thank you for writing or drawing for me! Right from the start, I want to say fanfic and fanart are both very welcome for all fandoms. You don’t have to do anything with my prompts, they’re just there in case you want some ideas. If it has my pairing and avoids my DNWs, I’m sure I’ll enjoy it! All ratings are fine.
Feel free to entirely erase the existence of canon relationships or have them be already broken up if they get in the way of the pairings I requested, whichever works best with what you’re trying to do.
Considering the number of canons I have where you slaughter your way through untold heaps of NPCs, I should also point out I generally have no problem with gore, blood, and graphic violence. Blood drinking and cannibalism are fine, too – otherwise, some of my requested characters couldn’t even have dinner.

As for a/b/o, for Original Works, I only want it if it’s specified in the nominated character descriptions. For fandoms, a/b/o is always okay! I usually have slight preferences about who is alpha or omega there, so to make it easier I just put the omega behind the / (you can use these as a guide if you wanted to write something BDSM, too, for Dom/sub, with sub behind the /). However, I can usually be easily convinced of the other configuration, too, and I also really like less common stuff like alpha/alpha or beta/omega or something along those lines.

Ratonhnhaké:ton | Connor/Clipper Wilkinson
If you don’t quite remember Clipper, well, I don’t blame you! He doesn’t have a big role, but he made an impact on me. He’s the Assassin recruit who allows you to order sniping at a distance when you call for your little helpers in a fight. Here is a video with all interactions you have with him directly.
As for prompts, Clipper says he doesn’t drink because he can’t hold his alcohol, so maybe a situation where he did get drunk for some reason (big Assassin celebration? Another recruit wanted to play a dumb trick on him and spiked his drink?) and what that results in. Perhaps Connor takes him out of harm’s way, or Clipper stumbles over to him and decides to make a love confession.
I also thought that it was cute Clipper said he wanted to fight like Connor some day. They should train together! Or go hunting, since Clipper comes from a hunting family and is a crack shot with a musket, and Connor needs to get those hunting achievement trophies somehow, after all. Or maybe Connor teaches Clipper to shoot with a bow and arrow to give him a stealthier alternative, or Clipper shows Connor how to handle a musket.
Clipper left his family behind and seemed to me to still be looking for a real place in life. Wouldn’t he make a great addition to Connor’s little village, helping out the people there together with Connor? Maybe Connor moves him in there (or right into his own house…).
Fluff of any kind for these two would be great, since they’re both such quiet, understated, kind types. Poor Connor is one of the Assassins in the series who doesn’t really have much of a confidante for most of the game, I find, yet he has a lot on his shoulders. Clipper could lend an ear and give Connor the hug he deserves (or more). I’d be just as happy to see these two fighting redcoats and being cool Assassins together, though!
Haytham Kenway/Charles Lee
A pairing from the wrong side of the train tracks, so to speak, in Assassin's Creed terms. I've always loved Charles' devotion to Haytham and Haytham bemused reaction to meeting this guy in full "senpai notice me" mode.
Anything set in the early years would be great. Templar adventures, searching precursor items, meddling in politics, Haytham teaching Charles some assassin techniques, the two of them falling in love slowly or quickly, a cute scene with Charles' (non-canonical, but in reality existant) dogs all up in Haytham's business, it's all awesome.
Hell, perhaps being Haytham's partner would mellow Charles out a bit - I'm sure if Haytham chastised him for something, Charles would stop immediately (and I wouldn't mind a scene of Haytham, ehm, disciplining and teaching him to control his temper in a more intimate manner). So Charles might not randomly punch children for no particular reason anymore, which would certainly have interesting repercussions on the plot of the game, though that needn't be part of the fic. I would love a scene where Haytham notices Charles' worse traits early on and, since he's already very partial to him, decides to use his influence over him for good, while maybe also kissing him somewhere in there!
Then again, I'm not against villain people doing villain things together, either, as long as it's within the borders of what's reasonable for the Templar Order, of course.
Feel free to go with a full canon divergence AU, too. Perhaps Charles arrives at Connor's village a few hours later than he does in game, when everything is already on fire, and, knowing for some reason that Connor is Haytham's son, takes the wounded boy back to Haytham and it's the start to a Connor Grows Up As A Templar AU - family fluff with that sort of dark edge would be really interesting.
But if you do prefer the later years, I'd also be totally happy with any romantic scenes that are written into existant canon, there's a lot of skipped time, after all. Perhaps a reunion after one of their absences? Or a mission they go on together, sneaking and fighting alongside each other.
Ezio Auditore da Firenze/Leonardo da Vinci
Ah man, I’ve loved this couple for years. Basically anything romantic between tham that happens during the course of the first two games would be great. Maybe Ezio can save Leonardo from trouble he got in for helping Ezio and escape with him over the rooftops, or conversely Leonardo can even think of a way to get Ezio out of a sticky situation, though he’s not as good at doling out physical punishment.
A younger Ezio doing his macho flirting act with Leonardo (and realising he may actually have a crush) would be really entertaining, but I would just as much like a story from the timeline of Brotherhood/the end of the first game, when Ezio has already matured. What could also be really fun would be a scene that follows this one when Ezio belatedly understands what Leonardo was trying to say and explores Leonardo’s lack of interest in women a bit further, heh.
Ezio being forced to test some more inventions of Leonardo’s would be great, but I would also like a vignette about Ezio being more seriously charmed by Leonardo’s genius and enthusiasm. What would also be cool would be Ezio finding some sketches or a portrait Leonardo made of him at some point, which Leonardo might keep hidden to protect Ezio’s identity or for other, more private reasons.
Finally, Ezio just turning his full charm on Leonardo and sweeping him off his feet would be super sweet, since living in the times he did, Leonardo probably never got much of that sort of romance in his life.
Adéwalé/Edward Kenway
Honestly, I’d be ecstatic about any kind of story from the years in which they were happy together as pirates on the Jackdaw. I can see them falling into bed on the first evening after their escape, but I could also see them building up trust (and huge crushes) for a while before anything that way happens.
They could explore uninhabited islands, or make it through a big storm, or catch a whale, or dig up treasure, or simply get through their gold drinking at a port and finding trouble in town afterwards, and so on, and if you can sneak in a kiss or flirting or some smut or romance, well, I’d be over the moon. Generally, I’m simply after reading about them interacting because I love their friendship and would gladly see it taken a bit further.
Also, if you decided that Edward’s redemption arc ended in him raising his daughter on his little island with Adéwalé instead of him going back to England to be unceremoniously killed by some offscreen mooks and having his daughter sold into slavery, er, yeah, I would like that a lot. Even though I’m aware this one veers hard into AU-land, since it would basically mean Haytham wouln’t be born. If you wanna futz with the timeline a bit and bring in Adéwalé’s son Babatunde, that’d be great, too, as long as Adéwalé’s not still in a relationship/in love with Bastienne.
Along those AU lines, I would also like to generally see Adéwalé and Edward working together post-game, killing Templars, freeing slaves, and generally being badass Assassin husbands.
Xenia/Kassandra OR Xenia/Alexios
I love that Xenia calls Kassandra/Alexios her West Wind and other nicknames, I love their subtle flirting, and their shared passion for treasure and drachmea! For prompts, I’d like something sweet about poor Kassandra/Alexios reflecting on coming to Keos again and again, hoping to get an in with Xenia with all their heroic retrievals (and maybe how they finally get lucky, since that scene was quite brief in the game).
If you wanna go more of an action route, I was also interested in Xenia saying she used to be out and about exploring when she was younger herself. Maybe she can put aside her responsibilities for a couple days and have an adventure with Kassandra/Alexios? Or they end up solving a problem on Xenia’s island together.
However, Kassandra/Alexios getting a chance to take breather from their crazy life in Xenia’s company would also be really nice.
Another idea is perhaps Kassandra/Alexios breaking their back to get some rare item Xenia didn’t even ask them to find to show they want a deeper relationship with Xenia (and maybe finding out they need just have asked because Xenia might very well like to “own the West Wind”, as she put it)?
Alexios/Thaletas
I think this was one of the romances that felt like it could very well grow into a deeper relationship (and to avoid the whole cheating thing, perhaps him and Kyra never really got off the ground, or were already broken up when he got with Alexios, or he broke up with her early, before Alexios and him really started, over his feelings for him). I would love to see the scene after the war, when they share their deep, dark secrets, as Thaletas suggested. Hell, in general I just want to see their reuninon. It was a sad moment when they realised that their current loyalties and paths in life would force them to stay separated because it seemed like they both thought something could be developing there. Whether Alexios goes to Sparta or Thaletas comes onto his ship, both would be great.
Hell, I’m going to go super shmoopy and say if Thaletas does the thing where he does a 180 on his decision at the last moment and decides sailing with Alexios is what he needs to do, perhaps is even what he should do considering Alexios is solving the problems of the Greek world one-handedly and thus the man to follow, and Thaletas then comes running to the port just before Alexios sets sail… I wouldn’t say no at all, either. Kyra did say Thaletas thinks with his heart, after all.
I love battle couples, so the two of them rooting out some threat would also be a lot of fun. I also think Thaletas would like a rematch! Which, considering Alexios has protagonist power, he’ll probably also lose (or perhaps he has a trick up his sleeve?). It would still be fun to see them test their mettle against each other again, just having a bit of fun between all their responsibilities.
Alexios/Lykaon
This was another touching romance. The fact that they see the strength and talents in each other when their lives are so different is really sweet. I could see Lykaon being very thankful for Alexios for taking a great burden off his shoulders concerning his grandmother and for always helping him out when he needed it, perhaps even worried that their relationship is somewhat one-sided; but on the other hand, Alexios could see a calm haven in the storm that is his life in Lykaon’s presence.
I would love just a sweet little scene of Lykaon patching Alexios up, or perhaps even something post-game where Alexios returns to Lykaon for good (I assume he’s still going to be sailing in his ship, but his home would be with him), or just Alexios being unable to not turn his ship towards Lykaon during the course of the game whenever he doesn’t have any other pressing matters to attend to. He said he can’t stay forever, but he’s starting to prove himself wrong
If you like action, you could also write something about mercenaries or other baddies hassling Lykaon and Alexios swooping in to save him.
Sean Hampton & Old Bridget
Listen, I have a lot of feelings about Vampyr’s resident friendly neighbourhood Skals, and I am so interested in their relationship. It’s clear Old Bridget trusts Sean and Sean has a lot of respect for her.
Maybe she meets him later, after Jonathan cured him, and since that was a whole ordeal, she could calm him down, or generally teach him a little about how to live as a Skal. It might also be interesting for her, since it seems that Old Bridget is seen as very uncommon by the Ekons and thus cured Skals can’t be numerous, and now she’s not alone in that anymore.
Sean could also comfort her after Harriet tears up the Skal hideout (maybe they both feel guilty for bringing/keeping her there). It could even be a sombre moment of them cleaning up and taking care of the corpses of their shared flock.
