could also have an android body so that the “stealing” can happen in a more traditional way, no matter which direction it goes.

Soul Bond - A Searches for the person with their Soulmark; never expects it could be B

If Delamain is a real person and soulmarks exist, it stands to reason that he could have one, right? Did he know about it or does he only figure it out when his bond with V becomes apparent? Did V think he didn’t have a partner in this soul bond until he stepped into Delamain HQ and suddenly learned something new? How do they deal with it?

Omegaverse - Mating Run Ends in Marriage

I just really like the idea of Delamain taking part in a mating run because... well, he’s (mostly) a collection of cars, so that would probably turn the mating run into a car chase. But V is really good at chasing Delamain cars by this point! Perhaps Delamain suggested this because Alpha V said he enjoyed this kind of thing, or just because his general curiosity leads him to want to try it out? V would probably have fun, anyway.

Hades (Video Game): Hermes/Charon

Charon is such a mysterious figure, considering we can only ever infer what he actually says in the games, but Hermes talks enough for the two of them, so I think it really balances out. The fact that they have a working relationship, canonically and in mythology, is also really fun and provides great opportunities for the two of them to meet and get to know each other even before Zagreus’s plight becomes something for both of them to work on. I would love to see anything from when they first started to work together, through their long working relationship, or during and after the events of the game.

For smut, I prefer bottom and sub Charon. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Charon. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Charon and alpha or beta Hermes. Considering it’s not all that clear what is going on under Charon’s robes, feel free to give him any set or combination of genitalia you like. Also, you can interpret him to be basically just as human-looking as his brothers are, or make him a little more skeletal, or otherwise lean into the cryptid idea as deeply as you wish.

Courtship - Formal Courtship with the Intention of Marriage

What would a formal courtship look like for them? This could include ancient Greek traditions, but the world of the video game also has many charming features that could be used for this purpose.

Is Charon perhaps a bit awkward about the matter if he’s trying to court Hermes? He’s not exactly the kind of god anyone probably expected to be looking for marriage.

Perhaps Charon he even gets help from Zagreus, in the grand tradition of Zagreus helping couples (re)unite?)

I feel if you wanted to court Charon, bringing trinkets (and gold) he can stow away would be a great start. Does Hermes find any special presents for him?

Marriage Contest - Tournament involving Combat

Let’s say this kind of tournament is a tradition, either on Olympus or down in Hades. Even after the reunion, neither faction would probably expect someone from the other side to show up to compete for the hand of one of their own. However, both Hermes and Charon would probably be quite excited to see the other at their tournament...

This could also be a tournament where the suitor has to beat the potential husband in combat.

Proposal - Blurting Out Proposal Unplanned

If you talk as fast as Hermes does, sometimes you may let a few words slip that you didn’t mean to say yet...

Could this happen to Charon? I mean, in a way that anybody else understands? Maybe Charon is happy about his lack of regular communication skills in that moment, but actually, Hermes knows him quite well and can put the pieces together.

They are both busy people living around very... active friends and relatives. Not to mention the various troubles that keep befalling both above as below! Do they manage to eventually carve out a time free from interruptions?

Perhaps Hermes eventually makes use of his motormouth to get his full proposal in before anybody can interrupt again.

Or maybe Charon takes Hermes into some unknown arm of the Styx on his boat so they have an uninterrupted moment to themselves, either because he wants to propose or because he can tell Hermes has been wanting to say something for a while now.

Hades and Olympus haven’t been communicating much lately and there’s probably some traditions that they don’t share. What is it that the person hands over to the other, and when do they realise the misunderstanding? Of course, I’d love it if they were quite happy to just go with it even after they realise it was a communication hiccup.

Especially before/during the events of the first game, the atmosphere between their factions is quite frosty. Even afterwards, a new marriage connection might still be frowned upon for a few decades or centuries, so they decide to keep it quiet for a while.

Would love to see how this goes.

Although Charon and Hermes know they like each other, each doesn’t know the other is also in love with them... do they eventually realise the pining is unnecessary?

I do love the idea of a scary big omega like Charon, but I imagine a lot of alphas would have balked at trying to claim him (if he’d even allowed any to get that far). However, Hermes is very happy to oblige with the rules for confirming a marriage.

Omega Charon was usually a very successful participant in mating runs – nobody managed to (or perhaps dared to) catch him. However, it does feel a bit unfair if the fastest god in the roster is going after you. Not that Charon terribly minds being caught in this case.