On the other hand, I’d also love a pre-game fic of when they first met or got to know each other a decade ago. Sean said it took him two months just to get her name. How did those conversations pan out? What was Sean’s reaction to learning about vampires through her, how did he justify it within his Catholic world view? What is Old Bridget’s opinion on this strange man who apparently was like, “Cannibal zombie vampires? Oh well, we’re all children of the Lord!”, what does she think about Sean in general?
Also, Sean said he once visited the Skal hide-out as a human. That sounds interesting, too! Basically, I just want everything about this strange friendship.
Geoffrey McCullum/Sean Hampton
These two don’t meet in-game, but I feel like it’d be really interesting if they did. Geoffrey has probably never met a Skal like Sean before and his new perspective (either because he is a vampire or because Jonathan spared him) might keep him from killing him outright, and Sean could be really good for him, since surely Geoffrey must be affected by what has happened to him recently one way or the other and could use someone kind who is generally ready to listen and help.
Besides, someone’s gotta keep the city standing if Jonathan left to America/the castle, and Sean and Geoffrey are both involved in doing just that, in their own ways. That would give them many opportunities to interact.
What I would also find fascinating is that if Jonathan didn’t turn Geoffrey, Arthur’s blood might still have done it eventually, and perhaps Sean just happens upon Geoffrey when that occurs and helps him through it. That would also create an interesting connection for them.
Hell, for all we know, Geoffrey and Sean could have met before the game. There’s a note from Geoffrey saying he knows they don’t have enough recruits at the East End docks, so it’s not impossible he would walk the perimeter there himself sometimes and eventually meet Sean and even befriend him, since Sean is just a human at that point. I would love a calm-before-the-storm kind of romance or cute scene between them pre-game (which might already be tinged by Sean probably lying to Geoffrey about the undead part of his flock). Alternatively, how would poor Geoffrey react to his crush or even boyfriend turning into a Skal?
Jonathan Reid/Geoffrey McCullum/Sean Hampton
This mess of a threesome is another favourite idea of mine. There’s just so much charge there: the anger Geoffrey must feel for Jonathan, particularly if he has made him an Ekon, his aggression towards vampires turning against Skal Sean, but his newfound knowledge also perhaps halting him and showing him that both Jonathan and Sean might be the kind of vampires who don’t deserve death and thus confusing him a lot in the process. Sean is likely still a bit resentful towards Jonathan, if his curt answer concerning an examination is anything to go by, and Geoffrey would probably scare or at least worry him, but I think Sean would also try to help Jonathan and Geoffrey both, if he knew the extent of their tragedies. Finally, Jonathan sees the good in both these men, but also has to live with the things he’s done to them, and, considering how Geoffrey hunted him, is probably as angry at him as Geoffrey is at Jonathan.
Jonathan is of course the logical connection point between them, so it might start out with him in a relationship/flirting with one of them first before the other joins. But perhaps Jonathan also takes a bit of a break from London after the game and finds his progeny have gotten to know each other in his absence.
A shorter story idea could be the three of them getting locked in somewhere and fighting their way out – though Sean is not much of a fighter, but perhaps he can make a good blood bag for the other two to replenish after or during the battle? (Then again, we know he turns into a tough mini boss if you let him deteriorate, so perhaps there’s more to him in a fight than anyone expects.)
Considering how long an examination of how they got together could go, I’d also be perfectly fine if you skipped to an established three-way relationship kind of deal, just showing how they deal with the world as a triad. How do they approach new threats in the city, how does Geoffrey keep his fellow guards from killing his boyfriends (and potentially himself), do Geoffrey and Sean help Jonathan at the hospital or with searching for a way to quell vampire hunger, and do Geoffrey and Jonathan make sure the shelter stays safe?
I would also just like to see them hanging out, bickering, doing naughty things. These boys are busy, I’m sure they could all stand to relax together sometimes. Just one or all of them reflecting on the relationship would be really interesting, too.
Tom Watts/Sean Hampton
Is this my rarest of pairs? It just might be, considering Tom is just a killable NPC. He’s such a nice fellow, though. It’s clear Sean likes him from what he tells Jonathan, and Tom also has only good things to say about Sean, and they’ve obviously known each other for a long while. And who knows, maybe the real reason Tom hasn’t gotten with Sabrina is that he’s just not interested in women, or that he already has his eye on someone else… ?
Since this pairing is so far non-existant, I would be happy for everything. They could try to help someone together, like Dyson or William Bishop or some other person from the East End. They could just meet up and commiserate a bit and maybe do some flirting. Perhaps Sean falls asleep from exhaustion in Tom’s bar one morning and Tom urges him to stay so he can get proper rest and a meal before returning to his flock. Or it’s Tom who needs help with a family member or some other personal problem, or even some issue with the police, since we know Tom doesn’t like handling law enforcement if he can avoid it. For smut, maybe something starting deeper into the relationship, when Tom slowly shows Sean the good sides of sex?
I just like the idea that as the two protectors of people in the East End, they could turn to each other. They’d be such a nice couple ripe for fluff… and for tragedy, of course, if you time the fic to after Sean gets turned. I would love to see how Tom deals with that, too, or if perhaps he gets more caught up in the chaos trying to help Sean and even ends up not human himself?
Elisabeth Ashbury/Mary Reid
So I’m aware I’m undercutting half of Jonathan’s emotional arc here, but he would absolutely agree that Mary deserves better than she got!
Elisabeth was already hanging ‘round the cemetery when Mary got buried, perhaps she stayed a bit longer than Jonathan and heard scratching from the casket, or found Mary at some point after she’d crawled out of the grave but hadn’t had time yet to murder anyone. Being a good soul, Elisabeth obviously takes her in to protect people from Mary and Mary from herself. With some guidance, a real explanation of what happened, and no blood on her hands, Mary might not totally lose it.
Alternatively, perhaps Elisabeth finds her after she has already killed some people, but since Elisabeth has a bloody past herself, she thinks Mary is not beyond redemption and captures her and drags her home (this would allow for perhaps a fight scene between them, which would be really neat – Mary was a terror of a boss fight, but I’m sure Elisabeth could give her a run for her money!). And then, Elisabeth is quite taken in by this unfortunate, passionate, beautiful woman and Mary is just so touched by Elisabeth’s friendship and assistance… well, you get where I’m going.
Jonathan Reid/Sean Hampton
Ah, the romance option I was hoping for all game long. Anything could make me happy here. You could write me the start of the game like Sean is the love interest! I mean, he’s already Princess Peaching it in Bishop’s den where you valiantly save him, it’s the perfect set-up for a charged conversation back in the hospital. Alternatively, a new/adjusted ending with Sean as Jonathan’s lover would also be great.
I would also generally like a small series of talks between him and Jonathan while Sean is still in Pembroke and doesn’t know he’s a Skal yet. Perhaps Jonathan can get some comfort and guidance from Sean by half-alluding to the terrible situation he’s in (or Sean, having known vampires for a decade, surprises Jonathan eventually with the revelation that he knows very well what Jonathan is and is not afraid of it).
I would also just like to see more of them interacting in general, perhaps caring about patients together, solving a crime in the East End, just growing closer and developing feelings for each other, either during the game or after the end if you make Jonathan return to London. They’re both caretakers with the caveat of being also people-eating monsters by nature, which is a very interesting dichotomy, and I feel like they could lean on each other for support.
I’m also a sucker for vampires feeding and hurt/comfort, so if Jonathan or Sean got hurt and the other offered them some blood, that would also be a great fic. Skals don’t seem to heal as well or quickly as Ekons, either, so maybe Jonathan can put some proper bandages on Sean, too, or Sean could allow him to do that examination he rejected at first (that part could probably veer into a smut prompt, heh).
Finally, Jonathan went through seven kinds of hell in the span of like two weeks in the game. If at some point he runs out of energy, or just has a break-down as it all catches up with him, I would love for Sean to be around to pick him up and comfort him.
Fenris/Varric Tethras
I always thought these two could work out pretty well. Varric teases Fenris and brings out a bit of a humorous side in him, but at the same time you can see in the banter he cares about him, and Fenris obviously likes Varric well enough, too.
Maybe Fenris returns to Kirkwall after DA:I and him and Varric reconnect. Maybe they start dating during the DA2 timeline. Varric’s big strength is that he’s good with people, so I could see him navigating Fenris’ hang-ups pretty well. With their luck, I’m assuming a date would include at least one attack by blood mages or mercenaries, but they could still have fun, I’m sure.
One thing I like about this pairing is how the compact, muscular dwarf Varric is the sly rogue who keeps in the backline and moves across the battlefield like an acrobat, while petite, thin elf Fenris busts out the man-sized greatsword and has tank stamina and endurance. It would be fun just to see them work together in a fight (not like you need to walk far in Kirkwall to find one). Perhaps the enemies even underestimate Fenris’ strength and get a rough wake-up call.
I’d also love to see one of them rescue the other – Varric getting Fenris out of a bad spot with people trying to recapture him (either physically or through his nebulous contacts), or Fenris keeping Varric safe from merchant’s guild assassins.
And maybe Varric can get Fenris to clean up that damn house. Or at least one room. Maybe the bedroom. Alternatively, he just moves Fenris into the Hanged Man.
Male Hawke/Varric Tethras
It’s another romance option that got away, which seems to be a theme in my prompts. I’d enjoy any fic just exploring a day of their exploits from the DA2 timeline, or a reunion during or after the DA:I timeline. Hawke seemed to return to Kirkwall if he was alive, according to the ending slide, after all. I ship them both as a whirlwind romance from when Hawke first set foot into Hightown, to a deep friendship of a decade that then develops into something more.
There is this old interview with Gaider where he said that they almost wrote in that when Varric meets up with Hawke after the interrogation, he says he told them everything, and then Hawke would say “Everything?” and Varric would answer “Don’t worry. I skipped the part about us...” Would love to see that written out, too! Maybe with Hawke also patching up Varric after he got beaten up in the interrogation room, and an idea of what they plan to do now to fix Thedas.
Another idea I like: It was rumoured back in the day that Hawke was meant to be the Inquisitor, once upon a story planning stage. Hawke could have been at the Conclave because he was following Varric’s captors, for example. This would work both for established relationship or perhaps for a reunion that sparks feelings or a confession.
Varric’s reaction after Hawke’s disappearance in the Fade broke my heart! If you’re so inclined, you could fix it for me. Either Hawke comes stumbling out of a rift bleeding and half-dead into the Inquisitor’s keep or into Kirkwall when Varric has returned there, or Varric is in the party and stays behind with him and they fight their way out of the Fade together. Include as much hurt/comfort and desperation-sparked romance as you’d like.
I’m open for any class of Hawke with any personality (and love that Varric gives him differing nicknames depending on which one you learn towards playing, hah). Purple Hawke/Chuckles is of course the one who gets on with Varric like a house on fire, but he seems to like Diplomatic Hawke/Waffles a lot, too, since Varric’s approval rating is usually tied to how decent you are to people. However, I’m just as interested in Varric’s more snarky and difficult relationship with Aggressive Hawke/Killer. Mixing and matching would be fun, too, just like you can do in the game – like for example a Hawke who outwardly is rude and mean and harsh, but when push comes to shove makes his decisions like a Diplomatic Hawke would; or a Purple Hawke with a charming smile and a darker side.
Male Inquisitor/Varric Tethras
Didn’t get to romance him with the Inquisitor, either, dang it! But I really do enjoy Varric’s relationship to His Inquisitorialness, too. I feel like the Inquisitor can trust in Varric for a sort of down-to-earth opinion and general emotional support.
As usual, I’m always open for just exploring what they do day-to-day, especially since their slice-of-life probably includes bandits and magic caves and trecking through the Hinterlands and even a dragon or three. But I’d just as much like to see what trouble they can get up to in posh Orlais.
Maybe the Inquisitor is a fan of Varric’s books, and Varric eventually finds his whole collection in the Inquisitor’s shelves in his room? That would be cute. The Inquisitor could even be a bit jealous of Hawke, since Varric writes him as such a Hero in the Champion’s tale.
Perhaps the Inquisitor, after Trespasser, comes to join Varric in Kirkwall and they celebrate the end of their long-distance relationship? Or he stands on Varric’s doorstep unexpected and uninvited, feeling finally free to confess his feelings now that the burden is off his shoulders. Or, in a slightly sadder vein, the Inquisitor just didn’t feel like he had anywhere else to go, feeling unmoored and alone now that it’s all over and he’s an arm shorter, and he comes to Varric for help.
For a true smutty prompt, the Inquisitor could ease Varric’s bad mood about having to sleep outdoors in the wild by joining Varric in his tent/on his bedstead…
I also kind of would absolutely love to see the Inquisitor dancing with Varric at the Winter Palace ball.
The Inquisitor can be any class, diplomatic or funny or aggressive or a mix of those, and any race. On a shallow level, I’m into height differences, so that of course speaks for humans and qunari, but Varric’s interaction with the Carta dwarf could be really fun, too (they may even have met before, if you wanna go slightly AU), and Elfquisitors always bring in a lot of interesting lore connections to play with.
I know that the fourth season of Sherlock was pretty hotly debated, especially in regards to the last episode. If you write for this fandom, you can include the fourth season or ignore it and pretend the BBC cancelled the show after the holiday special and none of that happened. I have no preference either way.
Mycroft Holmes/Greg Lestrade
Mycroft and his favourite goldfish is another one of these pairings I have had for years and that just won’t let me go. I still love reading almost everythig about them.
I’m a sucker for stories where Greg gets herded into the secret black car for the first time to meet Mycroft. You could adjust the timeline of Greg’s divorce a bit and make it so that when that happens, he already doesn’t have a ring on his finger anymore, if you want to set the romance there (I’d rather not have Greg cheating on his wife). Perhaps they could help Sherlock together and get closer that way. It would also be interesting if Mycroft perhaps was still overweight at this point, so hadn't yet quite managed to shape himself up to the image he wants to project, and Greg liked him, anyway.
Unusual dates are great! Mycroft decides they should meet up on the top of the Colosseum in Rome and has Greg packed into an airplane at dawn, or has to squeeze him in between diplomatic talks and so drags Greg in for tea at Buckingham Palace to spend some time on their anniversary. Or, most shocking at all, he comes to a football game with Greg.
I like stories where they impress each other. Either Greg solves a case by himself or handles a victim really well, or in general does something spontaneous and unexpected that manages to tear Mycroft out of the impression that he always knows at all times what’s going to happen next; or Mycroft showcases his intellect and carefully curated influence to solve a problem for Greg.
I’m also into fics that emphasise that Mycroft is a very dangerous man and a very strange human being, so intelligent Greg may as well be dating a supercomputer. Greg handling this really odd relationship he found himself in and wondering what Mycroft sees in him would be interesting. At the same time, Mycroft may be confused what would draw someone like Greg to a man like him, considering how different they are.
Sebastian Moran/Jim Moriarty
This is probably my one true unapologetic villain pair. Now, considering that Sebastian does not actually exist in BBC’s Sherlock, I have only these requirements: he should be over eighteen, male (cis or trans, either is good), he should know how to handle a sniper rifle, and he shouldn’t be another named character (so no Mary-is-Moran theories, but he can be a dude running around in the background of a shot if you’d like).
The beginnings of their relationship would be interesting. How did they meet? Was Jim already the powerful spider and Sebastian one of his contractors, or were they both young and Sebastian helped him grow his empire? How did they start their relationship, if it can be called that?
Jim survived Reichenbach and surprises a completely distraught Sebastian, who is on the path to self-destruction after his lover’s death (and also probably destroying quite a few other people on the way, let’s be real). Whether Jim gets kissed or punched in the face or both is entirely up to you, but I’d like it if they still got together again in the end, even if Sebastian might threaten to kill him for real.
Or perhaps Jim is the one who thought Sebastian died on some mission and is suddenly confronted with the fact that despite everything, he had true affection for this person.
Both Jim and Sebastian are dangerous killers and completely unreedemable, but I’d still like a story that somehow showcases that they deeply care for each other, even if it’s probably in a twisted, violent, unhealthy way.
John Watson/Greg Lestrade
I always liked this pairing. The two of them just seem to have an easy way around each other and them commiserating over a pint together because of all the troubles the Holmes brothers have put them through just seems like it could be a good start to something more, something closer.
Casefic could be really fun for those two. Maybe Greg doesn’t want to involve Sherlock and Mycroft and instead vents a little bit about a case he’s trying to solve with John, and he notices some detail as an ex-soldier or doctor; or it’s John who stumbles over a corpse and Sherlock is busy or bored by it, so he ends up calling the police, as one would ordinarily do. They could also get kidnapped together! Both are involved with Sherlock, who has a lot of attention on him, and they also know Mycroft. Perhaps they can surprise the Holmes brothers by freeing themselves.
There was that one holiday special on Youtube were Greg brought John the DVD recorded by Sherlock after his death. Perhaps he sees then how much John could need a helping hand, and of course he is also sad about Sherlock, and decides to try to get John out a bit more. Hell, maybe it’s even Greg who John is in the restaurant with when Sherlock finds him again.
Greg might have children himself, so perhaps he can lend a hand with John’s daughter post-S4 and that is how they get closer. I love family fluff, so I’d definitely be weak for a fic exploring this, either with just the three of them (plus uncle Sherlock, perhaps?), or even Greg taking them along with his own kids for an outing at the zoo or something, if his children are still younger, too.
T’Challa/M’Baku
This pairing is awesome. With their, let’s say, troubled beginning in the movie up to the inevitable M’Baku-comes-at-the-last-moment-to-save-the-day scene, all the tension you could ever dream of is already there. Since the Jabari are now ready to join up with the others a bit more, it’s the perfect opportunity for T’Challa and M’Baku to get to know each other better and develop some feelings. I would love to read a fic about their blossoming respect for and interest in each other.
If you wanted to go into trope land a bit and find some made-up traditional reason why it’s absolutely necessary that T’Challa weds M’Baku (perhaps to showcase the reunion of the tribes after the movie, or at some point before the start of the movie because they want to reintigrate the Jabari), I would be here for that with bells on. Arranged marriage fic that leads to real feelings is just great fun.
M’Baku threatened his children would eat Everett Ross, and they could just be part of that joke, but maybe he really has some kids from a former relationship or deceased spouse. How does T’Challa get along with them? Just some patchwork family fun or fluff would be nice.
And of course, perhaps you could fix the great infinity stone disintegration. Considering the line-up of planned Marvel movies, I’d say it’s at least safe to say T’Challa will come back somehow, so them reuniting would be great, whether this is the moment they confess their feelings or they’ve been in a relationship for a while before that and now see each other again.
With both T’Challa and M’Baku being fearsome fighters, them taking down villains together or sharpening their skills against each other would also be super.
Dean Winchester/Benny Lafitte
Benny just appeared in one season, really, but it was enough to steal my heart. His chemistry with Dean was great and I loved how devoted he was to him in his own quiet way, up and including dying to help Dean’s brother, who hadn’t exactly been overly friendly to him. Dean and Benny just got each other.
Would love to read some tales from Purgatory. They hung out there for almost a year, that’s a lot of time for a hunter to develop an inappropriate relationship with a vampire while they fight side by side. What I also enjoyed from the glimpses we got is that Dean seemed to be taking the lead on the torture-for-information gig, generally said he enjoyed Purgatory for its simplicity, and his dark side showed quite a bit. It would be really interesting if, in Purgatory or Topside, monsterman Benny is actually the one who has to hold human Dean back from doing something drastic at some point.
It broke my heart when Benny was just kind of wandering earth failing to make connections. Maybe Dean can convince Sam that Benny is worth taking the risk for when he calls him in for help with a hunt on a vampire nest or something, and Benny gets to have a connection with Dean to hold on to (or a romance…) and have motivation to be good.
Similarly, I wouldn’t mind an AU where the main plot of Season 8 just (handwaving) resolved itself, Sam got to try out civilian life with his girlfriend and dog, and Dean went hunting with Benny instead. Big bloody adventures are just as welcome as vignettes about Benny learning about modern times (someone has to show him the internet! Or, on a more serious side, he could find that relationships with men are much more accepted than they used to be, for example) or them just exploring their relationship more deeply.
Finally, maybe Benny does get spat out of Purgatory again some way, god knows that place has as many entrances and exists by this point as a swiss cheese has holes. He runs to find Dean and Dean decides this time, he’ll make sure Benny stays topside.
Jesse Cuevas/Cesar Cuevas
They only showed up in that one episode, The Chitters, but these hunter husbands were so cute. I would really like to know about their first meeting. Was Cesar a hunter before he met Jesse and they kept meeting up hunting in the same area, or was he perhaps a civilian who Jesse saved? Was it a friends-with-benefits to lovers arrangement, love at first sight, or a slow, steady growth of feelings?
I’d also just love to see them taking on some monsters together! I think I could watch a whole spin-off show about these guys, so feel free to expand on the hunter husband adventures.
Jesse obviously had a pretty rough time growing up, being blamed for his brother’s disappearance and not accepted for his sexuality, as he alluded to, and I could see how that’d leave him as cautious and pessmistic as he sometimes seemed. I would love to see him struggling through the process of finding real happiness with Cesar, either when they first fell in love or when they finally retire.
The two of them are married, so there must have been a proposal at some point. I would love to read about that.
Also, Cesar and Jesse on their horse ranch in New Mexico! Either getting their civilian happy ending, or perhaps ridding the place there of some monsters. As we know, most hunters never truly retire.
I also really liked that scene in the car were Cesar speaks with Dean about the fact that even the hunters who get revenge are “never fixed”. Jesse might hope for it, but Cesar probably knows it won’t be easy, and him catching Jesse in that empty moment after the revenge might make for a really nice scene.
Please no GoT canon for this! Nothing against the show, I just haven't seen it.