Perhaps because of his more skeletal (or otherwise more cryptid) body, it was figured Omega Charon probably wasn’t going to be able to produce any children. However, it turns out pairing him with a fertility god may have been the answer.

Maybe this is also years after the wedding! Charon really is not very fertile, but there was that small chance, after all.

Proposal - Unplanned Pregnancy Triggers Marriage Proposal

Charon and Hades have been together for a while, but a pregnancy complicated their (likely clanedestine) relationship. Maybe Charon is willing to just hide the name of the other father? But Hermes decides he doesn’t want to pretend not to be the father of his child and it’s not like he doesn’t plan on staying with Charon, anyway.

Maybe they were pining friend with benefits and this whole situation forces them to confront their feelings?

Beyond Evil: Han Joo-won/Lee Dong-sik

Han Joo-won/Lee Dong-sik
This couple really got me good. Police cop partners are such a classic trope and the push and pull between Joo-won and Dong-sik was absolutely immaculate. I would love to see scenes from a relationship that develops during the show or something after the ending, where they end up being drawn to each other again. Enemies-with-benefits to romance would also work great for them, but I also like fics that take them there from a point when they’ve already become friendly. For smut, I prefer bottom and sub Dong-sik. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Dong-sik. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Dong-sik and alpha or beta Joo-won.

Courtship - Formal Courtship with the Intention of Marriage

Joo-won can be a bit stiff when it comes to dealing with people, so he seems like the kind of guy who might turn to formal rules to sort out how to court somebody. Dong-sik is probably a bit flabbergasted that anyone would try to seriously court him, but perhaps also a bit charmed by Joo-won’s earnestness?

Perhaps Dong-sik thinks Joo-won seems like the kind who’d enjoy something more formal, so he tries his hand at this type of more serious courtship?

Proposal - A who always playfully rejects B's repeated marriage proposals finally says yes

This feels like something Dong-sik would do? Like he tells Han Joo-won he’s too old anyway, Han Joo-won just doesn’t have enough experience yet to know he’ll fall in love again, and so on; maybe he actually does think Han Joo-won has better options than someone as broken as Dong-sik considers himself. However, in a weak moment, Dong-sik finally relents, since he does want to marry Joo-won, after all.

Proposal - Blurting Out Proposal Unplanned

Dong-sik knows how to get his fingers under Joo-won’s armour, so if he teases Joo-won too much, he could probably get him to blurt out something like that. Dong-sik would probably be quite surprised himself that this happened, though!

Dong-sik, despite being considered a bit mad, does seem to have way better control over what he says. It would be quite a surprise to both of them if he was the one who slipped up!

This could also happen because one of them got hurt on the job or some other dramatic situation like that.

Of course, a romantic setting might trigger this, too, if you want to go for something sweeter.

Proposal - Over The Top But Heartfelt

I feel this would be very cute from Joo-won. He doesn’t seem that experienced with romantic relationships, especially the serious kind, so he might not want to mess it up and instead does the whole high-class restaurant or romantic holiday setting type thing, plus of course an expensive engagement ring (maybe it even appeals to him on a personal level to “do it right” like that). Dong-sik probably thinks it’s way more than necessary, but also very sweet.

Proposal - "We Could Be Dead Tomorrow So Let's Get Married Today"

Death has sort of followed these two around way too much, so I could see them getting into this mindset. Maybe they marry even before Dong-sik goes to prison, or relatively soon after, wanting to show their commitment to each other.

Engagement - Engaged in Secret

Maybe the two of them got engaged before Dong-sik went to prison, but decided to keep it quiet for now until the media circus had moved on?

Even if it happens after prison, maybe they just want to keep it a secret for a bit because Joo-won is a somewhat socially awkward/cold character who needs time to get used to a change as drastic as this, and Dong-sik is happy to give him that time.

Elopement - Celebrate Victory with Spontaneous Act of Marriage

Perhaps they (or one of them) cracked an important case and this is their celebration?

Or maybe they are just celebrating that something in their life is going well for once, like their relationship? Honestly, especially for Dong-sik, that counts as a victory.

Elopement - First Time in Public After Eloping

I would love to see the reactions of their friends and/or Kwon Hyeok. Did they even know that the two of them were a couple? Even if they did, did they know it was that serious?