Stannis Baratheon/Davos Seaworth
Ah well, a loyal lowborn knight and a principled would-be king and I'm here wanting every fanfic. Now, I know it's pretty difficult to avoid my cheating DNW while staying in the canon timeline, so while I do slightly favour AUs that work around them being married, feel free to ignore the cheating DNW for this pairing, since it's pretty hard to get a divorce in Westeros. You could make the argument (if you wanted) that perhaps Davos and his wife are just good friends at this point and that Stannis and Selyse were never exactly Romeo and Juliet to begin with, so the marriages might be more nominal than anything, in case you want to stay close to canon. Perhaps the wives have their own lovers (Selyse and Melisandre got along, didn't they?). Or anything else, really, I just don't want a focus on the cheating aspect.
While Stannis and Davos, like almost everyone in these books, are of course ripe for deathfic tragedy, I would like something that was a little uplifting. Perhaps just the moment sometime in their long relationship when they finally managed to put two and two together, something like a confession, all the UST finally spilling over, or just a surprise kiss, or even a touch of their hands that means too much.
In a slightly similar vein, reunite Stannis and Davos at the Wall for a sweet or hot moment (as sweet as Stannis can be, anyway, the awkward man, I love him); preferably with a non-roasted Shireen if she is brought up, thanks! Hey, it's not book canon yet...
In AU, feel free to throw the main plot of the series out the window if the whole Others business gets in the way of something more interesting you want to do. Hell, put Stannis on the throne! Maybe Joffrey fell over dead and Renly decided to support Stannis. Now Davos and him have to steer the flagging ship that is King's Landing in the dangerous waters of Westeros politics.
I would also love something set during the time when Stannis was struggling on Robert's council and how Davos helped with that. In conjuction with that, if you want to, you could also do something like allow same-sex marriage in Westeros. What would that change? Would Stannis have ever considered Davos, as early as in Storm's End or later? He would still be way, way lower class, after all. Perhaps Stannis' own marriage stayed childless and was annulled, and Davos never met his wife, and, ridiculed in court and castle for his failed marriage, Stannis finds solace in Davos' arms.
If you choose to do something with mpreg, perhaps Stannis is dead-set on making up for an accidental pregnancy he cause by marrying Davos, while Robert watches on in abject confusion (who marries the commoners they got pregnant? Like seriously, how many wives would he have if that were a thing...) and Davos is worried Stannis only weds him because it is the honourable thing to do, not because he wants to.
Finally, you can give me all the "Stannis, Davos, Shireen, and her approximately one hundred new step-brothers" fluff, either canonverse, somehow (Stannis Is King post-canon AU?), or with a Modern AU (I would love to see how you could translate Stannis' history with Davos and Davos' loyalty to him in a setting that probably doesn't involve sieges and hacked off fingers and onion ships... or does it, somehow?). Or, in case you're going for a pre-canon setting/AU, maybe stuff with Stannis, Davos, and young Renly?
Elf Prince/Lowborn Male Elf Bodyguard
I love me some pairings with class differences! Obviously, the first question here is how the Lowborn Bodyguard ended up in charge of the Elf Prince. Was he the little servant boy that the Elf Prince would always play with when they were younger and thus grew into his position out of a long-lasting friendship? Was he a common palace guard or even civilian who ended up gathering the position because he saved the Elf Prince’s life from something? Is he an experienced soldier who has worked his way up the ranks despite all prejudice against him because of his birth? And what does the Elf Prince think of him? If he has proven himself or is an old friend, the Prince is probably very partial to him, but if he has been assigned to the Elf Prince, the Elf Prince might wonder why he’s supposed to keep someone with such crude manners around. Is the Elf Prince a headstrong man who decides he’s going to marry his lover no matter what other people will say about it (in case same-sex relationships are allowed), or do they keep their relationship a secret? Is the Lowborn Bodyguard in awe of the Elf Prince and feels inferior, or does he secretly have a more dismissive attitude towards high society, or just gently teases him for being posh? So many options here, and I like them all!
Feminine Alpha Who Is The Most Alpha of Them All/Masculine Omega Insecure About Their Looks (M/M)
Alphas and Omegas who don’t look/act like they commonly are supposed to are great. This could just be PWP, but I would also love a story about the Alpha just aggressively setting out to charm the Omega. Or it could be the two of them meeting up again and again, but both at first figuring the other would not be into them (though the Alpha sounds self-confident, being the Alphaest of Alphas, he might think the Omega would prefer someone who doesn’t make him look even more Alpha by comparison). If the Omega is also in a profession that makes him see a bit stereotypical alpha at first (bouncer, copper, construction worker, soldier, anything like that), and the Alpha is a well-dressed type who wouldn’t be caught dead doing manual labour, I think it could be even more interesting. You could do a modern take or a historical or fantasy setting here, either the usual medieval Europe type, or something like ancient Rome, Edo period Japan, Victorian London, or whatever else strikes your fancy, since in olden times, the stereotypes were probably even more rigid than they would be in the modern world.
Forty-Year-Old Virgin King/His Male Knight Who Wants to Gently Deflower Him
So this is where my loyalty kink is gonna come out because knights who are absolutely devoted to their monarchs is just my thing. For the Virgin King, I would really like him to be someone who would be described by his people as wise, the sort of monarch that most people can see being happily alone, for he says his first duty is to the country and nothing else (and, being wise, he has perhaps already designated a successor, meaning there’s not even any urgency to get him wed). No one really thinks he has interest in intimacy or romance, but that might not be quite true… The Male Knight could be someone who has been at his side for many years and is a trusted confidante, or someone who is at court but has mostly admired the King from afar, but gets his chance because of some diplomatic mission he’s chosen for, or because they somehow get locked into a situation together. And, of course, I would love if the Male Knight reached his goal and did eventually share the King’s bed. In fact, if you wanted to write a more compact fic, you could also focus on that aspect, or, if you do not want to write anything explicit, the moment when the king accepts his offer. Historical and fantasy settings are equally great.

King Looking for Loophole to Get Rid of Head of Council/Cunning Male Head of Royal Council
Political intrigue is great fun and sly people trying to outdo each other is the best, whether historical or fantasy. This could be a new, younger King trying to wrest the council control over to himself from an experienced Head of the Council who will not so easily be disposed of. However, I also like the idea that the King and the Head of the Royal Council have been doing their dance for a good few years, if not a couple decades. Either way, somewhere between their sniping and scheming and fighting, they started sleeping together, maybe accidentally, maybe as part of some convoluted plan from either side. And what if the loophole is that the Head of Council can’t be the King’s consort? Would it be a good enough reason for the King to marry him? Would the Head of Council take the defeat in exchange for this new position of power (and perhaps for a place in the King’s bed and heart)? But I would also like other solutions to the problem, or the idea that they’ll just endlessly bicker and plot for what will probably the rest of the king’s time on the throne.
+ it would be great if most of the court agrees that the King’s and Head of Council’s constant push and pull has actually led to the most sensible and well-thought-out policies in the kingdom’s recent history
Monarch/Newlywed Noble Husband Who Tried to Have Them Assassinated
I could see this going a few ways: Either the Monarch is a rather kind soul who had their marriage arranged for them by a shrewder council/advisor who saw the danger their Noble Husband’s family posed and attempted to tie them to the Monarch to appease them, and the Noble Husband starts to like the Monarch very much and is deathly afraid his good-hearted Monarch husband/wife will find out about his treason and have their heart shattered (also, that it will land Noble Husband in jail/on the chopping block). On the other hand, the Monarch and the Noble Husband could both be very, very aware of what happened and generally have agreed to the marriage so the kingdom won’t be torn apart in their fight and neither will lose their heads, which will probably lead to a lot of tension and some explosive fights. The third version could be like the first version, only the Noble Husband’s kind, seemingly innocent Monarch already secretly knows all about the assassination, maybe even in more detail than the people who asked him to enter this marriage.
+ I’d like it if both Monarch and Noble Husband are already past 30 or even 40, maybe it’s not even the first marriage for one or either of them, but either way they are not inexperienced spring chicken in political and personal matters
Newly-Crowned Empress/Foreign Princess She's Marrying But Has Never Met
I’d love to see a version of this trope where both of them are trying to make the best of the situation. After all, as highborn noblewomen, they always knew they would likely not get to choose their match. Of course, they’ll also both still be worried. Will they like their new partner? Are the rumours about their partner, whichever they are, accurate? Were the portraits painted with any grade of accuracy? I short, who are they going to meet at the altar (or whatever symbol of marriage that country’s/world’s religion uses)? Feel free to sprinkle in fantasy elements, too. One of them could be a wolf shifter, or a dwarf, or something entirely different, and her partner might be very interested in it (or conversely may have heard terrible things about those Dark Elves/Dryads/etc. and be very afraid). Even if they’re just from different human cultures, there’ll still be much to learn. If you happen to be more of a history buff and want to go with something more realistic, real-world historical, that would also be a lot of fun – just to see what a wedding between two noblewomen could have looked like in France, ca. 1400 or something, if it had been a thing then. Either way, I’d love it if by the end of the night they were both at least cautiously optimistic.
Prince Entering an Arranged Marriage to Bring Peace After Generations of War/His New Husband
The Prince and his New Husband are doing the reasonable thing to help their people, but no one expects it to be anything but an icy relationship. It could be a truce between two nations that do not wish to be locked in warfare for another hundred years and the New Husband is a younger prince of the opposing house, or an important lord and general. But it would also be interesting if the Prince’s side had been the clear winner and the Prince is taking the other nation’s crown prince as his New Husband as part of the peace agreement to consolidate the royal houses, with the losing side giving up all their lands and powers to the Prince’s family. Either way, I would love it if the husbands were old enough that they had actively taken part in combat, perhaps even fought directly against each other. Nothing like a marriage where your first argument on the wedding night can be about that time your husband locked you into a castle and starved you almost to death in a brutal siege for ten months, or where you’re looking at him across the table and see the missing eye your sword strike left him with. However, if there was still some shred of respect, some aggressive UST, or something else that could grow into more between them, I would love that.
Rich Male Aristocrat/Lower Class Husband Forced into Marrying Him
Ah, and once again the class difference rears its head in my trope list. I find this interesting because it’s unclear why a man of lower class would be forced by an Aristocrat to marry him. I like the idea that maybe it was not the Aristocrat (alone) who forced him. Maybe the Lower Class Husband has a hereditary title that is quite meaningless to his family and has been for long years, since no more lands or money are connected to it, but that the Aristocrat’s family really wants. This could be fun because now the Lower Class Husband is not just worried about the marriage, he even knows it will be all but impossible to make it work even if he tries. Like, great: he’s got a husband who will never love him and to whom he was just a tool, everyone already knows he was no love match and will look down on him at every social function, and he’s suddenly captured in a social sphere he’s never had much interest in to begin with. Others might say he made a great match, but he isn’t quite so sure. This could be doubly so if his Aristocrat husband is forced to marry him by a vengeful king or queen, perhaps some sort of punishment for the family for dabbling in scheming, by pulling their oldest son out of the marriage game and giving him a worthless match. And is the Aristocrat cold to his husband at first, or does he also attempt to make this better? Is he perhaps long charmed by the Lower Class Husband and mortified how all of this went down by the fault of his own ruthless family or the king? Or is he complicit but trying to smooth things over? Either way, I’d love to see one or several scenes of how a relationship blossoms between them.
+ would love a Renaissance, Early Modern or Victorian setting for this, or something historical outside the realm of Europe (if you don’t want to do inordinate amounts of research, just make it the fantasy version of those times, I’m really more about the general feel than historical details, and this world already includes same-sex marriage and thus is different, after all; though if you happen to be a history buff, of course I’ll love something accurate, too)

Assassin’s Creed
Ratonhnhaké:ton | Connor/Clipper Wilkinson
If you don’t quite remember Clipper, well, I don’t blame you! He doesn’t have a big role, but he made an impact on me. He’s the Assassin recruit who allows you to order sniping at a distance when you call for your little helpers in a fight. Here is a video with all interactions you have with him directly.
As for prompts, Clipper says he doesn’t drink because he can’t hold his alcohol, so maybe a situation where he did get drunk for some reason (big Assassin celebration? Another recruit wanted to play a dumb trick on him and spiked his drink?) and what that results in. Perhaps Connor takes him out of harm’s way, or Clipper stumbles over to him and decides to make a love confession.
I also thought that it was cute Clipper said he wanted to fight like Connor some day. They should train together! Or go hunting, since Clipper comes from a hunting family and is a crack shot with a musket, and Connor needs to get those hunting achievement trophies somehow, after all. Or maybe Connor teaches Clipper to shoot with a bow and arrow to give him a stealthier alternative, or Clipper shows Connor how to handle a musket.
Clipper left his family behind and seemed to me to still be looking for a real place in life. Wouldn’t he make a great addition to Connor’s little village, helping out the people there together with Connor? Maybe Connor moves him in there (or right into his own house…).
Fluff of any kind for these two would be great, since they’re both such quiet, understated, kind types. Poor Connor is one of the Assassins in the series who doesn’t really have much of a confidante for most of the game, I find, yet he has a lot on his shoulders. Clipper could lend an ear and give Connor the hug he deserves (or more). I’d be just as happy to see these two fighting redcoats and being cool Assassins together, though!
Haytham Kenway/Charles Lee
A pairing from the wrong side of the train tracks, so to speak, in Assassin's Creed terms. I've always loved Charles' devotion to Haytham and Haytham bemused reaction to meeting this guy in full "senpai notice me" mode.
Anything set in the early years would be great. Templar adventures, searching precursor items, meddling in politics, Haytham teaching Charles some assassin techniques, the two of them falling in love slowly or quickly, a cute scene with Charles' (non-canonical, but in reality existant) dogs all up in Haytham's business, it's all awesome.
Hell, perhaps being Haytham's partner would mellow Charles out a bit - I'm sure if Haytham chastised him for something, Charles would stop immediately (and I wouldn't mind a scene of Haytham, ehm, disciplining and teaching him to control his temper in a more intimate manner). So Charles might not randomly punch children for no particular reason anymore, which would certainly have interesting repercussions on the plot of the game, though that needn't be part of the fic. I would love a scene where Haytham notices Charles' worse traits early on and, since he's already very partial to him, decides to use his influence over him for good, while maybe also kissing him somewhere in there!
Then again, I'm not against villain people doing villain things together, either, as long as it's within the borders of what's reasonable for the Templar Order, of course.
Feel free to go with a full canon divergence AU, too. Perhaps Charles arrives at Connor's village a few hours later than he does in game, when everything is already on fire, and, knowing for some reason that Connor is Haytham's son, takes the wounded boy back to Haytham and it's the start to a Connor Grows Up As A Templar AU - family fluff with that sort of dark edge would be really interesting.
But if you do prefer the later years, I'd also be totally happy with any romantic scenes that are written into existant canon, there's a lot of skipped time, after all. Perhaps a reunion after one of their absences? Or a mission they go on together, sneaking and fighting alongside each other.
Ezio Auditore da Firenze/Leonardo da Vinci
Ah man, I’ve loved this couple for years. Basically anything romantic between tham that happens during the course of the first two games would be great. Maybe Ezio can save Leonardo from trouble he got in for helping Ezio and escape with him over the rooftops, or conversely Leonardo can even think of a way to get Ezio out of a sticky situation, though he’s not as good at doling out physical punishment.
A younger Ezio doing his macho flirting act with Leonardo (and realising he may actually have a crush) would be really entertaining, but I would just as much like a story from the timeline of Brotherhood/the end of the first game, when Ezio has already matured. What could also be really fun would be a scene that follows this one when Ezio belatedly understands what Leonardo was trying to say and explores Leonardo’s lack of interest in women a bit further, heh.
Ezio being forced to test some more inventions of Leonardo’s would be great, but I would also like a vignette about Ezio being more seriously charmed by Leonardo’s genius and enthusiasm. What would also be cool would be Ezio finding some sketches or a portrait Leonardo made of him at some point, which Leonardo might keep hidden to protect Ezio’s identity or for other, more private reasons.
Finally, Ezio just turning his full charm on Leonardo and sweeping him off his feet would be super sweet, since living in the times he did, Leonardo probably never got much of that sort of romance in his life.
Adéwalé/Edward Kenway
Honestly, I’d be ecstatic about any kind of story from the years in which they were happy together as pirates on the Jackdaw. I can see them falling into bed on the first evening after their escape, but I could also see them building up trust (and huge crushes) for a while before anything that way happens.
They could explore uninhabited islands, or make it through a big storm, or catch a whale, or dig up treasure, or simply get through their gold drinking at a port and finding trouble in town afterwards, and so on, and if you can sneak in a kiss or flirting or some smut or romance, well, I’d be over the moon. Generally, I’m simply after reading about them interacting because I love their friendship and would gladly see it taken a bit further.
Also, if you decided that Edward’s redemption arc ended in him raising his daughter on his little island with Adéwalé instead of him going back to England to be unceremoniously killed by some offscreen mooks and having his daughter sold into slavery, er, yeah, I would like that a lot. Even though I’m aware this one veers hard into AU-land, since it would basically mean Haytham wouln’t be born. If you wanna futz with the timeline a bit and bring in Adéwalé’s son Babatunde, that’d be great, too, as long as Adéwalé’s not still in a relationship/in love with Bastienne.
Along those AU lines, I would also like to generally see Adéwalé and Edward working together post-game, killing Templars, freeing slaves, and generally being badass Assassin husbands.
Xenia/Kassandra OR Xenia/Alexios
I love that Xenia calls Kassandra/Alexios her West Wind and other nicknames, I love their subtle flirting, and their shared passion for treasure and drachmea! For prompts, I’d like something sweet about poor Kassandra/Alexios reflecting on coming to Keos again and again, hoping to get an in with Xenia with all their heroic retrievals (and maybe how they finally get lucky, since that scene was quite brief in the game).
If you wanna go more of an action route, I was also interested in Xenia saying she used to be out and about exploring when she was younger herself. Maybe she can put aside her responsibilities for a couple days and have an adventure with Kassandra/Alexios? Or they end up solving a problem on Xenia’s island together.
However, Kassandra/Alexios getting a chance to take breather from their crazy life in Xenia’s company would also be really nice.
Another idea is perhaps Kassandra/Alexios breaking their back to get some rare item Xenia didn’t even ask them to find to show they want a deeper relationship with Xenia (and maybe finding out they need just have asked because Xenia might very well like to “own the West Wind”, as she put it)?
Alexios/Thaletas
I think this was one of the romances that felt like it could very well grow into a deeper relationship (and to avoid the whole cheating thing, perhaps him and Kyra never really got off the ground, or were already broken up when he got with Alexios, or he broke up with her early, before Alexios and him really started, over his feelings for him). I would love to see the scene after the war, when they share their deep, dark secrets, as Thaletas suggested. Hell, in general I just want to see their reuninon. It was a sad moment when they realised that their current loyalties and paths in life would force them to stay separated because it seemed like they both thought something could be developing there. Whether Alexios goes to Sparta or Thaletas comes onto his ship, both would be great.
Hell, I’m going to go super shmoopy and say if Thaletas does the thing where he does a 180 on his decision at the last moment and decides sailing with Alexios is what he needs to do, perhaps is even what he should do considering Alexios is solving the problems of the Greek world one-handedly and thus the man to follow, and Thaletas then comes running to the port just before Alexios sets sail… I wouldn’t say no at all, either. Kyra did say Thaletas thinks with his heart, after all.
I love battle couples, so the two of them rooting out some threat would also be a lot of fun. I also think Thaletas would like a rematch! Which, considering Alexios has protagonist power, he’ll probably also lose (or perhaps he has a trick up his sleeve?). It would still be fun to see them test their mettle against each other again, just having a bit of fun between all their responsibilities.
Alexios/Lykaon
This was another touching romance. The fact that they see the strength and talents in each other when their lives are so different is really sweet. I could see Lykaon being very thankful for Alexios for taking a great burden off his shoulders concerning his grandmother and for always helping him out when he needed it, perhaps even worried that their relationship is somewhat one-sided; but on the other hand, Alexios could see a calm haven in the storm that is his life in Lykaon’s presence.
I would love just a sweet little scene of Lykaon patching Alexios up, or perhaps even something post-game where Alexios returns to Lykaon for good (I assume he’s still going to be sailing in his ship, but his home would be with him), or just Alexios being unable to not turn his ship towards Lykaon during the course of the game whenever he doesn’t have any other pressing matters to attend to. He said he can’t stay forever, but he’s starting to prove himself wrong
If you like action, you could also write something about mercenaries or other baddies hassling Lykaon and Alexios swooping in to save him.
Vampyr
Sean Hampton & Old Bridget
Listen, I have a lot of feelings about Vampyr’s resident friendly neighbourhood Skals, and I am so interested in their relationship. It’s clear Old Bridget trusts Sean and Sean has a lot of respect for her.
Maybe she meets him later, after Jonathan cured him, and since that was a whole ordeal, she could calm him down, or generally teach him a little about how to live as a Skal. It might also be interesting for her, since it seems that Old Bridget is seen as very uncommon by the Ekons and thus cured Skals can’t be numerous, and now she’s not alone in that anymore.
Sean could also comfort her after Harriet tears up the Skal hideout (maybe they both feel guilty for bringing/keeping her there). It could even be a sombre moment of them cleaning up and taking care of the corpses of their shared flock.
On the other hand, I’d also love a pre-game fic of when they first met or got to know each other a decade ago. Sean said it took him two months just to get her name. How did those conversations pan out? What was Sean’s reaction to learning about vampires through her, how did he justify it within his Catholic world view? What is Old Bridget’s opinion on this strange man who apparently was like, “Cannibal zombie vampires? Oh well, we’re all children of the Lord!”, what does she think about Sean in general?
Also, Sean said he once visited the Skal hide-out as a human. That sounds interesting, too! Basically, I just want everything about this strange friendship.