Wedding - Dream Wedding

After everything, I just want these two to have some nice things for once. Does Joo-won have some secret ideas about what his perfect wedding would look like? I think Dong-sik would be happy to indulge him (and well, Joo-won has the money to make it happen).

Dong-sik seems like the type to have long given up on dreams like that, but maybe Joo-won manages to unearth some old ideas, after all, and make them a reality?

Wedding Night - Consummation

Smut is always great! They probably didn’t wait until marriage to sleep together, but perhaps it’s still quite a special night. Joo-won seems like he might have been too rational to expect that, so that might be a sweet surprise for him. And what about Dong-sik? Did he know he would probably feel some type of way about the situation, or was he trying to keep his expectations realistic (lots of stories about people being dead tired/annoyed after the whole wedding festivities) and is pleasantly surprised?

Dong-sik seems like the type to have a naughty surprise for his husband for the wedding night. Maybe he has something prepared?

Wedding Night - No Sex Just Tired Snuggles

Or the two of them just fall into bed and go to sleep! That is also a totally valid way to spend the wedding night.

Whoever fell alseep first may feel a bit awkward about it, but the other reassures them it is fine. Do they have a lazy morning to match, or do they maybe make up for last night?

Secret Marriage - We Weren't Going to Tell Anyone but they Found Out Anyway

Maybe because of Joo-won’s career prospects (which could be hampered by homophobic colleagues – or just by being married to a cop with a reputation as a madman with a serial killer in the family and a rap sheet), the two of them decide to keep their marriage quiet. What happens when they get found out?

Established Marriage - Decide to Adopt a Child Together

This would be cute! Maybe they go through an adoption agency, or it’s just something that happens through circumstances. I could see both both of them struggling with the prospect of parenthood (Dong-sik already having lost a daughter of sorts, and Joo-won with his difficult relationship to his father), so working through that would also be interesting.

Omegaverse - Only Considered Married if Bitten or Knotted

I could see alpha Joo-won being a bit uncomfortable with the more brutal instincts of his nature, but if they want to be married, it has to be done. I’m sure omega Dong-sik can make him comfortable enough that it’s fun, too.

Or perhaps, to omega Dong-sik’s surprise, alpha Joo-won is very much eager to indulge these particular instincts.

If Joo-won is a beta, the biting might not come quite so naturally, so omega Dong-sik kind of has to lead him there.

Omegaverse - Mating Run Ends in Marriage

Omega Dong-sik is just kind of participating for fun and maybe to make up some numbers on a Manyang mating run that doesn’t have that many people because who’d chase him, anyway? However, when alpha/Beta Joo-won hears about it, he suddenly decides a day running through the muddy fields doesn’t sound so bad...

Omegaverse - Omega Thought Infertile Gets Pregnant After Marriage

Maybe because of prior health complications or because of stress/the medicines he took, omega Dong-sik is basically considered infertile. However, that apparently does still leave a small chance, since he does get pregnant after they got married.

Fake Marriage - While Mutually Pining

For a case, Joo-won and Dong-sik pretend to be married to infiltrate somewhere. It works better than they thought, so that would all be great if playing husbands wasn’t coming so damn natural to them, putting ideas in their heads... do they realise they are both pining?

Marriage Laws - Marriage Required as a Form of Criminal Rehabilitation

Could be an interesting AU. Maybe to be considered fully rehabilitated, Dong-sik would have to get married. He’s fine with accepting that won’t happen, but Joo-won steps up. At first Dong-sik is resistant because while he is in love with him, Joo-won is clearly just doing this to make up for the sins of his father, right? But it turns out, Joo-won may have more personal interest in this than Dong-sik realises.

Maybe Dong-sik was considered infertile or maybe he didn’t even know he could get pregnant (if mpreg is rare). Either way, this is quite the surprise for them, and considering both their difficult family backgrounds, probably something they have to chew on, too. If Joo-won proposes, does Dong-sik reject him at first, thinking he’s only doing it out of a sense of duty? But perhaps Joo-won was just waiting for an excuse, anyway.

If this was a friends-with-benefits-while-pining type situation, maybe it forces them to confront their feelings for each other?

Soul Bond - A Searches for the person with their Soulmark; never expects it could be B

When do they realise their soul bond? If it was sometime during the initial investigation, I almost think that still wouldn’t have changed so much – they were both way too focused on other things and Joo-won may have thought this was just an old superstition, anyway. However, when things cool down, how do they then deal with the matter?