Geoffrey McCullum/Sean Hampton
These two don’t meet in-game, but I feel like it’d be really interesting if they did. Geoffrey has probably never met a Skal like Sean before and his new perspective (either because he is a vampire or because Jonathan spared him) might keep him from killing him outright, and Sean could be really good for him, since surely Geoffrey must be affected by what has happened to him recently one way or the other and could use someone kind who is generally ready to listen and help.
Besides, someone’s gotta keep the city standing if Jonathan left to America/the castle, and Sean and Geoffrey are both involved in doing just that, in their own ways. That would give them many opportunities to interact.
What I would also find fascinating is that if Jonathan didn’t turn Geoffrey, Arthur’s blood might still have done it eventually, and perhaps Sean just happens upon Geoffrey when that occurs and helps him through it. That would also create an interesting connection for them.
Hell, for all we know, Geoffrey and Sean could have met before the game. There’s a note from Geoffrey saying he knows they don’t have enough recruits at the East End docks, so it’s not impossible he would walk the perimeter there himself sometimes and eventually meet Sean and even befriend him, since Sean is just a human at that point. I would love a calm-before-the-storm kind of romance or cute scene between them pre-game (which might already be tinged by Sean probably lying to Geoffrey about the undead part of his flock). Alternatively, how would poor Geoffrey react to his crush or even boyfriend turning into a Skal?
Jonathan Reid/Geoffrey McCullum/Sean Hampton
This mess of a threesome is another favourite idea of mine. There’s just so much charge there: the anger Geoffrey must feel for Jonathan, particularly if he has made him an Ekon, his aggression towards vampires turning against Skal Sean, but his newfound knowledge also perhaps halting him and showing him that both Jonathan and Sean might be the kind of vampires who don’t deserve death and thus confusing him a lot in the process. Sean is likely still a bit resentful towards Jonathan, if his curt answer concerning an examination is anything to go by, and Geoffrey would probably scare or at least worry him, but I think Sean would also try to help Jonathan and Geoffrey both, if he knew the extent of their tragedies. Finally, Jonathan sees the good in both these men, but also has to live with the things he’s done to them, and, considering how Geoffrey hunted him, is probably as angry at him as Geoffrey is at Jonathan.
Jonathan is of course the logical connection point between them, so it might start out with him in a relationship/flirting with one of them first before the other joins. But perhaps Jonathan also takes a bit of a break from London after the game and finds his progeny have gotten to know each other in his absence.
A shorter story idea could be the three of them getting locked in somewhere and fighting their way out – though Sean is not much of a fighter, but perhaps he can make a good blood bag for the other two to replenish after or during the battle? (Then again, we know he turns into a tough mini boss if you let him deteriorate, so perhaps there’s more to him in a fight than anyone expects.)
Considering how long an examination of how they got together could go, I’d also be perfectly fine if you skipped to an established three-way relationship kind of deal, just showing how they deal with the world as a triad. How do they approach new threats in the city, how does Geoffrey keep his fellow guards from killing his boyfriends (and potentially himself), do Geoffrey and Sean help Jonathan at the hospital or with searching for a way to quell vampire hunger, and do Geoffrey and Jonathan make sure the shelter stays safe?
I would also just like to see them hanging out, bickering, doing naughty things. These boys are busy, I’m sure they could all stand to relax together sometimes. Just one or all of them reflecting on the relationship would be really interesting, too.
Tom Watts/Sean Hampton
Is this my rarest of pairs? It just might be, considering Tom is just a killable NPC. He’s such a nice fellow, though. It’s clear Sean likes him from what he tells Jonathan, and Tom also has only good things to say about Sean, and they’ve obviously known each other for a long while. And who knows, maybe the real reason Tom hasn’t gotten with Sabrina is that he’s just not interested in women, or that he already has his eye on someone else… ?
Since this pairing is so far non-existant, I would be happy for everything. They could try to help someone together, like Dyson or William Bishop or some other person from the East End. They could just meet up and commiserate a bit and maybe do some flirting. Perhaps Sean falls asleep from exhaustion in Tom’s bar one morning and Tom urges him to stay so he can get proper rest and a meal before returning to his flock. Or it’s Tom who needs help with a family member or some other personal problem, or even some issue with the police, since we know Tom doesn’t like handling law enforcement if he can avoid it. For smut, maybe something starting deeper into the relationship, when Tom slowly shows Sean the good sides of sex?
I just like the idea that as the two protectors of people in the East End, they could turn to each other. They’d be such a nice couple ripe for fluff… and for tragedy, of course, if you time the fic to after Sean gets turned. I would love to see how Tom deals with that, too, or if perhaps he gets more caught up in the chaos trying to help Sean and even ends up not human himself?
Elisabeth Ashbury/Mary Reid
So I’m aware I’m undercutting half of Jonathan’s emotional arc here, but he would absolutely agree that Mary deserves better than she got!
Elisabeth was already hanging ‘round the cemetery when Mary got buried, perhaps she stayed a bit longer than Jonathan and heard scratching from the casket, or found Mary at some point after she’d crawled out of the grave but hadn’t had time yet to murder anyone. Being a good soul, Elisabeth obviously takes her in to protect people from Mary and Mary from herself. With some guidance, a real explanation of what happened, and no blood on her hands, Mary might not totally lose it.
Alternatively, perhaps Elisabeth finds her after she has already killed some people, but since Elisabeth has a bloody past herself, she thinks Mary is not beyond redemption and captures her and drags her home (this would allow for perhaps a fight scene between them, which would be really neat – Mary was a terror of a boss fight, but I’m sure Elisabeth could give her a run for her money!). And then, Elisabeth is quite taken in by this unfortunate, passionate, beautiful woman and Mary is just so touched by Elisabeth’s friendship and assistance… well, you get where I’m going.
Jonathan Reid/Sean Hampton
Ah, the romance option I was hoping for all game long. Anything could make me happy here. You could write me the start of the game like Sean is the love interest! I mean, he’s already Princess Peaching it in Bishop’s den where you valiantly save him, it’s the perfect set-up for a charged conversation back in the hospital. Alternatively, a new/adjusted ending with Sean as Jonathan’s lover would also be great.
I would also generally like a small series of talks between him and Jonathan while Sean is still in Pembroke and doesn’t know he’s a Skal yet. Perhaps Jonathan can get some comfort and guidance from Sean by half-alluding to the terrible situation he’s in (or Sean, having known vampires for a decade, surprises Jonathan eventually with the revelation that he knows very well what Jonathan is and is not afraid of it).
I would also just like to see more of them interacting in general, perhaps caring about patients together, solving a crime in the East End, just growing closer and developing feelings for each other, either during the game or after the end if you make Jonathan return to London. They’re both caretakers with the caveat of being also people-eating monsters by nature, which is a very interesting dichotomy, and I feel like they could lean on each other for support.
I’m also a sucker for vampires feeding and hurt/comfort, so if Jonathan or Sean got hurt and the other offered them some blood, that would also be a great fic. Skals don’t seem to heal as well or quickly as Ekons, either, so maybe Jonathan can put some proper bandages on Sean, too, or Sean could allow him to do that examination he rejected at first (that part could probably veer into a smut prompt, heh).
Finally, Jonathan went through seven kinds of hell in the span of like two weeks in the game. If at some point he runs out of energy, or just has a break-down as it all catches up with him, I would love for Sean to be around to pick him up and comfort him.
Dragon Age
Fenris/Varric Tethras
I always thought these two could work out pretty well. Varric teases Fenris and brings out a bit of a humorous side in him, but at the same time you can see in the banter he cares about him, and Fenris obviously likes Varric well enough, too.
Maybe Fenris returns to Kirkwall after DA:I and him and Varric reconnect. Maybe they start dating during the DA2 timeline. Varric’s big strength is that he’s good with people, so I could see him navigating Fenris’ hang-ups pretty well. With their luck, I’m assuming a date would include at least one attack by blood mages or mercenaries, but they could still have fun, I’m sure.
One thing I like about this pairing is how the compact, muscular dwarf Varric is the sly rogue who keeps in the backline and moves across the battlefield like an acrobat, while petite, thin elf Fenris busts out the man-sized greatsword and has tank stamina and endurance. It would be fun just to see them work together in a fight (not like you need to walk far in Kirkwall to find one). Perhaps the enemies even underestimate Fenris’ strength and get a rough wake-up call.
I’d also love to see one of them rescue the other – Varric getting Fenris out of a bad spot with people trying to recapture him (either physically or through his nebulous contacts), or Fenris keeping Varric safe from merchant’s guild assassins.
And maybe Varric can get Fenris to clean up that damn house. Or at least one room. Maybe the bedroom. Alternatively, he just moves Fenris into the Hanged Man.
Male Hawke/Varric Tethras
It’s another romance option that got away, which seems to be a theme in my prompts. I’d enjoy any fic just exploring a day of their exploits from the DA2 timeline, or a reunion during or after the DA:I timeline. Hawke seemed to return to Kirkwall if he was alive, according to the ending slide, after all. I ship them both as a whirlwind romance from when Hawke first set foot into Hightown, to a deep friendship of a decade that then develops into something more.
There is this old interview with Gaider where he said that they almost wrote in that when Varric meets up with Hawke after the interrogation, he says he told them everything, and then Hawke would say “Everything?” and Varric would answer “Don’t worry. I skipped the part about us...” Would love to see that written out, too! Maybe with Hawke also patching up Varric after he got beaten up in the interrogation room, and an idea of what they plan to do now to fix Thedas.
Another idea I like: It was rumoured back in the day that Hawke was meant to be the Inquisitor, once upon a story planning stage. Hawke could have been at the Conclave because he was following Varric’s captors, for example. This would work both for established relationship or perhaps for a reunion that sparks feelings or a confession.
Varric’s reaction after Hawke’s disappearance in the Fade broke my heart! If you’re so inclined, you could fix it for me. Either Hawke comes stumbling out of a rift bleeding and half-dead into the Inquisitor’s keep or into Kirkwall when Varric has returned there, or Varric is in the party and stays behind with him and they fight their way out of the Fade together. Include as much hurt/comfort and desperation-sparked romance as you’d like.
I’m open for any class of Hawke with any personality (and love that Varric gives him differing nicknames depending on which one you learn towards playing, hah). Purple Hawke/Chuckles is of course the one who gets on with Varric like a house on fire, but he seems to like Diplomatic Hawke/Waffles a lot, too, since Varric’s approval rating is usually tied to how decent you are to people. However, I’m just as interested in Varric’s more snarky and difficult relationship with Aggressive Hawke/Killer. Mixing and matching would be fun, too, just like you can do in the game – like for example a Hawke who outwardly is rude and mean and harsh, but when push comes to shove makes his decisions like a Diplomatic Hawke would; or a Purple Hawke with a charming smile and a darker side.
Male Inquisitor/Varric Tethras
Didn’t get to romance him with the Inquisitor, either, dang it! But I really do enjoy Varric’s relationship to His Inquisitorialness, too. I feel like the Inquisitor can trust in Varric for a sort of down-to-earth opinion and general emotional support.
As usual, I’m always open for just exploring what they do day-to-day, especially since their slice-of-life probably includes bandits and magic caves and trecking through the Hinterlands and even a dragon or three. But I’d just as much like to see what trouble they can get up to in posh Orlais.
Maybe the Inquisitor is a fan of Varric’s books, and Varric eventually finds his whole collection in the Inquisitor’s shelves in his room? That would be cute. The Inquisitor could even be a bit jealous of Hawke, since Varric writes him as such a Hero in the Champion’s tale.
Perhaps the Inquisitor, after Trespasser, comes to join Varric in Kirkwall and they celebrate the end of their long-distance relationship? Or he stands on Varric’s doorstep unexpected and uninvited, feeling finally free to confess his feelings now that the burden is off his shoulders. Or, in a slightly sadder vein, the Inquisitor just didn’t feel like he had anywhere else to go, feeling unmoored and alone now that it’s all over and he’s an arm shorter, and he comes to Varric for help.
For a true smutty prompt, the Inquisitor could ease Varric’s bad mood about having to sleep outdoors in the wild by joining Varric in his tent/on his bedstead…
I also kind of would absolutely love to see the Inquisitor dancing with Varric at the Winter Palace ball.
The Inquisitor can be any class, diplomatic or funny or aggressive or a mix of those, and any race. On a shallow level, I’m into height differences, so that of course speaks for humans and qunari, but Varric’s interaction with the Carta dwarf could be really fun, too (they may even have met before, if you wanna go slightly AU), and Elfquisitors always bring in a lot of interesting lore connections to play with.
Sherlock (BBC)
I know that the fourth season of Sherlock was pretty hotly debated, especially in regards to the last episode. If you write for this fandom, you can include the fourth season or ignore it and pretend the BBC cancelled the show after the holiday special and none of that happened. I have no preference either way.
Mycroft Holmes/Greg Lestrade
Mycroft and his favourite goldfish is another one of these pairings I have had for years and that just won’t let me go. I still love reading almost everythig about them.
I’m a sucker for stories where Greg gets herded into the secret black car for the first time to meet Mycroft. You could adjust the timeline of Greg’s divorce a bit and make it so that when that happens, he already doesn’t have a ring on his finger anymore, if you want to set the romance there (I’d rather not have Greg cheating on his wife). Perhaps they could help Sherlock together and get closer that way. It would also be interesting if Mycroft perhaps was still overweight at this point, so hadn't yet quite managed to shape himself up to the image he wants to project, and Greg liked him, anyway.
Unusual dates are great! Mycroft decides they should meet up on the top of the Colosseum in Rome and has Greg packed into an airplane at dawn, or has to squeeze him in between diplomatic talks and so drags Greg in for tea at Buckingham Palace to spend some time on their anniversary. Or, most shocking at all, he comes to a football game with Greg.
I like stories where they impress each other. Either Greg solves a case by himself or handles a victim really well, or in general does something spontaneous and unexpected that manages to tear Mycroft out of the impression that he always knows at all times what’s going to happen next; or Mycroft showcases his intellect and carefully curated influence to solve a problem for Greg.
I’m also into fics that emphasise that Mycroft is a very dangerous man and a very strange human being, so intelligent Greg may as well be dating a supercomputer. Greg handling this really odd relationship he found himself in and wondering what Mycroft sees in him would be interesting. At the same time, Mycroft may be confused what would draw someone like Greg to a man like him, considering how different they are.
Sebastian Moran/Jim Moriarty
This is probably my one true unapologetic villain pair. Now, considering that Sebastian does not actually exist in BBC’s Sherlock, I have only these requirements: he should be over eighteen, male (cis or trans, either is good), he should know how to handle a sniper rifle, and he shouldn’t be another named character (so no Mary-is-Moran theories, but he can be a dude running around in the background of a shot if you’d like).
The beginnings of their relationship would be interesting. How did they meet? Was Jim already the powerful spider and Sebastian one of his contractors, or were they both young and Sebastian helped him grow his empire? How did they start their relationship, if it can be called that?
Jim survived Reichenbach and surprises a completely distraught Sebastian, who is on the path to self-destruction after his lover’s death (and also probably destroying quite a few other people on the way, let’s be real). Whether Jim gets kissed or punched in the face or both is entirely up to you, but I’d like it if they still got together again in the end, even if Sebastian might threaten to kill him for real.
Or perhaps Jim is the one who thought Sebastian died on some mission and is suddenly confronted with the fact that despite everything, he had true affection for this person.
Both Jim and Sebastian are dangerous killers and completely unreedemable, but I’d still like a story that somehow showcases that they deeply care for each other, even if it’s probably in a twisted, violent, unhealthy way.
John Watson/Greg Lestrade
I always liked this pairing. The two of them just seem to have an easy way around each other and them commiserating over a pint together because of all the troubles the Holmes brothers have put them through just seems like it could be a good start to something more, something closer.
Casefic could be really fun for those two. Maybe Greg doesn’t want to involve Sherlock and Mycroft and instead vents a little bit about a case he’s trying to solve with John, and he notices some detail as an ex-soldier or doctor; or it’s John who stumbles over a corpse and Sherlock is busy or bored by it, so he ends up calling the police, as one would ordinarily do. They could also get kidnapped together! Both are involved with Sherlock, who has a lot of attention on him, and they also know Mycroft. Perhaps they can surprise the Holmes brothers by freeing themselves.
There was that one holiday special on Youtube were Greg brought John the DVD recorded by Sherlock after his death. Perhaps he sees then how much John could need a helping hand, and of course he is also sad about Sherlock, and decides to try to get John out a bit more. Hell, maybe it’s even Greg who John is in the restaurant with when Sherlock finds him again.
Greg might have children himself, so perhaps he can lend a hand with John’s daughter post-S4 and that is how they get closer. I love family fluff, so I’d definitely be weak for a fic exploring this, either with just the three of them (plus uncle Sherlock, perhaps?), or even Greg taking them along with his own kids for an outing at the zoo or something, if his children are still younger, too.
Marvel Cinematic Universe
T’Challa/M’Baku
This pairing is awesome. With their, let’s say, troubled beginning in the movie up to the inevitable M’Baku-comes-at-the-last-moment-to-save-the-day scene, all the tension you could ever dream of is already there. Since the Jabari are now ready to join up with the others a bit more, it’s the perfect opportunity for T’Challa and M’Baku to get to know each other better and develop some feelings. I would love to read a fic about their blossoming respect for and interest in each other.
If you wanted to go into trope land a bit and find some made-up traditional reason why it’s absolutely necessary that T’Challa weds M’Baku (perhaps to showcase the reunion of the tribes after the movie, or at some point before the start of the movie because they want to reintigrate the Jabari), I would be here for that with bells on. Arranged marriage fic that leads to real feelings is just great fun.
M’Baku threatened his children would eat Everett Ross, and they could just be part of that joke, but maybe he really has some kids from a former relationship or deceased spouse. How does T’Challa get along with them? Just some patchwork family fun or fluff would be nice.
And of course, perhaps you could fix the great infinity stone disintegration. Considering the line-up of planned Marvel movies, I’d say it’s at least safe to say T’Challa will come back somehow, so them reuniting would be great, whether this is the moment they confess their feelings or they’ve been in a relationship for a while before that and now see each other again.
With both T’Challa and M’Baku being fearsome fighters, them taking down villains together or sharpening their skills against each other would also be super.
Supernatural
Dean Winchester/Benny Lafitte
Benny just appeared in one season, really, but it was enough to steal my heart. His chemistry with Dean was great and I loved how devoted he was to him in his own quiet way, up and including dying to help Dean’s brother, who hadn’t exactly been overly friendly to him. Dean and Benny just got each other.
Would love to read some tales from Purgatory. They hung out there for almost a year, that’s a lot of time for a hunter to develop an inappropriate relationship with a vampire while they fight side by side. What I also enjoyed from the glimpses we got is that Dean seemed to be taking the lead on the torture-for-information gig, generally said he enjoyed Purgatory for its simplicity, and his dark side showed quite a bit. It would be really interesting if, in Purgatory or Topside, monsterman Benny is actually the one who has to hold human Dean back from doing something drastic at some point.
It broke my heart when Benny was just kind of wandering earth failing to make connections. Maybe Dean can convince Sam that Benny is worth taking the risk for when he calls him in for help with a hunt on a vampire nest or something, and Benny gets to have a connection with Dean to hold on to (or a romance…) and have motivation to be good.
Similarly, I wouldn’t mind an AU where the main plot of Season 8 just (handwaving) resolved itself, Sam got to try out civilian life with his girlfriend and dog, and Dean went hunting with Benny instead. Big bloody adventures are just as welcome as vignettes about Benny learning about modern times (someone has to show him the internet! Or, on a more serious side, he could find that relationships with men are much more accepted than they used to be, for example) or them just exploring their relationship more deeply.
Finally, maybe Benny does get spat out of Purgatory again some way, god knows that place has as many entrances and exists by this point as a swiss cheese has holes. He runs to find Dean and Dean decides this time, he’ll make sure Benny stays topside.
Jesse Cuevas/Cesar Cuevas
They only showed up in that one episode, The Chitters, but these hunter husbands were so cute. I would really like to know about their first meeting. Was Cesar a hunter before he met Jesse and they kept meeting up hunting in the same area, or was he perhaps a civilian who Jesse saved? Was it a friends-with-benefits to lovers arrangement, love at first sight, or a slow, steady growth of feelings?
I’d also just love to see them taking on some monsters together! I think I could watch a whole spin-off show about these guys, so feel free to expand on the hunter husband adventures.
Jesse obviously had a pretty rough time growing up, being blamed for his brother’s disappearance and not accepted for his sexuality, as he alluded to, and I could see how that’d leave him as cautious and pessmistic as he sometimes seemed. I would love to see him struggling through the process of finding real happiness with Cesar, either when they first fell in love or when they finally retire.
The two of them are married, so there must have been a proposal at some point. I would love to read about that.
Also, Cesar and Jesse on their horse ranch in New Mexico! Either getting their civilian happy ending, or perhaps ridding the place there of some monsters. As we know, most hunters never truly retire.
I also really liked that scene in the car were Cesar speaks with Dean about the fact that even the hunters who get revenge are “never fixed”. Jesse might hope for it, but Cesar probably knows it won’t be easy, and him catching Jesse in that empty moment after the revenge might make for a really nice scene.
A Song Of Ice And Fire
Please no GoT canon for this! Nothing against the show, I just haven't seen it.
Stannis Baratheon/Davos Seaworth
Ah well, a loyal lowborn knight and a principled would-be king and I'm here wanting every fanfic. Now, I know it's pretty difficult to avoid my cheating DNW while staying in the canon timeline, so while I do slightly favour AUs that work around them being married, feel free to ignore the cheating DNW for this pairing, since it's pretty hard to get a divorce in Westeros. You could make the argument (if you wanted) that perhaps Davos and his wife are just good friends at this point and that Stannis and Selyse were never exactly Romeo and Juliet to begin with, so the marriages might be more nominal than anything, in case you want to stay close to canon. Perhaps the wives have their own lovers (Selyse and Melisandre got along, didn't they?). Or anything else, really, I just don't want a focus on the cheating aspect.
While Stannis and Davos, like almost everyone in these books, are of course ripe for deathfic tragedy, I would like something that was a little uplifting. Perhaps just the moment sometime in their long relationship when they finally managed to put two and two together, something like a confession, all the UST finally spilling over, or just a surprise kiss, or even a touch of their hands that means too much.
In a slightly similar vein, reunite Stannis and Davos at the Wall for a sweet or hot moment (as sweet as Stannis can be, anyway, the awkward man, I love him); preferably with a non-roasted Shireen if she is brought up, thanks! Hey, it's not book canon yet...
In AU, feel free to throw the main plot of the series out the window if the whole Others business gets in the way of something more interesting you want to do. Hell, put Stannis on the throne! Maybe Joffrey fell over dead and Renly decided to support Stannis. Now Davos and him have to steer the flagging ship that is King's Landing in the dangerous waters of Westeros politics.
I would also love something set during the time when Stannis was struggling on Robert's council and how Davos helped with that. In conjuction with that, if you want to, you could also do something like allow same-sex marriage in Westeros. What would that change? Would Stannis have ever considered Davos, as early as in Storm's End or later? He would still be way, way lower class, after all. Perhaps Stannis' own marriage stayed childless and was annulled, and Davos never met his wife, and, ridiculed in court and castle for his failed marriage, Stannis finds solace in Davos' arms.
If you choose to do something with mpreg, perhaps Stannis is dead-set on making up for an accidental pregnancy he cause by marrying Davos, while Robert watches on in abject confusion (who marries the commoners they got pregnant? Like seriously, how many wives would he have if that were a thing...) and Davos is worried Stannis only weds him because it is the honourable thing to do, not because he wants to.
Finally, you can give me all the "Stannis, Davos, Shireen, and her approximately one hundred new step-brothers" fluff, either canonverse, somehow (Stannis Is King post-canon AU?), or with a Modern AU (I would love to see how you could translate Stannis' history with Davos and Davos' loyalty to him in a setting that probably doesn't involve sieges and hacked off fingers and onion ships... or does it, somehow?). Or, in case you're going for a pre-canon setting/AU, maybe stuff with Stannis, Davos, and young Renly?

Elf Prince/Lowborn Male Elf Bodyguard
I love me some pairings with class differences! Obviously, the first question here is how the Lowborn Bodyguard ended up in charge of the Elf Prince. Was he the little servant boy that the Elf Prince would always play with when they were younger and thus grew into his position out of a long-lasting friendship? Was he a common palace guard or even civilian who ended up gathering the position because he saved the Elf Prince’s life from something? Is he an experienced soldier who has worked his way up the ranks despite all prejudice against him because of his birth? And what does the Elf Prince think of him? If he has proven himself or is an old friend, the Prince is probably very partial to him, but if he has been assigned to the Elf Prince, the Elf Prince might wonder why he’s supposed to keep someone with such crude manners around. Is the Elf Prince a headstrong man who decides he’s going to marry his lover no matter what other people will say about it (in case same-sex relationships are allowed), or do they keep their relationship a secret? Is the Lowborn Bodyguard in awe of the Elf Prince and feels inferior, or does he secretly have a more dismissive attitude towards high society, or just gently teases him for being posh? So many options here, and I like them all!
Feminine Alpha Who Is The Most Alpha of Them All/Masculine Omega Insecure About Their Looks (M/M)
Alphas and Omegas who don’t look/act like they commonly are supposed to are great. This could just be PWP, but I would also love a story about the Alpha just aggressively setting out to charm the Omega. Or it could be the two of them meeting up again and again, but both at first figuring the other would not be into them (though the Alpha sounds self-confident, being the Alphaest of Alphas, he might think the Omega would prefer someone who doesn’t make him look even more Alpha by comparison). If the Omega is also in a profession that makes him see a bit stereotypical alpha at first (bouncer, copper, construction worker, soldier, anything like that), and the Alpha is a well-dressed type who wouldn’t be caught dead doing manual labour, I think it could be even more interesting. You could do a modern take or a historical or fantasy setting here, either the usual medieval Europe type, or something like ancient Rome, Edo period Japan, Victorian London, or whatever else strikes your fancy, since in olden times, the stereotypes were probably even more rigid than they would be in the modern world.
Forty-Year-Old Virgin King/His Male Knight Who Wants to Gently Deflower Him
So this is where my loyalty kink is gonna come out because knights who are absolutely devoted to their monarchs is just my thing. For the Virgin King, I would really like him to be someone who would be described by his people as wise, the sort of monarch that most people can see being happily alone, for he says his first duty is to the country and nothing else (and, being wise, he has perhaps already designated a successor, meaning there’s not even any urgency to get him wed). No one really thinks he has interest in intimacy or romance, but that might not be quite true… The Male Knight could be someone who has been at his side for many years and is a trusted confidante, or someone who is at court but has mostly admired the King from afar, but gets his chance because of some diplomatic mission he’s chosen for, or because they somehow get locked into a situation together. And, of course, I would love if the Male Knight reached his goal and did eventually share the King’s bed. In fact, if you wanted to write a more compact fic, you could also focus on that aspect, or, if you do not want to write anything explicit, the moment when the king accepts his offer. Historical and fantasy settings are equally great.

King Looking for Loophole to Get Rid of Head of Council/Cunning Male Head of Royal Council
Political intrigue is great fun and sly people trying to outdo each other is the best, whether historical or fantasy. This could be a new, younger King trying to wrest the council control over to himself from an experienced Head of the Council who will not so easily be disposed of. However, I also like the idea that the King and the Head of the Royal Council have been doing their dance for a good few years, if not a couple decades. Either way, somewhere between their sniping and scheming and fighting, they started sleeping together, maybe accidentally, maybe as part of some convoluted plan from either side. And what if the loophole is that the Head of Council can’t be the King’s consort? Would it be a good enough reason for the King to marry him? Would the Head of Council take the defeat in exchange for this new position of power (and perhaps for a place in the King’s bed and heart)? But I would also like other solutions to the problem, or the idea that they’ll just endlessly bicker and plot for what will probably the rest of the king’s time on the throne.
+ it would be great if most of the court agrees that the King’s and Head of Council’s constant push and pull has actually led to the most sensible and well-thought-out policies in the kingdom’s recent history
Monarch/Newlywed Noble Husband Who Tried to Have Them Assassinated
I could see this going a few ways: Either the Monarch is a rather kind soul who had their marriage arranged for them by a shrewder council/advisor who saw the danger their Noble Husband’s family posed and attempted to tie them to the Monarch to appease them, and the Noble Husband starts to like the Monarch very much and is deathly afraid his good-hearted Monarch husband/wife will find out about his treason and have their heart shattered (also, that it will land Noble Husband in jail/on the chopping block). On the other hand, the Monarch and the Noble Husband could both be very, very aware of what happened and generally have agreed to the marriage so the kingdom won’t be torn apart in their fight and neither will lose their heads, which will probably lead to a lot of tension and some explosive fights. The third version could be like the first version, only the Noble Husband’s kind, seemingly innocent Monarch already secretly knows all about the assassination, maybe even in more detail than the people who asked him to enter this marriage.
+ I’d like it if both Monarch and Noble Husband are already past 30 or even 40, maybe it’s not even the first marriage for one or either of them, but either way they are not inexperienced spring chicken in political and personal matters
Newly-Crowned Empress/Foreign Princess She's Marrying But Has Never Met
I’d love to see a version of this trope where both of them are trying to make the best of the situation. After all, as highborn noblewomen, they always knew they would likely not get to choose their match. Of course, they’ll also both still be worried. Will they like their new partner? Are the rumours about their partner, whichever they are, accurate? Were the portraits painted with any grade of accuracy? I short, who are they going to meet at the altar (or whatever symbol of marriage that country’s/world’s religion uses)? Feel free to sprinkle in fantasy elements, too. One of them could be a wolf shifter, or a dwarf, or something entirely different, and her partner might be very interested in it (or conversely may have heard terrible things about those Dark Elves/Dryads/etc. and be very afraid). Even if they’re just from different human cultures, there’ll still be much to learn. If you happen to be more of a history buff and want to go with something more realistic, real-world historical, that would also be a lot of fun – just to see what a wedding between two noblewomen could have looked like in France, ca. 1400 or something, if it had been a thing then. Either way, I’d love it if by the end of the night they were both at least cautiously optimistic.
Prince Entering an Arranged Marriage to Bring Peace After Generations of War/His New Husband
The Prince and his New Husband are doing the reasonable thing to help their people, but no one expects it to be anything but an icy relationship. It could be a truce between two nations that do not wish to be locked in warfare for another hundred years and the New Husband is a younger prince of the opposing house, or an important lord and general. But it would also be interesting if the Prince’s side had been the clear winner and the Prince is taking the other nation’s crown prince as his New Husband as part of the peace agreement to consolidate the royal houses, with the losing side giving up all their lands and powers to the Prince’s family. Either way, I would love it if the husbands were old enough that they had actively taken part in combat, perhaps even fought directly against each other. Nothing like a marriage where your first argument on the wedding night can be about that time your husband locked you into a castle and starved you almost to death in a brutal siege for ten months, or where you’re looking at him across the table and see the missing eye your sword strike left him with. However, if there was still some shred of respect, some aggressive UST, or something else that could grow into more between them, I would love that.
Rich Male Aristocrat/Lower Class Husband Forced into Marrying Him
Ah, and once again the class difference rears its head in my trope list. I find this interesting because it’s unclear why a man of lower class would be forced by an Aristocrat to marry him. I like the idea that maybe it was not the Aristocrat (alone) who forced him. Maybe the Lower Class Husband has a hereditary title that is quite meaningless to his family and has been for long years, since no more lands or money are connected to it, but that the Aristocrat’s family really wants. This could be fun because now the Lower Class Husband is not just worried about the marriage, he even knows it will be all but impossible to make it work even if he tries. Like, great: he’s got a husband who will never love him and to whom he was just a tool, everyone already knows he was no love match and will look down on him at every social function, and he’s suddenly captured in a social sphere he’s never had much interest in to begin with. Others might say he made a great match, but he isn’t quite so sure. This could be doubly so if his Aristocrat husband is forced to marry him by a vengeful king or queen, perhaps some sort of punishment for the family for dabbling in scheming, by pulling their oldest son out of the marriage game and giving him a worthless match. And is the Aristocrat cold to his husband at first, or does he also attempt to make this better? Is he perhaps long charmed by the Lower Class Husband and mortified how all of this went down by the fault of his own ruthless family or the king? Or is he complicit but trying to smooth things over? Either way, I’d love to see one or several scenes of how a relationship blossoms between them.
+ would love a Renaissance, Early Modern or Victorian setting for this, or something historical outside the realm of Europe (if you don’t want to do inordinate amounts of research, just make it the fantasy version of those times, I’m really more about the general feel than historical details, and this world already includes same-sex marriage and thus is different, after all; though if you happen to be a history buff, of course I’ll love something accurate, too)
